There is a show on the History Channel called the Ice Road Truckers. They are a hearty band of truck drivers who every year brave the subzero conditions of the Canadian Arctic territory to deliver supplies and equipment to businesses ranging from diamond mines to oil rigs across the frozen rivers and oceans of the Arctic.
Well, they have just shot down one of the biggest arguments the Democrats have for not drilling: that being how long it would be before we could get to the oil or natural gas under the ice in the Arctic National Wildlife Preserve. In an amazing 40 days--yes, you read that right--40 days, they moved a natural gas drilling facility about 100 miles to a new location and had it up and operational. That is slightly over a month where they moved a site. Everything from the drill rigs to the buildings to all of the infrastructure and the rig was operational once again.
Go here to see the amazing story of these guys and send a clip from last night's episode to the Congress critter of your choice to show what can be done with determination.
Canada certainly isn't arguing about when, where, or how to drill and the country owes a big thank you to the guys like Hugh Rowland, the Polar Bear, Alex and everybody else who braves the -40 degree temperatures to make this happen.
