Republicans have tried to work with Democrats to solve the debt crisis, but "behind the scenes" Democrats insisted on huge tax increases, Sen. Jon Kyl (R-Ariz) said Saturday. They're addicts and quite obviously won't be going into spending rehab any time soon.
"Unfortunately, after weeks of negotiations, it became clear that Democrats in Washington did not view this crisis as an opportunity to rein in spending," Kyl said in the GOP's weekly address. "Instead, they saw it as an opportunity to impose huge tax increases on American families and small businesses."

Let's give shock collars a try. Give every American taxpayer a trigger.
UST AS OBVIOUS - MOST GOP just want SLIGHTLY SMALLER LARGE INCREASED SPENDING. At best, they are ENABLERS of Marxist Policies - at worst, they are a SOP to the VOTERS to make the Voters THINK they are accomplishing something in their battle against Dim Marxists - but in fact are the enemy within the within.
"There are two ways to acquire the niceties of life: to produce them or to plunder them. When plunder becomes a way of life for a group of men living together in society, they create for themselves in the
course of time, a legal system that authorizes it and a moral code that glorifies it." - Frederic Bastiat
