Iranian, Chinese weapons seized in Afghanistan
HERAT, Afghanistan (AFP) - Afghan authorities said they had seized dozens of Iranian and Chinese-made weapons after a brief battle Saturday with Taliban fighters near the border with Iran.Of course, they've also been supplying al Qaeda in Iraq, so this is no shock, but more than enough reason to take out Ahmadinejad and his regime of terror.
The weapons found in the western province of Herat included about 40 mines and rocket-propelled grenades, the government's intelligence agency said in a statement.
They were found in a vehicle that Taliban fighters abandoned following an exchange of fire in the province's Ghoryan district on the Iranian border, it said.
"The weapons were seized after Taliban escaped and left one of their vehicles behind with the weapons," it said.
An intelligence official told AFP separately and on condition of anonymity that the arms appeared to have been manufactured in Iran and China.
Instead, we'll have nitwits at Columbia University and the National Press Club slobbering over him this week.
It should also be made clear to the Chinese this won't be tolerated, but I doubt whether we'll hear any strong language.

Iran Is Arming Taliban, Admiral Says
KABUL — A top American commander today yesterday Iran of supplying powerful roadside bombs to militants in Afghanistan and said America would "act decisively" if the cross-border flow continues.
Heavy battles in the violence-plagued south, meanwhile, killed 75 Taliban and at least six civilians, and a suicide car bomb in the capital killed a French soldier and an Afghan bystander.
Admiral William Fallon, the head of U.S. Central Command, said Iran's Revolutionary Guard is supplying roadside bomb parts for the type of sophisticated and deadly bombs found in Iraq known as explosively formed penetrators.
"The Iranians are clearly supplying some amount of lethal aid," Admiral Fallon said during a trip to Afghanistan. "There is no doubt ... that agents from Iran are involved in aiding the insurgency."
Admiral Fallon said America was carefully watching the flow of weapons from Iran and said America would "act decisively" if the cross-border flow continues.
