Al Qaeda Attack Thwarted Near Pentagon

What a horrific shame that meanie Peter King has been holding hearings on homegrown Islamic radicalization.

Wait, what?
Authorities found al Qaeda-related statements, a backpack containing ammonium nitrate, and spent 9mm shells Friday after stopping a suspicious vehicle close to the Pentagon and arresting a man, ABC's "Good Morning America" reported.

Pentagon Police arrested one person Friday and closed several roads around the US Department of Defense headquarters after officers stopped a suspicious vehicle and discovered a backpack believed to contain ammonium nitrate, FOX News Channel reported.

The vehicle was stopped about 6:00am local time Friday. Police were searching for one, or possibly two, other people who fled the vehicle when it was stopped by police, local news channel WRC-TV reported.

A source told FOX News Channel that the backpack was found outside of the vehicle, and that the arrested man was a naturalized US citizen who came to the US from Ethiopia.

The car -- which remained parked in bushes off Washington Boulevard -- was cleared by authorities, however the backpack, believed to contain ammonium nitrate, was not.

A Pentagon Police spokesman said that an explosives team was called in to investigate the vehicle. The FBI was also involved in the investigation.
But don't forget, climate change is the greatest threat to mankind or something.

Update: A commenter at MSNBC has fingered the obvious culprits.
Can you say tea party?
Well, um, no, not exactly.

Obviously, arresting an Ethiopian is racist.

Just want to point out that ammonium nitrate is the most major consitutent of "Miracle Gro" and its in most commercial fertilizers.

By itself its neither dangerous nor illegal to have this.

  2. @Mr. Transparent, By itself it is neither illegal nor dangerous to fly a Boeing 757 but then when you mix in al Qaeda associations perhaps there is something to be concerned about, no?

  3. It's obvious what's going on here. The racist Tea Party is recruiting black immigrants to use as cannon fodder in a new war against the government. The orchestrated the entire Weiner affair as a distraction.

Don't laugh, someone at Kos will suggest this.

Don't laugh, someone at Kos will suggest this, and will accuse Breitbart of masterminding it.</span>

Does this Marine know Col. Nidal M. Hasan?  He's the Muslim who slaugtered our troops at Ft. Hood.  But Obama's administration assures us that this man wasn't an Islamic terrorist.  Nothing to see here either...move along.....no connection to terrorism here.
