Obama May Be On Vacation, But Obamedia Still Working Overtime

Is the media so out of touch with reality that they don't believe forfeiture of their credibility matters?

After the humiliation of the John Edwards coverup, you'd think the editors of news organizations would step back and reassess their place on the political scene.

An excellent case of rank media bias is this Reuters Blogs item today covering a campaign event by John McCain.

There not even an attempt at playing it straight, as starting with the first sentence, the author promotes an outright falsehood.
After a week of slamming his opponent in a barrage of controversially negative advertisements, U.S. presidential hopeful John McCain spoke for more than 20 minutes Monday without mentioning Barack Obama by name once.
Controversially negative?

Who says? Obama? The media?

Was there a single ad in the past week that was controversial in your mind? I can't think of any. Was there a single ad where the McCain team took liberties with the truth and made false claims?

No, there wasn't.

But since the media is portraying Obama as a victim of negative attacks, none of this matters. Their guy is being ridiculed; hence, it's controversial.

Naturally, this "reporter" manages to find someone who wants to hear about the issues, not the alleged bickering.
I want to hear more about the issues, not bickering between the candidates,” said Ron Holden, a locomotive assembly worker who listened to the Republican senator from Arizona address staff at a large GE Transportation plant here.

“I don’t want to hear about what Obama’s been doing from McCain and I don’t want to hear about McCain from Obama,” said Holden, a registered Democrat who said that he was undecided about which way he would vote in November.
Well, sorry, Mr. Holden. If it weren't for McCain, would you hear even the slightest negative item about Obama from the media?

Are you that naive? And since when is it up to the candidates on a stump speech to fill you in on the details? Are you so helpless you can't find the information on your own?
McCain did aim one nuanced blow toward his Democratic rival, recalling Obama’s comment about bitter small town Americans clinging to their guns and their church.
Wow, I'm surprised the author didn't have a fit over Obama being quoted.

Appropriately enough, the author's name is Alister Bull.
