A 31-year-old Bellevue woman was arrested Saturday morning on suspicion of DUI just hours before she was to be married, the Washington State Patrol reported. She sounds like quite a catch.
The woman was pulled over just after 6 a.m. by a state trooper after she was caught speeding at more than 90 mph on northbound Interstate 405 near NE 8th Street while weaving in and out of her lane.
When the trooper stopped her she told him she was heading home from her bachelorette party in Issaquah, and she was getting married in Burien early Saturday afternoon.
The bride admitted she had been arrested once before for DUI, and she was familiar with the routine, the State Patrol reported.
The woman's blood alcohol level was .146 percent - nearly twice the legal limit. Troopers let her go home in a cab so she could make her wedding.
So let's see. We've got a repeat offender doing 90 at 6 am while nearly twice the legal limit and the police just let her get in a cab? Maybe if they locked her up like anyone else would have been and she'd learn a lesson. Instead she's probably sleeping off a wedding night hangover right about now.
