While here in Atlanta he still has not been brought to trial for these killings mostly because of the manuevering of the judge appointed to ironically replace the judge who was killed. It seems this judge has an aversion to the death penalty and in an effort to make the cost of the trial so expensive that the prosecutors will drop the death penalty has been allowing millions of dollars of taxpayer funds be spent on his defense as well as granting one delay after another.
Arguing that the Nichols case was extraordinary, Fuller ordered early on that Nichols would be represented by four lawyers, instead of the usual two for death penalty cases. He also ordered that several of the lawyers would be paid higher rates than the Georgia Public Defender Standards Council typically pays in indigent cases.
Well folks are getting fed up and now there is a movement to get this judge removed.
