One More Reason Not To Go Into Politics


“The babelicious lobbyist factor has definitely diminished,” said state Rep. Stephanie Benfield (D-Atlanta). “Heels have gotten shorter; skirts have gotten longer.”

The Georgia legislature, still reeling from the resignation of their House leader after it was revealed he had carried on an affair after a failed suicide attempt, and amid constant reporting of numerous members who have evaded paying their taxes, are on a ethics reform kick.

For the most part this type of attention to ethics is a good thing, and unlike the Nancy Pelosi version of ethics reform, real measures are being taken to clean up their act in Georgia.
