'Heaven Knows That’s Bad Enough But the Truth is He is Acting More the Love Child of Sarah Palin and Donald Trump'

Palin Derangement Syndrome goes international. This keeps up and Andrew Sullivan might start believing Trump is Trig's daddy.
JULIA Gillard has described Tony Abbott of acting "like the love child of Sarah Palin and Donald Trump".

The Prime Minister was speaking at the State Labor Party Conference at Monash University today.

Comparing the Liberal leader with the moose-shooting “soccer mom’’ and the American billionaire Mr Trump, the Prime Minister rallied the Labor troops in Victoria to continue prosecuting the case for a carbon tax.

And she has reminded the Coalition she has no intention of going to the polls early, predicting the Government will go full term to 2013.

"Tony Abbott has said of himself that he is John Howard and Bronwyn Bishop’s political love child,’’ she said.

“Heaven knows that’s bad enough but the truth is he is acting more the love child of Sarah Palin and Donald Trump."

Ms Gillard then reprised the words of US President Barack Obama who recently mocked Mr Trump for his demands to produce a birth certificate to prove he was not born overseas.

“So let me reply to his increasingly hysterical fear campaign with President Obama's words to his nation when answering the hysteria about his birth certificate,’’ Ms Gillard said.

We do not have time for this kind of silliness.

“We don’t have time for the politicians and shock jocks who deny the scientific conclusions of NASA and the CSIRO. We don’t have time for made-up figures and shameless fear-mongering.http://www.blogger.com/img/blank.gif

“We are a nation determined to do our bit to tackle climate change and urgently needing to make a start to build the clean energy economy of the future.”
She hasn't got time for silliness, then she quotes Obama. OK.

The desperation is palpable.
Ms Gillard’s comments follow a Galaxy Poll published in Queensland’s Courier Mail yesterday that found Labor's primary vote has crashed to 28 per cent.

Mr Abbott has also pulled in front of Ms Gillard as preferred prime minister by a strong 16 percentage point margin according to the state-based poll.
Tim Blair continues his countdown.
