There Are White Sovereign Citizens?

Well this goes to show how our views on some things are crafted by events close to home.

"60 Minutes" recently did a piece on a group of people who refer to themselves as sovereign citizens. With the exception of mentioning Wesley Snipes who they say spouts some sovereign citizen rhetoric and the picture on a phony driver's license of a black women you would have come away with the impression that this group is a band of white domestic terrorists.

I was very surprised. Around Georgia we have had several sovereign citizens make the news but they have always been black. I always thought this was sub culture within the African American community.


So while CBS leaves the viewer with the impression of a far right wing libertarian group, dare we say close cousins of the Tea Party folks, for years I always thought it was a black community phenomenon. Wonder why they left our sovereign citizens out of their reporting?

I nearly fell out of my chair tonight when 60 Minutes admitted this. Yes, 60 Minutes.

You can bet the White House and their lackeys will be all over them tomorrow. This isn't news the Democrats need America to hear nine days out of an election.

'60 Minutes' of Obama

Watching football today the commercial promos are inescapable. They're devoting all 60 minutes to him.

I'm sure it'll be hard-hitting stuff.

Yawn. I'll assume it's just a repackaged rehash of previous segments spent fawning over him.

Lara Logan, In-Bedded Reporter

Looks like CBS has a mess on their hands, and what do you know, a website scooped the entire media on this story six months ago.

Sexy CBS siren Lara Logan spent her days covering the heat of the Iraq war - but that was nothing compared to the heat of her nights.

The "60 Minutes" reporter and former swimsuit model apparently courted two beaus while she was in Baghdad, and has been labeled a homewrecker for allegedly destroying the marriage of a civilian contractor there, sources said.

Passions got so hot in the combat zone that one of her lovers, Joe Burkett, brawled in a Baghdad "safe house" with her other paramour, CNN war reporter Michael Ware, a source said.

The wife of Burkett, a US Embassy worker, claims the sultry 37-year-old correspondent seduced him while bullets flew overhead.

Burkett's wife, Kimberly, also accuses Logan of teaming up with him to take her 3-year-old daughter away, according to the source.

A close pal of Logan, who confirmed the allegations to The Post, said Burkett's marriage to Kimberly was already finished six months before they sparked up a relationship.

"She is not the cause of their divorce," the friend told The Post yesterday.

"It was going to happen."

The pal also said Logan was particularly hurt by the comments because she had met Kimberly Burkett and thought the two were "friendly."

Kimberly filed for divorce from her husband in January in a court near their hometown of Fredericksburg, Texas.

The husband, 36, and wife, 32, are now battling over custody of toddler Ashley.

Pals of Logan said that the divorce attorney is just grandstanding by dragging the rising television star into the Texas couple's split.

"Lara is not part of their divorce proceedings," a friend said.

"The simple truth is that this was a marriage that was breaking up. And that's the bottom line."

As for the other claims, pals admitted that Logan had a one-time fling with CNN reporter Ware - but denied that there was any sort of fight between him and Burkett in Baghdad.

"There was no screaming match," the pal said.

Tale of the love fight first broke on the freerepublic.com in December.

Howard Kurtz gushed over Logan being a rapid riser a couple of years ago. Apparently she knows how to get a rise out of others.

She has conveniently now been given an assignment in Washington.

Scalia to Morons: It's Time You Got Over the Florida Recount

Over seven years now and the nitwit leftards are still whining about it.

People who believe the U.S. Supreme Court’s decision giving the 2000 presidential election to George W. Bush was politically motivated should just get over it, says Justice Antonin Scalia.

Scalia denies that the controversial decision was political and discusses other aspects of his public and private life in a remarkably candid interview with 60 Minutes correspondent Lesley Stahl, this Sunday, April 27, at 7 p.m. ET/PT.

"I say nonsense," Scalia responds to Stahl’s observation that people say the Supreme Court’s decision in Gore v. Bush was based on politics and not justice. "Get over it. It’s so old by now. The principal issue in the case, whether the scheme that the Florida Supreme Court had put together violated the federal Constitution, that wasn’t even close. The vote was seven to two," he says, referring to the Supreme Court’s decision that the Supreme Court of Florida’s method for recounting ballots was unconstitutional.

Furthermore, says the outspoken conservative justice, it was Al Gore who ultimately put the issue into the courts. "It was Al Gore who made it a judicial question…. We didn’t go looking for trouble. It was he who said, 'I want this to be decided by the courts,'" says Scalia. "What are we supposed to say -- 'Not important enough?'" he jokes.

The Goracle: Global Warming 'Deniers' are Flat Earthers

Despite mounting evidence contrary to his hysterical proclamations, bloated former politician Al Gore, he of the massive carbon footprint and $30,000 utility bills, is still clinging to his discredited theory of global warming.

Now this embittered clown has the temerity to give an interview to 60 Minutes where he declares those who don't buy his nonsense are akin to those who believe the earth is flat and don't believe man landed on the moon in 1969.

Self-avowed "P.R. agent for the planet" Al Gore says those who still doubt that global warming is caused by man - among them, Vice President Dick Cheney - are acting like the fringe groups who think the 1969 moon landing never really happened, or who once believed the world is flat.

The former vice president and former presidential candidate talks to 60 Minutes correspondent Lesley Stahl in an interview to be broadcast this Sunday, March 30, at 7 p.m. ET/PT.

Confronted by Stahl with the fact some prominent people, including the nation’s vice president, are not convinced that global warming is manmade, Gore responds: "You're talking about Dick Cheney. I think that those people are in such a tiny, tiny minority now with their point of view, they’re almost like the ones who still believe that the moon landing was staged in a movie lot in Arizona and those who believe the world is flat,” says Gore. "That demeans them a little bit, but it's not that far off," he tells Stahl.

What a pious, smug, condescending prick.

The reason people don't believe you is that you have no proven scientific evidence to back up your wild claims. This guy lives in a fantasy world of his own and has become very wealthy peddling misinformation.

60 Minutes Shocker: Rove Sought Dirt on Criminal Democrat

Stop the presses! The sleuths at 60 Minutes have uncovered what they claim is a most nefarious plot by the evil Karl Rove to--get this--actually get some dirt on a now-imprisoned Democrat.

Clearly, this earth-shaking revelation will rock the foundations of political circles everywhere.

I mean, can you believe how low Rove would go? Imagine political operatives actually snooping into the background of political opponents.

We must have change. Such dirty, underhanded tactics cannot be condoned in America.

Whatever the case, Rove denies it anyway.

Oh, and a memo to Scott Pelley. This is old news.

A Republican operative in Alabama says Karl Rove asked her to try to prove the state’s Democratic governor was unfaithful to his wife in an effort to thwart the highly successful politician’s re-election.

Rove’s attempt to smear Don Siegelman was part of a Republican campaign to ruin him that finally succeeded in imprisoning him, says the operative, Jill Simpson.

Simpson speaks to Scott Pelley in her first television interview, to be broadcast on 60 Minutes Sunday, Feb. 24, at 7 p.m. ET/PT.

Simpson spoke to Pelley because, she says, Siegelman’s seven-year sentence for bribery bothers her. She recalls what Rove, then President Bush’s senior political adviser, asked her to do at a 2001 meeting in this exchange from Sunday’s report.

"Karl Rove asked you to take pictures of Siegelman?" asks Pelley.

"Yes," replies Simpson.

"In a compromising, sexual position with one of his aides," clarifies Pelley.

"Yes, if I could," says Simpson.

Simpson says she found no evidence of infidelity despite months of observation. She tells Pelley that Rove, who had been a top Republican strategist in Alabama, had made requests for information from her before in her capacity as an "opposition researcher" for Republicans running for office.

Rove would not speak to 60 Minutes, but elsewhere has denied being involved in efforts to discredit Siegelman.

Naturally, the fever swamps are in full freakout mode, Rove Derangement Syndrome in full bloom.

Rove is certainly an unamerikkkan TRAITOR and a scumbag, just like MURDERER Bush the COXUCKER punk TRAITOR to the USA.

Are these the same criminal bastards who have been tapping America’s phones, reading their e-mails and opening the mails. We are supposed to believe fascist political criminals like rove, alberto gonzales and prick cheney would never listen in on members of the Democratic Party to gather some political damaging dirt ? Any doubt as to why or the reason the Democratic Party is always behind the eight-ball ? This type of illegal conduct to use the DoJ attorneys general to maliciously prosecute political opponents was the key to the rovian scheme of 100 year Republican Party majority rule.

Sarkozy Walks Out on 60 Minutes

I knew there was something I liked about this guy.

French President Nicolas Sarkozy showed flashes of temper and abruptly terminated a television interview aimed at introducing him to US audiences.

In the 60 Minutes interview, broadcast in the US on Sunday, the French president sparred with the reporter, called his press secretary an imbecile, said he was too busy to make time for a "stupid" interview and ended the whole conversation abruptly when asked about the state of his marriage to Cecilia.

The Sarkozys' divorce was announced about two weeks later.

"If I had something to say about Cecilia, I would not do so here," he said before cutting off further questions.
