'It's My General Feeling That People Who are 20, 21, 22 Years Old Really Don't Have Any Social Values'

It's long been my feeling the left in general lacks social values, not just those in their early twenties. But since we've long been lectured by our moral superiors not to judge anyone by their values, well, we just keep our opinions to ourselves. Although now and then we have to applaud the rare Democrat who's willing to come out and speak a blunt truth. He's fortunate to have that "D" after his name since he'd be in for widespread condemnation if he were a Republican.
Sen. Jay Rockefeller, D-WV, suggested at a Senate hearing Thursday that young people lack "social values."

"It's my general feeling that people who are 20, 21, 22 years old really don't have any social values," Rockefeller told a representative of Facebook. The West Virginia senator pointed to this as the reason that the founder of the company, 27-year-old Mark Zuckerberg, did not put more of a focus on privacy issues.
Granted, his statement is grossly unfair to the millions of young Americans who lead a values-based life and cannot be stereotyped into some caricature.
Rockefeller and many other senators say technology companies aren't doing enough to protect privacy and say its time for the government to step in and set minimum privacy standards. Facebook argues that putting more limits on the use of consumer data will hurt the company.
Since Zuckerberg is fast friends with the man-child in the White House, expect him to get his way. As to those without any values and concern for privacy, they'll figure it out eventually, probably the hard way.
