LDS Church Joins Fight to Stop Gay Marriages in California

That would be the Mormons for those of you that don't know. The Mormons are on the side of most other Christian religions on this issue, excluding the Episcopalians. The main reason I wanted to post this item is not to weigh in on the gay marriage debate, but to scold evangelicals who attacked Mitt Romney during his presidential bid. If they had taken off their blinders they just might have discovered that there isn't a lot of difference between the two. I always maintained that Mitt's religion was not a negative to me, and in fact, in looking at the values that most Mormons not only talk about but actually live, I hold them in high respect.

I am often left wondering how different the Republican primary would have turned out if not for the blind allegiance to the Huckster by the religious conservatives. It is because of them voting en masse in the south for Huckabee and pushing Fred Thompson to either a second or third place finish in those states that we are now stuck with McLame.

Oh well, no sense crying over spilled milk.

I just wanted the evangelicals to know that the group that you smeared and attacked with vicious rumors now just might be the group you need to help you in California to overturn the gay marriage free-for-all in that state.
In a statement to be read in California churches Sunday, LDS President Thomas S. Monson, with his counselors in the governing First Presidency, Henry B. Eyring and Dieter F. Uchtdorf, say Mormon teachings on the issue "are unequivocal."

"Marriage between a man and a woman is ordained of God, and the formation of families is central to the Creator's plan for his children," the statement says.
The whole article is in the Salt Lake City Tribune, and what struck me is the number of comments, quite a few, in fact I would say the majority, are against this action being taken by the church. It would seem the gay coalition is out in full force on this gay marriage amendment and they are crushing dissent or opposition wherever they find it. I find it hard to believe that an article in a newspaper in the heart of Mormon world would draw so much negative attention, which is why I say the gay community is actively out on search and destroy missions. Since the national media is so easily duped and has become the useful tool of every left-leaning group, not to mention the Islamic propaganda machine, I would not expect much coverage in those outlets which show anything but positive things to say about gay marriage and poll after poll, and surveys all saying what a great thing everybody in California thinks gay marriage is.

How dare you think I'm bitter because Fred! isn't the Republican candidate.
