In addition to radio and television ads, the Wisconsin chapter of the AFL-CIO is out in force this week in Madison, renting buses to bring in union members, buying food and water for protesters in and outside the State Capitol, and urging its members to call legislators urging them to vote against Gov. Scott Walker's budget-repair bill.Believe it or not, the Trumka is on Obama's Economic Recovery Advisory Board and works hand in hand with the Communist Party.
An AFL-CIO official confirmed the lobbying and organizing efforts, which comes as no surprise given the group represents more than 1,000 locals in Wisconsin.
The official declined to provide specific details, but the efforts are not hard to miss in Madison. Walk down some of the side streets leading to the Capitol, and you'll find buses unloading workers headed to the Capitol, placards and posters in hand.
Additionally, Organizing for America, the White House political operation, has been involved. Their efforts seem to be echoing what the AFL-CIO is doing. The group did not return calls seeking comment.
