But obviously fairness to them just means "whatever I want." The more relevant question for the unions should be, is it remotely smart politically to keep pretending their 1930s/1960s rhetoric and pre-meltdown demands are palatable to the voters? It should be abundantly obvious that it isn't. But the public employees' unions, and many or most of their members, seem so steeped in a permanant consciousness of entitlement that they can't see this. They can't see that their cries of "fairness" are falling on the deaf ears of voters who can clearly see no fairness at all in the unions' demands. And they can't see that their tactics have some time ago jumped the shark politically.

This is to the good, I think. The unions in Jersey, Wisconsin and elsewhere seem unable to help themselves see beyond their unsustainable self interest. they are therefore revealing themselves to the voters for who they really are. Who knows, maybe even Californians, Illinoians and New Yorkers will some day wake up to the truth about the unions.Victor Erimitanoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-37193330.post-63636321370419477432011-06-17T10:30:03.000-04:002011-06-17T10:30:03.000-04:00Why are you folks still living in NJ or NY?
