Shock Zogby Poll: McCain Up 48-47

Not so much a shock, but more reality-based.

We'll see.

Drudge claims it's so.

If McCain can sneak within the margin of error, it could prove interesting, especially in swing states.

More here.
Pollster John Zogby: "Is McCain making a move? The three-day average holds steady, but McCain outpolled Obama today, 48% to 47%. He is beginning to cut into Obama's lead among independents, is now leading among blue collar voters, has strengthened his lead among investors and among men, and is walloping Obama among NASCAR voters. Joe the Plumber may get his license after all. "Obama's lead among women declined, and it looks like it is occurring because McCain is solidifying the support of conservative women, which is something we saw last time McCain picked up in the polls. If McCain has a good day tomorrow, we will eliminate Obama's good day three days ago, and we could really see some tightening in this rolling average. But for now, hold on."

Trick Or Treat?!?

'Obama Take Care of My Family'

I fear the suicide rate may increase exponentially once the folks realize Obama isn't going to be paying the mortgage.
EL PASO -- A man who jumped 60 feet to his death from the Spaghetti Bowl on Thursday left a note with a message for Democratic presidential candidate Sen. Barack Obama.

A note to "Obama" was found in the man's car, which was parked on the top ramp of the Spaghetti Bowl.

Officials offered no further explanation nor interpreted the note's meaning.

About 7:45 a.m., police responded to a report that the 52-year-old El Paso man had jumped off the uppermost ramp of the Spaghetti Bowl. His body was found on I-10 west just before the Copia Street exit. His name was not released.

Police spokesman Darrel Petry said Crimes Against Persons investigators were investigating the death as a suicide.

Two notes on large pieces of paper were found on the dashboard and another part of the car, police said.

The investigation into the death caused traffic to back up near Hawkins Boulevard for at least an hour as the man's body lay in the far right lane of the interstate. His white tennis shoes, which had fallen off during or after the fall, lay just a few feet from his body.

Police were also seen on Ramp F, the top ramp of the Spaghetti Bowl, next to the white four-door sedan, which was parked unattended. The ramp connects I-10 west to the Bridge of the Americas and Paisano Drive.

Police confirmed that the man left behind a note that read, "Obama take care of my family."

Hot Coeds Uncover More Voter Fraud

I saw this last night but was getting sleepy at the time, which was no surprise since I was in bed. Anyway, if it weren't for another guy who also was mesmerized by both their investigative skills and cuteness, I'd have forgotten about this completely.

Watch the video, admire the talent, and thrill at the knowledge the Democrats are going to do every damn thing to steal the vote in Ohio.

Props to Greta van Susteren, by the way. She's been very fair and is clearly not in the tank for Obama. I've gained a lot of respect for her the past few weeks. Her Greta Wire always has some interesting material.

It's Over! Another 'Respected' RINO Jumps Ship

Another fair-weather Republican jumps ship. Seems like they've got a new one lined up every day. Naturally, he piles on Palin.
Ken Duberstein, a White House chief of staff for President Ronald Reagan and an adviser to Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., in 2000, tells CNN that he will vote for Sen. Barack Obama, D-Ill.

"Well, let's put it this way," Duberstein says, "I think Colin Powell's decision is, in fact, the good housekeeping seal of approval on Barack Obama."

On MSNBC, Duberstein also voiced skepticism about Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin.
But wait a minute, is he maybe just a bit disgruntled?
Reacting to the news that Ken Duberstein -- former White House chief of staff to President Ronald Reagan and an adviser to Sen. John McCain's, R-Ariz., campaign eight years ago -- today endorsed Sen. Barack Obama, D-Ill., two McCain campaign advisers tell ABC News that in July Duberstein unsuccessfully lobbied to head McCain's transition team should he win the presidency.

"Absolute, complete bulls***," Duberstein responded to the charge, when contacted by ABC News.

"Someone outside the McCain campaign approached me and said I'd be the ideal candidate to head the transition," Duberstein said. "I said, 'For what?'"

Two senior McCain advisers recall it a little differently. They say Duberstein reached out to someone affiliated with the campaign to throw his hat into the ring.
Speaking of Reagan-era relics few have heard from in many moons, one is backtracking. I doubt this will gain as much notice as his statement yesterday?

The pathetic thing is, these folks are now ostracizing themselves from the party while they don't even realize their usefulness to the left has about a 96-hour shelf life.

Update: It's worth noting one Kenneth Duberstein made the maximum $2300 contribution to John McCain on January 30. His donations have been solidly Republican for years, so I suspect he's had a falling out with the McCain camp. Other donations here.

As we had linked earlier to Lawrence Eagleburger, note he also contributed the maximum $2300 to McCain several months ago. At the same time, he's contributed in the past to Obama's useful idiot Chuck Hagel.

For Once I Agree With Michelle Obama

"It's way too soon, he hasn't done anything yet."

Yes, and he's done even less since 2004. Except maybe for that giant credit card scam...

Shamelessly lifted from Ace.

Bearack Obama

Animals that were formerly self-sufficient are now showing signs of belonging to the Democratic Party... as they have apparently learned to just sit and wait for the government to step in and provide for their care and sustenance. This photo is of a Democrat black bear in Montana nicknamed 'Bearack Obama'!
After the insipid comments of the Obamaton noted earlier, it got me thinking about this image sent to me in an email. I imagine this has been making it's way around people's email and is probably out there on the web already, but here you go as a Friday afternoon palate cleanser.

Happy Halloween!

Iraq Casualties at Lowest Level of the War

Remember back during the primaries when Iraq was the number one issue? Well, since we've been winning, it's been largely ignored by the media.

Good news is no news, in other words.

John McCain was right, Barack Obama was wrong, so the media ignore it. Funny how that is.
U.S. deaths in Iraq fell in October to their lowest monthly level of the war, matching the record low of 13 U.S. fatalities suffered in July. Iraqi deaths fell to their lowest monthly levels of the year.

Eight of the 13 Americans died in combat, most of them in northern Iraq where al-Qaida and other Sunni insurgent groups remain active. The U.S. suffered 25 deaths in September and 23 in August.

The sharp drop in U.S. fatalities reflects the overall security improvements across the country following the Sunni revolt against al-Qaida and the rout suffered by Shiite extremists in fighting last spring in Basra and Baghdad.
This will probably merit 20 seconds mention on the networks tonight, if they even get around to noting it.

Media Blowback: WaPo Profit Drops 86%

As we all know, journalism is officially dead and buried on the heels of this presidential campaign, and nothing more demonstrates the fact than dozens of these alleged journalists that are now de facto press aides for Barack Obama haven't officially boycotted his campaign this morning after reporters for three major newspapers were barred from Air Messiah.

So can it any longer be newsworthy that newspapers are in dire straits financially since readers are abandoning them in droves?

Well, it's newsworthy to me that the Washington Post, carrying water for Obama with this absurd defense of PLO mouthpiece Rashid Khalidi, good buddy of Barack Obama, has seen their profits virtually disappear in the third quarter.

Good. I won't rest until it's 100% and they're bankrupt.
Washington Post Co. reported an 86 percent drop in third-quarter profit as it wrote down the value of its publications and recorded a 14 percent decrease in advertising at its flagship newspaper.

Net income fell to $10.3 million, or $1.08 a share, from $72.5 million, or $7.60, a year earlier, the company said in a statement distributed by Business Wire today.
Of course this decline doesn't strictly stem from a decline in readers, but these organizations such as the Washington Post and hordes of others from the LA Times to the New York Times need to be boycotted. And they're just several of dozens of newspapers, magazines and television outlets that should be ignored. These people are not journalists, they're propagandists with an agenda, and simply put, that agenda is to destroy any dissent from liberal orthodoxy and truth simply no longer matters with them. Whatever can further the goal of their politics is now justified. They're not satisfied with simply looting the personal files of a Joe the Plumber or smearing Sarah Palin, now they're not even standing up for their professional peers. They've sacrificed dignity, honor and a journalistic code in furtherance of their political ideology.

They must be shunned.

There is an enormous opportunity for the alternative voices in the new media to rise up and replace them. The time is now.

Obama's Media Purge Begins

If you don't properly suck up to The Messiah, don't expect any access.
The Obama campaign has decided to heave out three newspapers from its plane for the final days of its blitz across battleground states -- and all three endorsed Sen. John McCain for president!

The NY POST, WASHINGTON TIMES and DALLAS MORNING NEWS have all been told to move out by Sunday to make room for network bigwigs -- and possibly for the inclusion of reporters from two black magazines, ESSENCE and JET, the DRUDGE REPORT has learned.

Despite pleas from top editors of the three newspapers that have covered the campaign for months at extraordinary cost, the Obama campaign says their reporters -- and possibly others -- will have to vacate their coveted seats so more power players can document the final days of Sen. Barack Obama's historic campaign to become the first black American president.

Some told the DRUDGE REPORT that the reporters are being ousted to bring on documentary film-makers to record the final days; others expect to see on board more sympathetic members of the media, including the NY TIMES' Maureen Dowd, who once complained that she was barred from McCain's Straight Talk Express airplane.
When Obama sniffles and whines about unfair coverage, he can look back at this moment and blame himself. Of course, accepting responsibility and being a grow-up aren't exactly his strong points.

It would be refreshing to see the rest of the media on that plane walk off in protest, but they'd rather have access than self-respect. The proper response by these news organizations to this breathtaking arrogance is to stop covering Obama entirely.

Update: The Washington Times reacts.
"This feels like the journalistic equivalent of redistributing the wealth, we spent hundreds of thousands of dollars covering Senator Obama's campaign, traveling on his plane, and taking our turn in the reporter's pool, only to have our seat given away to someone else in the last days of the campaign," said Washington Times Executive Editor John Solomon.

"I hope the candidate that promises to unite America isn't using a litmus test to determine who gets to cover his campaign."
This is some astonishing gall:
"Unfortunately, demand for seats on the plane during this final weekend has far exceeded supply, and because of logistical issues we made the decision not to add a second plane. This means we've had to make hard and unpleasant for all concerned decisions about limiting some news organizations and in some cases not being in a position to offer space to news organizations altogether," wrote Obama campaign Senior Advisor and Chief Communications Officer Anita Dunn in an email.

"There are simply no more seats on Senator Obamas plane," she added. "There are press seats available on Senator Bidens plane for travel this final weekend and the Washington Times is encouraged to include our Vice Presidential nominee in your coverage plans for this final stretch."
In other words, we're not allowing you access to Obama, so go cover Biden.

Again, the Washington Times and the others purged should stop covering Obama.

Trutherism, Japanese Style

So Japan wasn't an aggressor during World War II?

I guess all those scenes from Pearl Harbor were cleverly staged, just like the moon landing and the attacks of 9/11.

Sad thing is, there are idiots out there who will probably agree with this.
JAPAN was not the aggressor in World War II, according to the country's air force chief.

The essay was authored by General Toshio Tamogami, chief of staff of Japan's Air Self-Defence Force, and won the top award in an inaugural contest aimed at describing "true views of modern history".

"Even now, there are many people who think that our country's 'aggression' caused unbearable suffering to the countries of Asia during the Greater East Asia War," said the English-language version of the essay.

"But we need to realise that many Asian countries take a positive view of the Greater East Asia War.

"In Thailand, Burma, India, Singapore, and Indonesia, the Japan that fought the Greater East Asia War is held in high esteem.

Tito the Builder Hammers Skeletor

I figure he's wearing the shades to protect himself from the harmful image of Alan Colmes. I like this Tito fellow. He's not buying the pap Skeletor is selling.

Although I imagine by this time tomorrow the DNC and their media persons of hench will have unearthed every minute detail of Tito's existence and will gladly leak it to whoever wants to trash the guy, protectors of privacy that they are.

Newt For RNC Chairman?

If the GOP is going to find itself out in the wilderness, they'll certainly need someone with fresh ideas and a proven track record at the top of the party and is there anyone out there in recent memory with a better record than Newt Gingrich?
BRACED for setbacks in next Tuesday's election, Republicans are already searching for a new leader to restore the party to the philosophical principles of its 1994 Revolution.

In fact, some are turning to the very architect of that revolt, and are pressing behind the scenes for former House Speaker Newt Gingrich to take the helm of the Republican National Committee from which to once again plot a storming of the gates.

"Newt is a man of ideas and he is a force of nature," said one GOP official who leans in favor of making Gingrich RNC boss.

"He'll be the first to tell you that some of his ideas can be crazy, but at least they're ideas, and often, they're brilliant."

Supporters say Gingrich, a professor from Georgia who battled his way to the top of the party, has the unique combination of outside-the-box visionary thinking and obsessive, tireless energy to carry out the work that lies ahead for the party.

"This battle is going to be huge," said another Gingrich supporter. "It's going to be really hard work."
There are obvious drawbacks, one being Gingrich is a favorite punching bag of the media elites, who unleashed a relentless slash and burn campaign against him after he became House Speaker back in 1994. By the time the 1998 midterm elections had rolled around he stepped down as speaker to be replaced (albeit temporarily) by Bob Livingston, who lasted all of five minutes once Larry Flynt unleashed to dogs of war on him. Livingston was supplanted by Dennis Hastert, who was never one to rally the troops or even come up with some bold, fresh ideas.

Once he left elected office though, Gingrich has remained in the public sphere, became a best-selling author and most recently has led the Drill Here, Drill Now campaign that reinvigorated the public's desire to tap our own resources rather than being held captive by foreign oil suppliers.

For those who are turned off by Gingrich, they have to admit he's an intellectual who's forward thinking and can help the party regain a foothold in the battle of ideas. He won't be one of these timorous moderates looking to polish a public image while being subservient to the Democrat steamroller.

The GOP will need a strong force to battle the Democrats with and Gingrich certainly has the chops and name recognition. Speaking of which, can you even name the current chairman?

That alone should tell you leadership is sorely lacking.

BTW, his name is Mike Duncan. Good luck even picking him out of a lineup.

This isn't an endorsement of Gingrich, but I'd be curious to know some other names folks out there might be considering.

Punk Kid Stealing McCain Sign Gets Zapped

Serves the little shit right. And shame on the lowlife scumbags who use little kids to steal campaign signs.

Typical Democrats.
After Shawn Turschak saw two sets of McCain-Palin signs disappear from his yard within hours of being planted, he took steps to protect the latest pair. On Monday, he ran wires from his house and hooked the signs into a power source for an electric pet fence. Then he mounted a surveillance camera in a nearby tree and wired it to a digital recorder. Tuesday afternoon, the camera saw this: A neighbor trotting up with an Obama-Biden sign, grabbing a handful of volts as he touched a McCain-Palin sign, then fleeing at top 9-year-old boy speed.

'O God, Humiliate Bush and His Party'

Of course they remain officially non-partisan, but then again, so does ACORN. Seems to me this tacit endorsement now activates the sleeper cells in the Democrat party to go out and vote for Obama. Of course if this backfires, they can always blame Rove.
An al Qaeda leader has called for President George W. Bush and the Republicans to be "humiliated," without endorsing a party in the upcoming U.S. presidential election, according to an Internet video posting.

"O God, humiliate Bush and his party, O Lord of the Worlds, degrade and defy him," Abu Yahya al-Libi said at the end of sermon marking the Muslim feast of Eid al-Fitr, in a video posted on the Internet.

Libi, a top al Qaeda commander believed to be living in Afghanistan or Pakistan, called for God's wrath to be brought against Bush equating him with past tyrants in history.

The remarks were the first from a leading al Qaeda figure referring, albeit indirectly, to the U.S. elections. Muslim clerics often end sermons by calling on God to guide and support Muslims and help defeat their enemies.
Unable to cope with reality back in 2004, the hapless Lerch in part blamed his loss on a bin Laden leadin up to the election.
In 2004 bin Laden issued his first video in more than a year just days before the U.S. elections. It derided Bush and warned of possible new September 11-style attacks.

Bin Laden made little mention of Bush's Democratic challenger, John Kerry, telling Americans: "Your security is not in the hands of Kerry or Bush or al Qaeda. Your security is in your own hands and each state which does not harm our security will remain safe."

Kerry has attributed his loss in part to the video's high-profile reminder of the terrorism issue.

Rough Justice, Montana Style

The dude founded and owns the company and gets sent packing for throwing a few bucks to The Messiah.

Not a good move when that company manufactures guns.
In response to the recent article highlighting Dan Cooper’s personal political donations, the board of directors, shareholders and employees of Cooper Firearms of Montana, Inc would like to issue the following statement.

The employees, shareholders and board of directors of Cooper Firearms of Montana do not share the personal political views of Dan Cooper.

Although we all believe everyone has a right to vote and donate as they see fit, it has become apparent that the fallout may affect more than just Mr. Cooper. It may also affect the employees and the shareholders of Cooper Firearms.

The board of directors has asked Mr. Cooper to resign as President of Cooper Firearms of Montana, Inc.

Daily operations will continue with the competent staff currently in place in Stevensville, MT producing the finest, most accurate rifles money can buy.

Good News: You Can Vote For Obama and Still be a Racist

Well, that should come as quite a relief for those 30% of Democrats who are racists.

Coming from a plagiarist pal of Al Sharpton just adds a little heft to the argument, I guess.
Even if you vote for Obama, you’re still probably a racist, according to Harvard law professor Charles Ogletree, in his remarks at a recent panel discussion at my alma mater. Ogletree, Obama’s top advisor on race issues, explains that since Obama is “biracial,” his election won’t prove that racism has receded. White America won’t vote for blacks, Ogletree argues, and Obama’s election is possible only because he’s partly white. The ABA Journal predicts that Ogletree, who has long advocated race-based reparations, will be the Assistant Attorney General in charge of the Civil Rights Division during the Obama administration.
Wonderful. I wonder who will be the the Commissar of Mind Control?

I get this sneaking suspicion there will be preferential treatment for people depending on who you voted for.

Biden Faces Another Tough Reporter

The good news is the kid is only 10 years old so it shouldn't take the Obama minions too long to scour his background looking for dirt. I don't know something like he skipped school one day pretending to be sick or something.
On the other hand maybe Joe ought to stick to these type of reporters. I hope the kid can get another interview in the future.
The question and answer is about the 3:55 mark on the tape. The question is what does a Vice President do?

You got to admit it rates kind of high on the cuteness scale.

It's Come to This: Obama As Toilet Art

There's just no escaping this crap.
A public toilet in Munich which has been transformed into an art museum has attracted hundreds of people in the first days after opening, a spokesman for the city's tourism agency said on Thursday.

Built in 1894, the toilet house was originally constructed to serve nearby households which lacked necessary facilities.

After being in use for over a hundred years, the toilets were locked up in 1992 because they were very rarely used.

"On the night we opened, around 800 people came to see our work," initiator of the museum project, Mathias Koehler told Reuters.

He said that a toilet was a great place for artistic expression because art is a form of relief in the same way that going to the toilet is.

The art exhibited is mainly graffiti often with a political theme. Examples include images of Barack Obama and German Chancellor Angela Merkel flanking a urinal in the corner of the room. Four artists contributed their work to the exhibition.
Great. Now you can look at Obama while taking a leak.

Infomercial Star: Hey, Suckers, Send Me Another Five Bucks

Good Lord, do the shakedowns ever end with this guy? What, that $600 million just isn't enough to buy an election with?
So last night Obama dumped several million bucks on several TV networks, which they don't mind, to talk at us slickly for 27 minutes about his change that we need.

And when that was over, pingo, here comes another e-mail from Windy City HQ. You'll never guess what. He wants more money. More. Still.

It was a blessedly short message. He called us by our first name and signed only his first name; so we must be pals. He put the entire fate of his historic campaign in our hands. "The campaign is in your hands," he wrote.

Which is a pretty big responsibility, on top of adjusting to a Pennsylvania team winning a World Series.

The good news is he only wants $5 from each of us this time. (But, alas, no car magnet this time.)

$605 million here. And $605 million there. Pretty soon, this change business is getting kinda expensive. And we haven't even gotten to the increased taxes part of any new administration.
He's got relatives living in squalor all over the planet, can't throw them a nickel, but wants everyone to keep sending him money.

But let's look at the upside. This time next year he'll just come take it from you, no questions asked, no solicitations required.

(Photoshop image via reader Tennyson).

Obama Dis-Informercial: The Truth Gets Chopped, Cut, Sliced and Diced

Funny how Obama's dis-infomercial last night didn't mention his poverty-stricken relatives.
The spot skipped lightly over Obama's family history, including his Kansas mom and Kenyan dad. Instead, stirring, somber music underscored the gravity of the situations faced by four struggling families in the crippled economy. Three live in swing states - Ohio, Missouri and New Mexico - and the other in Kentucky.

In Missouri, mom-of-four Rebecca Johnston opened her refrigerator to show how she parcels out her kids' snacks to make them last. The infomercial was a retrospective of Obama's campaign travels, including his convention address.

But there were mostly a sea of working-class faces in a mix of scenes: nodding as Obama spoke to them in a small group, as he sat at a kitchen table, as he toured a factory. The costly ad - a demonstration of Obama's massive financial edge over John McCain - never mentioned the GOP contender, showing him only in a clip of debate footage.

Toward the end, Obama said, "I will not be a perfect president. But I can promise you this: I will always tell you what I think and where I stand."
Really? OK, where do you stand on your campaign's credit-card fraud? How about ACORN's illegal activities? How about you pal Bill Ayers? Rashid Khalidi? How about having a press conference and answering some questions?

Can someone also explain to me why these liberals can never find anything good about America? For a guy who claims to be all about hope, he comes off awfully pessimistic.
The scenes of Obama addressing anxious Americans in living rooms might have been authentic, but they played as if they'd been staged and carefully cast.

They were the kinds of gauzy images, of the candidate getting up close and personal with his supporters, that you've seen a hundred times in campaign commercials.

In the end, last night's infomercial was like watching about 30 of those commercials all in one sitting, a tough slog for anyone, whether they believe in this candidate or not.
So much doom and gloom, even informercial stars panned it.
Two leading infomercial stars agree: Barack Obama's half-hour self-promotion last night was a flop.

"I don't see enough smiling. Doom and gloom totally," said Anthony Sullivan, one of the biggest names in infomercial history.

"I feel depressed right now," added Sullivan, an Englishman famous for his infomercials touting the Swivel Sweeper and Smart Chopper. The only thing saving Obama, Sullivan said, was when the candidate appeared live at the end speaking at a rally in Florida.

"I think it needed it. I was about to throw myself through a window because it was depressing," Sullivan said.

Are There Any Obama Relatives Not Living in Squalor?

A couple months ago we found out about George Hussein Obama getting by on $12 a year, living in a hut in Kenya. Now we discover The Messiah, a man who's shaken down supporters and credit-card scam artists to the tune of $600 million (and then some) has an aunt living in misery in Boston.
Barack Obama has lived one version of the American Dream that has taken him to the steps of the White House. But a few miles from where the Democratic presidential candidate studied at Harvard, his Kenyan aunt and uncle, immigrants living in modest circumstances in Boston, have a contrasting American story. Zeituni Onyango, the aunt so affectionately described in Mr Obama’s best-selling memoir Dreams from My Father, lives in a disabled-access flat on a rundown public housing estate in South Boston.

A second relative believed to be the long-lost “Uncle Omar” described in the book was beaten by armed robbers with a “sawed-off rifle” while working in a corner shop in the Dorchester area of the city. He was later evicted from his one-bedroom flat for failing to pay $2,324.20 (£1,488) arrears, according to the Boston Housing Court.

The US press has repeatedly rehearsed Mr Obama’s extraordinary odyssey, but the other side of the family’s American experience has only been revealed in parts. Just across town from where Mr Obama made history as the first black president of the Harvard Law Review, some of his closest blood relatives have confronted the harshness of immigrant life in America.

In his book Mr Obama writes that “Uncle Omar” had gone missing after moving to Boston in the 1960s – a quarter-century before Mr Obama first visited his family in Kenya. Aunt Zeituni is now also living in Boston, and recently made a $260 campaign contribution to her nephew's presidential bid from a work address in the city.

Speaking outside her home in Flaherty Way, South Boston, on Tuesday, Ms Onyango, 56, confirmed she was the “Auntie Zeituni” in Mr Obama’s memoir. She declined to answer most other questions about her relationship with the presidential contender until after the November 4 election. “I can’t talk about it, I just pray for him, that’s all,” she said, adding: “After the 4th, I can talk to anyone.”
What, she have a gag order on her? Funny how all the investigative reporters who brought us every minute detail of the lives of Sarah Palin and Joe the Plumber never manage to find Obama's relatives. It's takes a British paper to do this.

And why is it these wealthy liberals always seem to have relatives living in poverty?
A photograph of Ms Onyango was later shown to George Hussein Onyango, Barack Obama’s half-brother in Nairobi, who confirmed that it was their aunt. George Onyango, 26, the youngest child of Barack Obama Sr, said that he had spent weekends with his Aunt Zeituni when he was growing up, and instantly recognised her.

George Onyango said that his aunt had left for the US about eight years ago but sent him e-mails. “She left to find work and I suppose she thought her life would be better there,” he said. “She was kind and caring.”

In his memoir Mr Obama describes the joy of meeting his father’s family during his first visit to Kenya in 1988. Aunt Zeituni, then a computer programmer at Kenya Breweries in Nairobi, is portrayed as a feisty woman who proclaims herself “the champion dancer”. Uncle Omar, by contrast, remains a mysterious figure who left for America and never came back. At one point in the book a half-sister tells Mr Obama that people “like our Uncle Omar, in Boston” move to the West.

Obama Stumbles Across the Finish Line

An ad so stupid, it can only come from an Obamaton.

Last time I saw Obama on a bicycle, he wasn't moving too fast.

Although now apparently he's up for the kiddie rides.

Obama's Friends React to Primetime Infomercial

I had navel lint to gaze at during the Obama infomercial bought and paid for by fraudulent credit card donations, but late word is his buddies from the tiny countries were watching.

Hooters Announces Economic Stimulus Package

No really. Here don't take my word for it read the press release. This is certainly a stimulus package I can support.

In an unprecedented display of bipartisan cooperation, Hooters Girls reached across the aisle, working with their beloved regulars to pass a stimulus package that is not only cold and refreshing, but also fiscally responsible and undeniably patriotic. Jess the Hooters Girl was proud to achieve consensus: "$1 drafts will free up some cash in your budget for more critical needs, like the 2009 Hooters Swimsuit Calendar." Preliminary poll results indicate strong public support, particularly among independent and undecided swing state voters.

So, in the spirit and tradition of American ingenuity, Hooters encourages the residents of both Main Street and Wall Street to come together and support our economic recovery by visiting an RMD/Hooters Restaurant in Indiana, Kentucky, Ohio, and Tennessee to enjoy $1.00 Domestic Drafts, All Day, Every Day.

82-Year-Old Trades Drugs For Sex

Apparently he hung on to his Viagra. Have to give the old dude some credit here.
The number of young women hanging around 82-year-old Archie Anglin's home began to make Berea police officers suspicious in recent weeks.

At first, officers were worried that the young people, thought to be in their 20s, were taking advantage of Anglin because of his age.

But investigation revealed that Anglin had given two of the women OxyContin in exchange for sexual favors.

Archie Anglin was arrested Oct. 21 on charges of trafficking in a controlled substance. He was also charged with two counts of possession of a controlled substance after Berea Police Detective Lee Ann Roberts discovered what appeared to be 11 hydrocodone tablets and eight alprazolam pills, the generic form of Xanax, in an aspirin bottle when she served Anglin with a warrant for the trafficking charge, the arrest report states. Anglin had tried to hide the bottle under his mattress, Roberts wrote in the report.
Now charges have been dropped.

Which means only one thing: Party time at Archie's tonight!

Here's something the kids can use to help counter the shrill neo-coM bullshit they're getting non-stop at the friendly, neighborhood taxpayer-funded indoctrination center.

As we are painfully aware, kameraden Yo'bama takes to the airwaves tonight at 8PM to deliver a half-hour obfuscation of his Marxist 'conversion' of America. At the same time, the Biography Channel will air a 30-minute profile of Sarah Palin.

In the graphic above, note how in their Today's Featured Videos column, the Palin biography is listed at #3, directly above Satan.

Pure coincidence, I'm sure.

Obama: 'Uh, Um, Uh, I'm Sorry for Being Late'

Busy guy, I guess. Just try apologizing to the federal government when you don't pay your tax increases on time to fund the Obama welfare state.

'I'm Comin', Weezie'

Wow, how stupid can Obama get?
Before a largely African-American crowd in Raleigh, North Carolina, this afternoon, Sen. Barack Obama, D-Ill., said, "If Senator McCain is elected, we’ll have another President who wants to privatize part of your Social Security."

The crowd jeered.

"That ain't right," Obama said. "Can you imagine? If Social Security funds had been invested in the stock market, Americans wouldn't even need Social Security!

"You would be having Sanford and Son," the senator said, referring to the 70s sitcom featuring Redd Foxx as the proprietor of a junkyard.

"I'm comin', Weezie," he said, laughing, botching one of the signature lines from the show, in which Foxx clutched his chest in a mock heart-attack and prepared to meet his late wife in heaven.
Just one little problem. Weezie was married to George Jefferson. Fred Sanford used to say "I'm comin', Elizabeth."

What a dunce. He probably never even watched those shows. Too busy seeking out Marxist friends and getting stoned back then, I guess.

Seems to me Obama, of all people, should be painfully familiar with Sanford and Son.

Update: Michelle Malkin wonders how much ridicule Sarah Palin or John McCain would suffer if they botched such a cultural reference. Know this: It would never end.

It's noted here Obama deviated from his prepared script, proving once again he's hapless without his trusty teleprompter.
Obama departed from his prepared remarks in making the Sanford reference.
I wonder if the drive-by media will play this monster gaffe on an endless loop tonight and laugh at his idiocy?

LA Times Reveals Contents of Explosive Political Tape

Oh wait, this one was potentially damaging to a Republican, so it was OK.
In the sanctuary of his Capitol office with an audio recorder rolling, Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger describes Republican legislators as the “wild bunch” and, referring to a Latina lawmaker, casually says that “black blood” mixed with “Latino blood” equals “hot” – a fiery personality.

The governor is heard on a six-minute recording, obtained by The Times, of a meeting with some members of his inner circle last spring. At the time, Schwarzenegger was struggling to persuade Republican lawmakers to embrace his plan to place billions of dollars in borrowing on the November ballot.

It’s unclear why the session was taped, but Schwarzenegger occasionally records private meetings so that speechwriters, in particular, can keep a record of his thoughts and cadence. This audio recording mainly consists of relaxed banter among Schwarzenegger and a few aides, and it offers an unusually candid look at his administration when the doors are closed.
Via Drudge.

Funny, but when it comes to Republicans, they have no problems revealing contents of a tape.

But when it comes to Barack Obama, no can do. They're getting plenty of heat, but are trying to run out the clock for another six days.

Media bias? What media bias?

G-D Carpetbagger

Remember all the talk of how mean and angry John McCain is supposed to be? You know all those stories about how he was like a live hand grenade and could go off at any moment. Has anybody seen evidence of this through the whole campaign process? I din't think so. Well here is somebody who is angry and I hope he didn't talk to his mother with that mouth.
Go William Russell, beat this scumbag.

I am surprised a video exists of this exchange. I saw it last night when it aired.

H/T Hot Air ( Who else. They always find the good stuff)

High Comedy: 'Fox News Network' to Air Secret Michelle Obama Tapes

Don't you just love slapstick comedy?

Is there anyone alive buying this nonsense?
A final agreement has been reached between African Press International (API) and Fox News Network (USA) on the dates to air the Michelle Obama tape arising from a discussion Mrs Obama had with the API two weeks ago. The show will take place any day/time from now, with a 15 minutes alert on when it is to take place. Other programmes will be interrupted. This is a precaution taken to avoid interference from any quarter.

In the agreement, Fox News Network will broadcast 39 minutes of the 54 minutes long tape. The whole tape cannot be aired unedited due to security reasons and especially due to the explosive political temperature in the country because of the Presidential elections that is just around the corner, November 4th.

The tape will be aired in two portions by two separate units in the Network. API’s representative will appear live in one of the shows.
If you're trying to pull off a scam, at least get the name of the network right. Good grief. These clowns are more inept than Nigerian email spammers.

Granted, there are plenty of people out there who seem to enjoy chasing their tails, but this is just beyond stupid.

Far Left Crackpot: White Men Are Stupid to Vote Against 'Change'

Always a good way to get us on board the Change Express: By insulting us.

Rule of thumb when it comes to politics. Whoever Robert Scheer is voting for, make sure you go with the other candidate.

New York: A Preview of Things to Come

The incubator of all bad liberal ideas, New York state, is in even worse shape than thought now that the hapless Governor David Paterson has admitted the state faces a $47 billion deficit, which is $20 billion more than estimated just three months ago.

Naturally, Paterson is going begging to the federal government for help.
Gov. Paterson grimly declared yesterday that New York faces a historically unprecedented four-year, $47 billion budget deficit, $20 billion higher than projected just three months ago - and will need some form of federal bailout.

"In order to address these issues, as New York is really the epicenter of the national crisis of finance, we're going to need federal assistance," said Paterson , as he presented a six-month report on the state's current budget.

He is slated to testify before the House Ways and Means Committee today, "I will encourage our colleagues in government in Washington of the importance of stabilizing New York's economy, as it is a vital engine in the production of economic development in our national economy," Paterson continued.
That vital engine has been hemorrhaging jobs for several decades now, upstate New York from Albany to Buffalo is an economic basket case and the state government continues to play fast and loose with the number of state employees they continue to add to the payroll.
With the state’s finances souring, Gov. David A. Paterson in July took an important step to control the spiraling costs of government: a hiring freeze for state agencies.

But since the July 30 freeze was declared, 31,684 people have been hired by agencies, according to a Buffalo News analysis of payroll records provided by the state comptroller’s office.

The records do not include hiring at hundreds of state authorities whose payrolls are not maintained by the comptroller.

The numbers suggest the difficulties a governor can run into when trying to wrestle with personnel costs, since, no matter the economic challenges, public colleges still have to hire professors, mental health facilities still need nurses, and the transportation department still must have bridge inspectors.

But critics say the numbers also show a state unwilling to make serious sacrifices to close worsening budget gaps by going after one of the biggest cost centers of government: payroll.

“Clearly, it’s not a hard freeze,” said E. J. McMahon, director of the Empire Center for New York State Policy, a conservative think tank.
Talk about growing government during difficult economic times. Now, just multiply this exponentially and you'll get a taste of what we're in store for under the Obama-Reid-Pelosi-Frank federal government.

It won't be pretty.

Some suggest cutting the fat and holding down taxes, but that's a pipe dream.

Any hope of this ever coming under control is sheer fantasy. The productive are leaving the state in droves and those left continue voting for Democrats across the board. They ought to just be done with it and rename the Empire State the Welfare State.

Thief Steals Car To Get To Court

Anyone know how to spell stoopid?

Calif. man accused of driving stolen SUV to court

SAN ANSELMO, Calif. (AP) - Police have charged a man with stealing a Lexus SUV he drove to court the day a jury was to decide whether to convict him in a separate auto theft case.

The man, a 37-year-old San Francisco hairstylist, was arraigned Monday on charges of receiving a stolen vehicle and receiving stolen property after police saw him approach the stolen Lexus in front of the courthouse with its keys in hand.

Police were attracted to the SUV after bystanders noticed several Yorkshire terriers mulling around it.

The man was also charged with animal cruelty and leaving animals in an unattended vehicle.

Meanwhile, he was convicted in the other case. He was charged with possession of a $125,000 Porsche Carrera that had been stolen from a San Anselmo home.

Idiotic Headline of the Day: 'Can the 'black Jesus' escape an assassin's bullet? '

Geez, you'd think the United States was overrun by Klansman judging by this hysterical item from the Daily Mail. Two delusional losers threaten Obama we get nonsense like this.
Of still greater concern is the certainty that there are plenty more disaffected young white men out there who harbour the same depth of resentment towards him, and might be considerably more resourceful.

For it is one of the great ironies of this election campaign that, for all his powers to unite America's disparate racial and ethnic groups, Obama has polarised some sections of the public like no candidate before.

Travelling through many states, particularly in the South, it is uncomfortably easy to see why.

The Jim Crow Laws, which kept schools and public buildings segregated until as late as 1965, might have been consigned to a shameful chapter of America's past, yet it remains rare outside the big cities to see mixed-race marriages or mixed-race friendships.

Even among economically hard-pressed and war-weary voters who prefer Obama's promise of 'change' to McCain's own-brand conservatism, the reluctance to see a black man in the White House is palpable.

This intangible feeling of mistrust was summed up in one excruciating vignette when a pollster called on a Virginian family and inquired of the wife whom they would be supporting.

'Who we rootin' for?' the woman shouted to her husband.

'We're backing the n***er,' came the matter-of-fact reply.

In the face of such deeply entrenched prejudice, is it any wonder Obama is routinely - and quite groundlessly - described as a 'Muslim', simply because his middle name is Hussein and he attended an Islamic school for a while as a child, while living with his mother and her second husband in Indonesia?

Or that some believe he plans to run the country with covert advice from black-power extremists such as Nation Of Islam leaders Elijah Muhammad (a near neighbour in Hyde Park) and Louis Farrakhan.

Such rumours - from which McCain has distanced himself, but his running mate Sarah Palin has shamelessly stirred up - play into the hands of a white supremacist movement, which has enjoyed significant support in America since the early 20th century, when the Ku Klux Klan boasted more than four million members.
Of course none of these 'vignettes' of claims about Sarah Palin have any basis in truth, but why bother with the facts when we have hysteria to push?

Ohio Democratic Judge Allows Homeless to Use Park Benches as Valid Address

These hacks in Ohio are pulling out every last stop in their effort to get Barack Obama elected. Now a federal judge appointed by Bill Clinton has ruled the homeless can list park benches as their address when they're dragged to the polls by their friendly neighborhood Obama supporter.
A federal judge in Ohio has ruled that counties must allow homeless voters to list park benches and other locations that aren't buildings as their addresses.

U.S. District Judge Edmund Sargus also ruled that provisional ballots can't be invalidated because of poll worker errors.

Monday's ruling resolved the final two pieces of a settlement between the Northeast Ohio Coalition for the Homeless and Secretary of State Jennifer Brunner.
Sargus is also married to another judge in Belmont County, Ohio.

The two of them have been quite generous to Democrat candidates over the years. I'm sure that had nothing to do with this current travesty, of course.

New Ad Targets Murtha

The GOP is pouring some cash into the effort to unseat the increasingly erratic and unstable John Murtha from his House seat and this ad will begin running in the Pittsburgh are beginning Thursday. Spread it around so it gets maximum exposure.
The National Republican Congressional Committee, a national political organization which supports GOP candidates for the U.S. House of Representatives, confirms it will spend $84,000 on TV ads against Rep. John Murtha. The commercials will begin running on Pittsburgh TV affiliates Thursday.

The ads support Republican candidate William Russell, by highlighting some of the recent controversial statements by the veteran Johnstown Democrat. The commercial includes clips of the Congressman using the phrases "redneck" and "racist" to describe some Pennsylvanians.
I saw a clip of Murtha on Fox News this evening and he was bugging out, saying words to the effect that "no goddamn way" a "carpetbagger" is going to come into his district and win.

Well, at least he didn't directly call William Russell a racist redneck.

Also, as noted at the Russell Brigade, Fred Thompson has cut a 60-second radio ad promoting Russell.

Update: Here's the Fox News video from tonight.

Media Invents Another Joe the Plumber Story

Now here's the headline you'll probably see floating around today:

'Joe the Plumber' says support for Obama is vote for the 'death of Israel'

Just one minor little detail. Joe Wurzelbacher didn't say that. Good grief, can the headline writers at least read the copy submitted by the reporters?
Samuel "Joe the Plumber'' Wurzelbacher at his first campaign stop, sidestepped the economic message that his "Joe the Plumber Tour'' was designed to convey when he endorsed a statement made by a member of the audience in Columbus that "a vote for Obama is a vote to the death of Israel.''

"I agree with you,'' he said. "I really think that would be a problem.''

Rob Portman, a former Cincinnati congressman and White House budget director, served as emcee for Joe and the other "Joes'' that the tour was designed to highlight. He shook his head when asked after the Columbus event if he agreed that support for Mr. Obama was support for "death to Israel.''

He noted that the man who originally made the comment was not associated with the campaign. The man had identified himself as a Jewish senior citizen.
Wurzelbacher, like many others, likely agrees Obama wouldn't exactly be the best friends of Israel and considering his many raging anti-Semitic associates, that's a fair assessment.

More importantly, and more newsworthy, is the fact Wurzelbacher may be suing the goons who illegally searched through his records trying to smear him.
Mr. Wurzelbacher also said Tuesday he's considering a lawsuit over the fact that government workers have apparently searched some records pertaining to him since he challenged Barack Obama on his tax policy two weeks ago.

"I have contacted a lawyer,'' he said as he formally hit the political stump for the first time since his conversation with Mr. Obama in his Springfield Township driveway led to his name becoming synonymous with Republican John McCain's campaign.

"Other than that, that's as far as I've gone with it,'' he said. "I'd like to see justice done. That's just for other people who dare ask their elected officials a question. They shouldn't have to go through the scrutiny that I've gone through. It shouldn't have to bother their families the way it's bothered my family.''

Investigations are under way into why child support, driver's license, vehicle registration, and other computer records pertaining to Mr. Wurzelbacher had been accessed after he was thrust into the political limelight.
We know why they were accessed. Now just punish the offenders.

Michigan Democrats Urged to Call Phone Sex Line

You have to figure either way these people are going to get screwed voting for Democrats.
A flier sent by Michigan Democrats featuring a photo of Barack Obama that urged voters to submit an absentee ballot application includes a telephone number connecting callers to a phone sex line.

State party spokeswoman Liz Kerr said Tuesday a typo on the flier from the Michigan Democratic State Central Committee directed people with questions to call an incorrect number. Kerr says the party apologizes for the misprint.
Any photo of Carl Levin is sure to arouse voters.

All money collected by the phone sex operators immediately was directed to the Obama campaign coffers. Well, not really, but I'm sure they're looking for a cut.

And On the Eighth Day, It Rained On Obama

The One actually needed a raincoat. I figured the raindrops just bounced off him.
Gone were Obama's suit and tie. He wore jeans, sneakers and a waterproof raincoat. Still, shunning an umbrella, he got soaked. Obama later changed clothes before resuming his events.

McCain and Obama converged on Pennsylvania, a vote-rich state where Obama leads but McCain remains hopeful of a turnaround. Later, Obama was heading to Virginia, a longtime Republican state where he leads in polls.

Closing in on history, the front-running Obama has returned to broad, uplifting themes of change in hopes of ending the campaign in the most positive light.

The election is in one week.

Obama promised better days "if we're willing to reach deep down inside us, when times are tough, when it's cold, when it's raining, when it's hard — that's when we when stand up."

Hope, Change and Mace

These Obamatons just continue to bring us all together. Can't you just taste the change coming?
Two people were arrested Monday afternoon after an altercation led to five Republican campaign workers being sprayed with Mace at their headquarters in Galax.

Galax Police Chief Rick Clark said officers were dispatched shortly before 1 p.m. to the Galax Republican headquarters on East Grayson Street when a caller reported someone had sprayed office workers with Mace.

Responding officers arrested Daniel Cason Meinecke, 29, and Cara Annis Hindman, 26, both of Galax.

Meinecke was charged with one count of misdemeanor assault, Hindman was charged with five counts of misdemeanor assault.

Galax Republican Chairman Mike Stevens said he was one of the volunteers sprayed. He said a man and woman came into the office and asked for campaign yard signs for the Democratic ticket of Barack Obama and Joe Biden.

After being told the Obama-Biden campaign office was up the street, Stevens said, the man said he was aware of that, but that he thought Democratic signs were being stolen and “stashed” at the Republican office.

Stevens told him that nobody there had stolen signs, not were they “stashing” any in the building.

A confrontation escalated and, Stevens said, the man began to use some four-letter words.

Stevens said there were older women in the office and he asked the couple to leave the building.

“With the ladies in the office, I said that was enough and asked them to leave,” he said. “I told them, if they had a problem with someone stealing their signs they needed to contact the police department.”

Stevens said the couple replied that they weren’t leaving, and that they didn’t have to.

“I kind of moved them towards the door and he lashed out at me,” Stevens said. “So I lashed out at him.”

No punches were thrown, but instead the two simply held each other at bay, according to Stevens.

Once outside, Stevens said, the woman sprayed Mace on him and another volunteer before turning back to the office and spraying inside the building.

“It was surreal in the fact that I’ve had people in the past couple months come in and ask for signs. But to have an altercation like that just seems strange.”
Obama supporters acting strangely? Whodathunkit?
With the election of a new president coming in the next week, Stevens said the tension between Republican and Democrats has been elevated.

“We are more divided,” as a result, he said.
Yes, more divided than ever. And who is it doing the dividing?
Chief Clark said in a news release that Meinecke is alleged to have physically assaulted one of the Republican campaign workers; Hindman is alleged to have sprayed Pepper Mace that contaminated five Republican campaign workers.
Just getting in people's faces like Obama ordered them to do.

Unity!

Obama Stepmama Makes Inauguration Plans

Nothing like counting those chickens before they come home to roost. I wonder if his half-brother George will emerge from his Kenyan hut to come celebrate?
A modest housing estate in Berkshire is a far cry from the ostentatious grounds of the White House.

But Barack Obama's stepmother could be heading to the famous address if he clinches his predicted victory in seven days' time.

Kezia Obama, who lives in an end of terrace home in Bracknell, said she is already planning her trip to the US for his inauguration.

In an exclusive interview with the London Evening Standard newspaper, the 65-year-old said she was gearing up for his win by getting together with his relatives in Kenya - who will be throwing a street party on the day of the election.
...
'I knew he would go all the way. There is no doubt in my mind he is going to win it. He will be America's first black president and people will begin to respect the country once again after the Bush administration ruined its relations with the world.'

The grandmother of 10, who flew out to Nairobi on Saturday to join her three children - Auma, 48, Abo, 40, and Ben, 36 - for celebrations, added: 'I have been watching his debates on TV, staying up all through the night.

'I am excited to be in Kenya for the election night and results. We all want to be together that day. We are planning a huge street party.

We will be dancing in the streets when he wins. I will definitely be going to his inauguration when he becomes president.'

Mrs Obama, whose eldest child Abongo, 51, lives in America and is 'extremely close' to the 47-year-old presidential front runner, added: 'It makes me sad there are people out there who say they will never vote a black man for president.
'There is more to him than just his colour.'

Ian Manners, who is divorced from Mr Obama's half sister Auma, said part of Mr Obama's success was down to his ability to rise above those discriminating against him.

The 55-year-old businessman from Warfield, Berkshire, said he once told him how he was often stopped by police when driving his jeep in Chicago.

He said: 'Even when he had special number plates that only senators have, they would stop him because they thought he'd stolen it. But Barack did not allow this to be an obstacle to his success. He rose above it.'

Mr Manners added: 'He is a very determined guy. He will make a great president. He has humility and humbleness as well as great intellect.'
Somehow I've missed out on his humble humility.

U.S. To 'Talk' to Taliban?

Frankly, I can't see much being accomplished talking with these monsters. Seriously, how can they be trusted in any way?

Still, it appears there is high-level consideration here.
The U.S. is actively considering talks with elements of the Taliban, the armed Islamist group that once ruled Afghanistan and sheltered al Qaeda, in a major policy shift that would have been unthinkable a few months ago.

Senior White House and military officials believe that engaging some levels of the Taliban -- while excluding top leaders -- could help reverse a pronounced downward spiral in Afghanistan and neighboring Pakistan. Both countries have been destabilized by a recent wave of violence.

The outreach is a draft recommendation in a classified White House assessment of U.S. strategy in Afghanistan, according to senior Bush administration officials. The officials said that the recommendation calls for the talks to be led by the Afghan central government, but with the active participation of the U.S.

The idea is supported by Gen. David Petraeus, who will assume responsibility this week for U.S. policy in Afghanistan and Pakistan. Gen. Petraeus used a similar approach in Iraq, where a U.S. push to enlist Sunni tribes in the fight against al Qaeda in Iraq helped sharply reduce the country's violence. Gen. Petraeus earlier this month publicly endorsed talks with less extreme Taliban elements.

The final White House recommendations, which could differ from the draft, are not expected until after next month's elections. The next administration wouldn't be compelled to implement them. But the support of Gen. Petraeus, the highly regarded incoming head of the U.S. Central Command, could help ensure that the policy is put in place regardless of who wins next month's elections.

The proposed policy appears to strike rare common ground with both presidential candidates. Democratic nominee Sen. Barack Obama has said he thinks talks with the Taliban should be considered and has advocated shifting more military forces to Afghanistan. Republican contender Sen. John McCain supports, as part of his strategy, reaching out to tribal leaders in an effort to separate "the reconcilable elements of the insurgency from the irreconcilable elements of the insurgency," Randy Scheunemann, the campaign's top foreign-policy adviser, said Monday.
Simply put, the Taliban cannot be trusted b any means and any negotiation will them will be considered a victory for them and humiliating defeat for the United States. This is an absolute no-win situation.

I never thought I'd see myself in agreement with Barack Obama, among others, but considering how stabilized the situation is in Iraq, perhaps it's time for a massive redeployment of forces to Afghanistan to finish off the job there.

Meanwhile, U.S. forces reportedly killed a dozen of these mutants today after a Black Hawk was forced to land.

'The Only Network With More Letters In Its Name Than Viewers'

You, sir, have just earned yourself the title of Worst Person in the World.

How bad is it when even the left is tuning out MSNBC?
The cable news channel is "completely out of control," said writer-producer Linda Bloodworth-Thomason, a self-proclaimed liberal Democrat.

She added that she would prefer a lunch date with right-leaning Fox News star Sean Hannity over left-leaning MSNBC star Keith Olbermann.

Olbermann was criticized by many who attended Monday's luncheon sponsored by the Caucus for Producers, Writers & Directors at the Beverly Hills Hotel. The event was dubbed "Hollywood, America and Election '08."

Bloodworth-Thomason and others seemed especially critical of the way MSNBC -- and other media -- has attacked Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin while demeaning her supporters.

"We should stop the demonizing," she said, adding that Democrats have been worse than Republicans as far as personal attacks on candidates are concerned. "It diminishes us," she said of her fellow Democrats.

Bloodworth-Thomason even suggested a defense of Palin and her supporters should be written into TV programming, just as she went out of her way to portray Southern women as smart in her hit TV show "Designing Women."

Attendee Michael Reagan, the radio talk-show host and son of President Ronald Reagan, said he no longer will appear as a guest on MSNBC because "I actually get death threats."

"I'll stop sending them," joked Larry Gelbart, the writer, producer and director best known for the "M*A*S*H" television series and such movie screenplays as "Tootsie" and "Oh, God!"

Pollster Frank Luntz, a regular guest on the Fox News, joked that MSNBC is "the only network with more letters in its name than viewers."

Reminder to Stupid People: Don't Forget to Vote November 5

The oldest trick in the book.
A phony State Board of Elections flier advising Republicans to vote on Nov. 4 and Democrats on Nov. 5 is being circulated in several Hampton Roads localities, according to state elections officials.

In fact, Election Day, for voters of all political stripes, remains Nov. 4.

The somewhat official-looking flier - it features the state board logo and the state seal - is dated Oct. 24 and indicates that "an emergency session of the General Assembly has adopted the follwing (sic) emergency regulations to ease the load on local electorial (sic) precincts and ensure a fair electorial process."
I have to figure with those misspellings it was Democrats who put this one out there. Don't worry though, Democrats, your fearless leaders are on to this nefarious scheme.

Can't slip anything past them.

Activist Morons 'Deeply Concerned' Over Bali Bomber Executions

I've got your deep concern right here.
A MAJOR international human rights group today called on Indonesia's president to commute the death sentences of the three Islamic militants responsible for the 2002 Bali bombings.

New York-based Human Rights Watch said the death penalty was not an appropriate punishment for the three, despite condemning the terrorist attacks as "horrific and inexcusable acts".

It has written an open letter to Indonesia's President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono urging him to halt the executions.

"We write to urge you to commute the death sentences of Amrozi bin H. Nurhasyim, Ali Ghufron (aka Mukhlas), and Imam Samudera, three men who are facing imminent execution," Human Rights Watch wrote.

Indonesian officials last week announced the three men will face a firing squad over the attacks in early November.
...
It said Indonesia was a party to the International Convention on Civil and Political Rights which prohibits the use of retroactive criminal laws.

"We also note that there is no clear evidence that the application of the death penalty serves as a more effective deterrent against criminal activity than other forms of punishment."

The human rights group said it was "deeply concerned" Indonesia had recently begun increasing the rate of executions, contrary to a global trend against the use of the death penalty.
Yawn.

'I'd Rather Give It To Charity Than To Him'

Why, such an unpatriotic statement might cause the Obama goon squads to go rifling through your personal files, Mr. Huizenga.

Redistribution of wealth hits the NFL.
Dolphins owner H. Wayne Huizenga said Sunday no date has been set for selling up to 45 percent more of the team to Stephen Ross, but the presidential election is among the issues weighing on his decision.

That's because a Barack Obama administration is expected to mean higher capital-gains taxes.

"He wants to double the capital gains tax, or almost double it," Huizenga said. "I'd rather give it to charity than to him."

Ross purchased 50 percent of the team and Dolphin Stadium for $550 million earlier this year with the intention he would eventually become majority owner. NFL owners approved the eventual transfer this month, meaning it can take place anytime.

"If you do it this year or you do it next year, the difference is humongous because of the taxes," Huizenga said.

But the Obama campaign disputed Huizenga's figures on Monday, saying the candidate's plans are to raise the capital gains tax maximum from 15 percent to 20 percent -- a 33 percent increase, not double. And the top rate would be for families earning more than $250,000 or individuals earning more than $200,000.
An Obama spokesthing said "blah blah blah, 95% of working families, blah blah blah, Ronald Reagan, blah blah blah..."

To save you the time, Huizenga gives 82% of his contributions to the GOP. In other words, guys like him have a giant target on their backs.

'Chunky Diapers' Seized at Border

If anyone can figure out why someone would smuggle chorizo in diapers, feel free to hedge a guess. Maybe they had some special filling. Whatever the case, something stinks here.
Customs inspectors scored the makings of a barbecue when a 21-year-old South Texas woman declared several soiled baby diapers at a U.S.-Mexico border crossing.

Suspicious of the chunky diapers, inspectors with U.S. Customs and Border Protection at the international bridge in Hidalgo found several links of spicy pork sausage, or chorizo, inside. The diapers had been folded to look soiled, according to a customs agency statement.

Megyn Kelly Destroys Obama Hack

Hot blonds: The final line of defense between us and a media completely in the tank for Obama. Who can blame her getting the lame spin from this moron? Naturally, all bad news gets blamed on Fox. God help us if we have to see that puke Bill Burton on television the next four years.

More Restructuring at LA Times, 75 Staffers Redeployed to Unemployment Line

Stuff like this just breaks my heart. Though maybe Obama can redistribute some money to them from their corporate masters. I just hope the incriminating tape of Obama doesn't get lost while folks are packing up their belongings.
The Los Angeles Times plans to cut 75 jobs, or 10 percent of its news staff, a response to the world financial crisis that is exacerbating already painful advertising declines at U.S. newspapers.

The cuts are comparable in scale to some that the Times made on the business side of its operations last week, Editor Russ Stanton told employees in an e-mail message that the Times posted on its website on Monday.

"The growing economic downturn is forcing us to undergo another round of job reductions and cost cuts," Stanton wrote. "I appreciate your patience, understanding and cooperation during this difficult period."

It is the second round of news staff layoffs since a previous round was announced in July. The paper has offered buyouts and has cut back staff levels in its news operations from a high of some 1,200 a bit less than a decade ago.

A Times spokeswoman declined to comment on the news.

RIP, Dean Barnett

Sad news to note today.
It's my sad duty to report that our good friend and valued contributor Dean Barnett passed away today. He was a remarkable man--principled, witty, and to all of us, a model of grace and courage. We mourn his passing and cherish his memory.
I didn't know Dean personally, but we used to exchange email a lot several years ago, mostly good-natured trashtalk about the Yankees and his beloved Red Sox, as I got to know of him at his old blog.

Of course, he went on to much greater heights these past few years before sadly passing so young.

RIP, Dean.

Neo-Nazi Obama Plot Foiled

Frankly, this sounds like amateur hour, but you need to break these plots up before they go too far, obviously. Apparently these neo-Nazi punks planned to target a predominately black school and ultimately Barack Obama.
Federal agents have broken up a plot to assassinate Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama and shoot or decapitate 102 black people in a Tennessee murder spree, the ATF said Monday.

In court records unsealed Monday, federal agents said they disrupted plans to rob a gun store and target a predominantly African-American high school by two neo-Nazi skinheads. Agents said the skinheads did not identify the school by name.

Jim Cavanaugh, special agent in charge of the Nashville field office for the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, said the two men planned to shoot 88 black people and decapitate another 14. The numbers 88 and 14 are symbolic in the white supremacist community.

The men also sought to go on a national killing spree, with Obama as its final target, Cavanaugh told The Associated Press.

"They said that would be their last, final act—that they would attempt to kill Sen. Obama," Cavanaugh said. "They didn't believe they would be able to do it, but that they would get killed trying."

An Obama spokeswoman traveling with the senator in Pennsylvania had no immediate comment.

The men, Daniel Cowart, 20, of Bells, Tenn., and Paul Schlesselman 18, of West Helena, Ark., are being held without bond. Agents seized a rifle, a sawed-off shotgun and three pistols from the men when they were arrested. Authorities alleged the two men were preparing to break into a gun shop to steal more.
It's difficult to fathom anyone would be able to go on a nationwide spree and then target Obama, but obviously there are enough delusional people out there.

More here.
According to the Complaint, approximately one month ago, Cowart and Schlesselman met via the internet through a mutual friend and both claim to have very strong beliefs regarding "White Power" and "Skinhead" philosophy. Cowart and Schlesselman began discussing going on a "killing spree". The Complaint further alleges that Cowart and Schlesselman discussed robbing a gun shop (Federal Firearms Licensee) in order to gather weapons and ammunition. The Complaint notes the defendants were in possession of a sawed off shotgun.

On October 20, 2008, Cowart allegedly traveled from Tennessee to Arkansas to pick up Schlesselman in order to carry out their plan. The Complaint states that at this time, the defendants further discussed their killing spree to include targeting a predominately African American School and to continue their spree until their final act of violence which would be to attempt to assassinate Presidential Candidate Barack Obama. "The United States Secret Service takes all threats against Presidential Candidates seriously and is actively investigating the allegations," said Richard Harlow, Special Agent in Charge of the Secret Service-Memphis Field Office. "The Secret Service does not comment on this type of investigation."

The Complaint further notes that the defendants stated that they would be willing to die during this attempt. According to the Complaint, after soliciting a friend, to drive their car, between 11:00pm on October 21, 2008 and 2:00am on October 22, 2008, the defendants made plans to rob a house but were diverted when they arrived and observed a dog and two cars at the location. Cowart and Schlesselman then dropped Stafford back off at her residence and then went to a local retail store and allegedly purchased nylon rope and two ski masks.

"It is critical that the alleged plot was interrupted," said James Cavanaugh, Special Agent in Charge of ATF. "We give credit to the Deputies of Crockett and Haywood Counties. All forces of law enforcement have come together to stop this threat."

The Defendants were arrested on October 22, 2008 by the Crockett County Sheriff's Office. "Once we arrested the defendants and suspected they had violated federal law, we immediately contacted federal authorities, " said Sheriff Troy Klyce of Crockett County. "The Sheriff's Department is committed to keeping Crockett County a safe place for our all of citizens."
Naturally, the HuffPosters leap to wild conclusions.

Well thank God these were a couple idiots as indicated that they had swastikas painted on their cars.

But they were serious enough to have created a threat to blacks in the area.

Hopefully this will keep the FBI and Secret Service on their toes. I worry about Obama's safety and I condemn Palin for giving speeches that motivate the unstable to act on her commands and hate-filled speeches.

I'm not worry about this plot. I'm worry about the fact that the current administration is a criminal regime and if the Democrats win many of them may find themselves in legal jeopardy. Also, after having put in place a fascist infrastructure during the last eight years, I'm just waiting for the other shoe to drop. This Bush regime is a criminal regime and I fear what they may have in store before the election. There are pages and pages of this.
