Obama Meets With Soros as The Pantsuit Gears Up

Forget any notion that Barack Obama, media darling, is any kind of moderate, centrist, whatever the current lingo is. When you're meeting up with a devout anti-American, you lose any credibility from this vantage point. Sounding like Al Sharpton doesn't help either.

Senator Barack Obama treaded onto Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton's home turf last night to meet with prominent Democratic donors and feel out those who might prefer the sound of President Obama to President Clinton (as in Hillary, not Bill).

Amid intensifying presidential musings by Mr. Obama and Mrs. Clinton, Mr. Obama met with George Soros, the liberal billionaire philanthropist, and then some other donors last night at Mr. Soros's offices.

One of the donors who met with Mr. Obama, and who spoke on condition of anonymity because he did not want to offend Mrs. Clinton, said that he and several others had supported Mrs. Clinton's Senate campaigns but were not committed to her as a presidential candidate.

First of all, New York is not her home turf. She was raised in Illinois, went to college in New England, and then spent many years freeloading off the people of Arkansas before carpetbagging her way into New York. The irony here is if she just went back to Illinois to run for the Senate, nobody would know who Barack Obama is.

Still, watching The Pantsuit Queen carefully tread around Obama, deathly afraid of being called racist, is rather amusing.

Meanwhile, she can deny it as much as she wants, but she is running, have no doubts about it.

Ironically enough, when Obama showed up in New York last night to tread on the carpetbagger's turf, the lights went out.

HILLARY, you can come out from under your desk.

Barack Obama, the presidential contender with the "Say What?" name and megawatt smile, came out last night to electrify New York. He stuck his finger in the socket instead.

I don't know if the hand some senator from Illinois was suffering from jet lag or stage fright, or if Hillary Clinton was messing with the lights - which mysteriously went black during his post-charity dinner press conference, the precise second I mentioned her name.

Obama zoomed deep into Hillary Country for his debut in our moneyed midst - making sure to quote both Bobby Kennedy and Ronald Reagan. But his message sounded more Al Sharpton.

This should be fun. As long as neither of them ever becomes President.
