Britain’s Advertising Standards Authority ordered an Italian ice cream company to stop running a print ad showing two hot male priests about to kiss passionately before sharing a tub of ice cream. If the first image isn't offensive enough, they're getting perilously close to porn with this one.
In the ad for Antonio Federici gelato, which ran in Look magazine, two chiseled men in black cassocks and clerical collars embrace “in a seductive pose as if they were about to kiss passionately,” the ASA said in a statement.
One of the men is wearing rosary and grips a spoon. The other cradles a small container of caffe espresso-flavor gelato. Text in the ad reads, “We Believe in Salivation.”
Some consider it humor. Ha ha ha!
“Anyone who has seen the Antonio Federici ads knows that they are mildly humorous, in no way threatening, abusive or insulting. It is entirely wrong that these advertisements have been banned by such an unaccountable body, which needs to be reined in.”OK, if they're so humorous, how about we have an ad with the Prophet Mohammed getting it on with his child bride Aisha while enjoying some ice cream? It would be a real knee-slapper seeing the creators go into hiding while facing death threats from peace-loving Muslims, wouldn't it?
