Pantsuit to Rangel: Please Shut Up

Charlie? Yeah, it's me, the Dragon Lady. Um, could you please not mention cheating husbands?

You know you're way out there when even Mrs. Clinton thinks you're off your rocker.
Hillary Rodham Clinton is distancing herself from explosive comments by Harlem congressman Charles Rangel, a key power broker in her campaign, ripping rival Rudy Giuliani's personal life.

Referring to Giuliani's strained relationship with his son, Andrew, since Giuliani's breakup with Donna Hanover, Rangel said, "Sons respect and admire their fathers, but they love their mothers against cheating goddamn husbands."

Asked in Iowa whether she had any response to Rangel's broadside, Clinton told ABC News, "I don't" - despite Rangel having been instrumental to her campaign.

Clinton campaign spokesman Phil Singer said, "These kinds of comments have no place in the campaign."

Rangel, whose comments appear in tomorrow's New York Observer, also said it would have been better of Giuliani's personal problems came up later in the campaign.
It's ugliness like this which will cost Clinton dearly.

Meanwhile, a new poll shows half the country can't stand Clinton.
Half of likely voters nationwide would never vote for Hillary Rodham Clinton in next year's presidential election, a poll released yesterday reveals.

Nearly 50 percent of 10,000 registered voters surveyed ruled out supporting New York's junior senator, according to the Zogby Interactive poll.

That is up from the 46 percent who said in March that they'd refuse to vote for her.
This means only one thing. Look for the Clinton Machine to surreptitiously push a third party candidate into the race.

It may be their only hope.
