Oh, I'm just sure the teachers had nothing to do with
this pathetic display.
Students at Teaneck High School staged a walkout this morning protesting the defeat of the school's budget, a report on NorthJersey.com said.
By 8:20 a.m., a crowd outside the entrance ballooned form about two dozen to almost the entire school, according to the report. The protest ended at 9:30 a.m., but not before students walked around the track outside the school, the report said. Students said they would go to council meeting to keep cuts to a minimum. The $95 million budget proposal would have increased the school tax rate by 8 percent.
Gov. Chris Christie, who has urged school districts to check spending and teachers to accept pay freezes, won a major victory as voters in most towns appeared to have rejected school budgets in elections Tuesday.
Judging by the comments some of them are leaving at the story, they clearly aren't learning much and obviously should be spending more time in class.
I go to this school and attended the protest.
The teacher did not plan anything, they had no idea that anything was going to happen this morning. We have ideas and opinions and think that we diverse a say in our future education. They are trying to cut all extracurricular activities and honors classes making the students undesirable to ANY college.
All we did was simply apply our constitutional right to assemble.
I think that you should do more research on the teaneck budget impartiality before criticizing the actions of those of us informed.
Huh?
