Is it any wonder Team Obama and his union goons have orchestrated this juvenile anti-Wall Street protest? It's been a diversion from the possible criminal activity of his Attorney General, not to mention the Solyndra scandal. But can the media continue to ignore the story now that Eric Holder is about to be hit with a subpoena?

CBS News has learned a Congressional subpoena directed to Attorney General Eric Holder could go out as early as Tuesday, ordering him to appear before lawmakers and testify about when he was aware of a controversial gun smuggling operation known as Fast and Furious.

CBS News investigative correspondent Sharyl Attkisson reports the the subpoena will come from the House Oversight Committee, led by Republican Darrell Issa. It will ask for communications among senior Justice Department officials related to Fast and Furious and "gunwalking."

Fast and Furious Scandal: 'We're Gonna Hit the Reset Button'

Here we go, reshuffling the deck chairs on the sinking ship.

There's a major reshuffling at the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms amid the Fast and Furious "gunwalking" scandal. In making the announcement this afternoon, Acting Director Todd Jones told reporters "we're gonna hit the reset button."

Among the changes, the current acting director of the beleaguered ATF Phoenix office where Fast and Furious was based, Tom Brandon, is being moved to Washington DC headquarters as Deputy Director. Brandon temporarily took over in Phoenix after the transfer of Special Agent in Charge Bill Newell, who led Fast and Furious.

Two key figures at ATF headquarters who were involved in Fast and Furious, and have testified before Congress, are being demoted. They include ATF Deputy Director Billy Hoover, who will become the Special Agent in Charge of the Washington field division; and Mark Chait, Assistant Director in Charge of Field Operations, who will become Special Agent in Charge of the Baltimore field division.

Uh, when is Eric Holder's "demotion" coming?

There's speculation Sharyl Attkisson is being silenced by CBS. Sure doesn't appear to be the case.

But he phrased it, he said very explicitly, 'I probably heard about Fast and Furious for the first time over the last few weeks.'

Attkisson: Yes. Well the DOJ woman was just yelling at me. The guy from the White House on Friday night literally screamed at me and cussed at me. [Laura: Who was the person? Who was the person at Justice screaming?] Eric Schultz. Oh, the person screaming was [DOJ spokeswoman] Tracy Schmaler, she was yelling not screaming. And the person who screamed at me was Eric Schultz at the White House."

Attkisson: We know more than 2,000 in Fast and Furious and I will soon be reporting on the fact that that is not the only case. 2,000 for that operation according to the agents involved.

8:28 - ...Is it sort of a drip, drip. And I'm certainly not the one to make the case for DOJ and White House about what I'm doing wrong. They will tell you that I'm the only reporter--as they told me--that is not reasonable. They say the Washington Post is reasonable, the LA Times is reasonable, the New York Times is reasonable, I'm the only one who thinks this is a story, and they think I'm unfair and biased by pursuing it.

Attkisson is one of the few reporters pursuing this scandal threatening to consume Obama. No wonder they're freaking out.

Issa: Holder is Dangerously Inept

Just imagine if these gunrunning scandals were happening under a Republican administration. The wall-to-wall coverage would knock even the latest Obama "pass this bill" speech off the air.

Wonderful: Guns From ATF Sting Linked to 11 More Violent Crimes

Perhaps if anyone can penetrate another staged Obama townhall they can pose a question to him about this ever-growing scandal

Firearms from the ATF's Operation Fast and Furious weapons trafficking investigation turned up at the scenes of at least 11 violent crimes in the U.S., as well as at a Border Patrol agent's slaying in southern Arizona last year, the Justice Department has acknowledged to Congress.

The department did not provide details about the crimes. But The Times has learned that they occurred in several Arizona cities, including Phoenix, where Fast and Furious was managed, as well as in El Paso, where a total of 42 weapons from the operation were seized at two crime scenes.

The new numbers, which expand the scope of the danger the program posed to U.S. citizens over a 14-month period, are contained in a letter that Justice Department officials turned over to the Senate Judiciary Committee last month.

In the letter, obtained by The Times on Tuesday, Justice Department officials also reported that Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives officials advised them that the agency's acting director, Kenneth E. Melson, "likely became aware" of the operation as early as December 2009, a month after it began.

Melson has said he did not learn about how the operation was run until January of this year, when it was canceled.

The July 22 letter, signed by Assistant Atty. Gen. Ronald Weich, was sent to Sens. Patrick J. Leahy (D-Vt.) and Charles E. Grassley (R-Iowa), the top members of the Senate Judiciary Committee. It was in response to questions posed to the Justice Department about Atty. Gen. Eric H. Holder Jr. and the weapons operation.

The program was intended to identify Mexican drug cartel leaders and smuggling routes across the border by allowing illegal purchases of firearms and tracking the weapons. Instead, many of the guns vanished.

Weich said that although the "ATF does not have complete information" on all of the lost guns, "it is our understanding that ATF is aware of 11 instances" beyond the Border Patrol agent's killing where a Fast and Furious firearm "was recovered in connection with a crime of violence in the United States."

Justice Department officials did not provide any more details about the crimes or how many guns were found.

Of course. They hate providing details.

If this crap happened during a Republican administration there'd be daily televised hearings and calls for impeachment. Why the almost complete media silence? Are the esteemed "journalists" at MSNBC too busy editing tapes to make people appear racist? Have they ever even mentioned this?

Eric Holder's Priorities: Same Sex Couples More Important Than Navy SEALS

Since most of the media is ignoring the fact Attorney General Eric Holder is investigating some Navy SEALS for slapping around a terrorist, it's worth noting he's got some odd priorities. First, here's some background on his investigation into the Navy SEALS.

While the Obama administration deservedly revels in the success of the US operation to kill Osama bin Laden this week, one question remains: Why is the Justice Department threatening criminal prosecution of the men who made the mission possible?

CIA Director Leon Panetta has acknowledged that the initial information that led to the discovery of bin Laden's hideout in Abbottabad came, in part, from information obtained by "enhanced interrogation techniques against some of those detainees." Yet Attorney General Holder persists in what appears to be a vendetta against these very CIA interrogators.

In August 2009, Holder ordered a continued investigation into "enhanced interrogation" techniques used by the CIA, even though an earlier investigation by career prosecutors concluded that no crimes were committed. The irony in all of this is made worse by President Obama's acknowledgment of intelligence agencies' role when he announced that bin Laden had been killed.

Compounding the idiocy, Obama the other day turned his back on Debra Burlingame when pressed on this outrage.

So with that in mind, here's the focus of Eric Holder this week.

A dancer from Venezuela who married an American man in a same-sex ceremony had his deportation placed on hold yesterday, one day after Attorney General Eric Holder set aside an immigration ruling in a similar case.

Henry Velandia, 27, a professional salsa dancer from Caracas, wants to be allowed to remain in the United States as the spouse of US citizen Josh Vandiver, 29. The couple live in New Jersey but were married last year in Connecticut, where same-sex marriage is legal.

Yesterday, an immigration judge in Newark adjourned Velandia’s case until December, citing Holder’s decision a day earlier. In that case, Holder set aside a Board of Immigration Appeals ruling allowing the deportation to Ireland of Paul Wilson Dorman, a gay man illegally in the United States is in a civil union with his partner.

The board based its decision in the Dorman case on the Defense of Marriage Act, which defines marriage as the union of a man and a woman. Holder asked the board to determine if Dorman would be considered a spouse under immigration law were it not for the act.

In Eric Holder's world, gay illegal aliens have more rights that our military heroes.

After prancing around New York and preening for the cameras today, Barack Obama showed his utter contempt for Debra Burlingame, the sister of the murdered American Airlines pilot Chip Burlingame. There's been very little attention paid to the fact that Obama stooge Eric Holder has been investigating Navy SEALS for giving a fat lip to a terrorist. Debra Burlingame today pressed Obama to have Holder drop this outrageous persecution.

The sister of a Sept. 11 victim said President Obama on Thursday turned down her request to advise Attorney General Eric Holder to drop his probe of CIA agents whose interrogation methods may have provided information leading to the raid on Al Qaeda leader Usama bin Laden.

Debra Burlingame, whose brother was the pilot of American Airlines Flight 77, which was hijacked and forced into the Pentagon on Sept. 11, 2001, told Fox News on Thursday that she made the request during Obama's meeting with families of victims of the Al Qaeda attack.

When the president approached her table, Burlingame said she told him that as a former attorney she knows he can't tell the attorney general what to do – an assessment the president agreed with, she said.

"And I said, but that shouldn't stop you from offering your opinion. After all, we wouldn't be here celebrating today if they hadn't done their job," she said. "And they have the hammer of a possible indictment over their heads. Can't you at least give him your opinion?"

The president replied that he wouldn't, she said. She added, "And he turned around and walked away."

Holder launched the investigation in late 2009, appointing a special prosecutor to review cases of possible detainee abuse at the hands of CIA agents. Around the same time, the administration shifted responsibility for interrogations of top terror suspects away from the CIA. At the beginning of his presidency, Obama had ordered that interrogations stick to the guidelines in the Army Field Manual.

The contempt Holder and Obama have for the American people knows no limits. Holder went out of his way to avoid prosecuting New Black Panther thugs for voter intimidation, yet he's going after Navy SEALS, the same guys who are heros for waxing Osama bin Laden.

It's is just beneath contempt.

Peter King: Holder Blocked Indictment of CAIR Thugs

To be fair, the Bush Justice Department didn't exactly pursue the unindicted terror co-conspirators with any alacrity either. Still, don't for a minute expect that the incompetent Eric Holder will do anything.

The next time the IRS audits you, you can invoke the Eric Holder defense: Simply say you "weren't aware" you failed to pay your taxes. See how far that gets you.

US Attorney General Eric Holder and his brother failed to pay the property taxes on their childhood home in Queens, which they inherited last August after their mother died, The Post has learned.

And because their ailing mom, Miriam, was already behind on two quarterly tax bills when she succumbed to illness on Aug. 13, the charges went unpaid for more than a year -- growing to $4,146.

It wasn't until The Post confronted Holder last week about the delinquency that he and younger brother William Holder finally paid up Friday, including $73.14 in interest.

The siblings "weren't aware of the initial missed payments, which happened in the last months of their mother's life when she was battling illness," said a Holder spokesman.

The subsequent unpaid bills "occurred during a time period in which the disposition of the estate is still being resolved," said Department of Justice spokesman Matthew Miller.

Ignorance of the law is no excuse. But when you're Eric Holder, you're clearly above the law. I wonder how long he would have avoided paying taxes if the Post hadn't pointed it out to him?

Speaking of tax deadbeat pals of Obama's, his good buddy Al Sharpton still owes millions, with no sign he's ever going to pay up.

The Rev. Al Sharpton's nonprofit has vowed to clean up its tax debt, but it's unclear whether the charity's funds will be used to pay the activist's private liabilities.

The National Action Network's board of directors recently voted to approve funds "to resolve tax liens and outstanding tax issues," according to a NAN statement.

The organization had owed more than $1.1 million in payroll taxes at the end of 2009, according to the group's audited financial statements. But it's not clear how much of that debt has been paid.

Sharpton, NAN's president, owes $2.6 million in federal liens and $1.3 million in state personal and corporate liens for Rev Al Communications.

But Obama insists "the rich" need to pay more. Except where his friends are concerned.

Although Obama is an Ivy-educated citizen of the world, and president of the most powerful nation on earth, one has to wonder: Is Warren Buffett the only successful American the President knows?

"I don't need another tax cut, Warren Buffett doesn't need another tax cut," the President proudly professed to the American people.

But let's examine why that statement is so unnerving to investors hoping to see their lawmakers engage in an honest budget debate. For starters, Warren Buffett undoubtedly files one of the most unique tax returns in America, replete with tens of millions in capital gains and virtually no earned income. Judging from his tax returns in recent years, Buffett "earns" about $500,000 in salary and fees as a corporate director, but cashes out tens of millions more in capital gains and dividends stemming from his $45 billion dollar stake in Berkshire Hathaway.

As such, he pays about 17 percent of his "income" in taxes. To be sure, this rate is low, especially compared with the millions of Americans who are paying twice as much (35 percent) with virtually no deductions.

The bulk of these so-called "rich" Americans earn less than $500,000 a year before taxes, and hardly qualify as "rich" in Buffett terms, merely quite comfortable. These Americans proudly paid their taxes this week, a task that, in states like New York, means nearly 50 percent of their earned income goes to the government.

So it only adds insult to injury that President Obama, rather than praising these hard-working tax-payers, demonizes them by lumping them in with the Buffett types -- billionaires who clip (bond) coupons and rake in the capital gains at a much lower 15 percent rate.

Of course these folks could always voluntarily pay more, yet never seem to.

Eric Schoenberg says to sign him up for paying higher taxes. Schoenberg, who inherited money and has a healthy portfolio from his days as an investment banker, has joined a group of other wealthy Americans called United for a Fair Economy. Their goal: Raise taxes on rich people like themselves.

Shoenberg, who now teaches a business class at Columbia University, said his income is usually "north of half a million a year." But 2009 was a bad year for investments, so his income dropped to a little over $200,000. His federal income tax bill was a little more than $2,000.

"I simply point out to people, `Do you think this is reasonable, that somebody in my circumstances should only be paying 1 percent of their income in tax?'" Schoenberg said.

Sen. Orrin Hatch of Utah, the top Republican on the Senate Finance Committee, said he has a solution for rich people who want to pay more in taxes: Write a check to the IRS. There's nothing stopping you.

"There's still time before the filing deadline for them to give Uncle Sam some more money," Hatch said.

Don't expect them to. These hypocrites are busy finding more tax shelters. Besides, they need to save some dough so they can "invest" in Obama's re-election.

Peter King Unloads: 'Maybe Eric Holder Wants to Live in a Dictatorship, We Don’t'

I get the feeling racial coward Eric Holder won't be going out of his way to find out who set a pig's foot and an anti-Semitic diatribe to Congressman Peter King. Especially after he gets wind of this.

The chairman of the House Homeland Security Committee suggested that Attorney General Eric Holder should resign after criticizing Congress for interfering with the trial venues for the detainees at Guantánamo.

Rep. Pete King (R-N.Y.) said Tuesday that Holder should resign if he's so against trying the suspects before a military commission.

“Maybe Eric Holder wants to live in a dictatorship, we don’t," King said in an interview with Fox News. "If he feels so strongly about it [...] and this is such an issue of conscious for him, then Eric Holder should resign. If he feels this strongly he should resign on principle. It would do him good, it would certainly do us good. It would do the country good."

Please, Rep. King, stop sugarcoating things.

Shocker: DOJ Whitewashes New Black Panther Case

What, you expected anything less from racial coward Eric Holder?

The Justice Department’s internal ethics watchdog on Tuesday told Congress that it had cleared all department lawyers of wrongdoing in relation to a much-disputed voter-intimidation case involving the New Black Panther Party, a black-nationalist fringe group.

In a letter to the House Judiciary Committee, the department’s Office of Professional Responsibility said it had found no evidence that officials involved in decisions about the case acted inappropriately out of political or racial motivations.

The office said its conclusion applied both to officials who brought a sweeping civil lawsuit against the party in the closing days of the Bush administration, and those who decided to reduce the scope of the case early in the Obama administration.

“We determined that the attorneys involved in the NBPP case made good faith, reasonable assessments of the facts and the law,” wrote Robin Ashton, a counsel in the office.

Neither the chairman nor the ranking member of the House Judiciary Committee — Representatives Lamar Smith, Republican of Texas, and John Conyers, Democrat of Michigan – had any immediate comment on the letter.

The New Black Panther case stemmed from an incident when two party members, dressed in black clothing, were filmed standing outside a polling station in a majority-black precinct in Philadelphia on Election Day in November 2008. One was holding a night stick, and was eventually directed to leave by the police.

This videotaped case of obvious intimidation was labeled a made-up controversy by Holder. If you are a white American, you don't have the same rights as the New Black Panthers, according to Eric Holder. If you're a Republican, you have even fewer rights.

Holder: New Black Panther Case a 'Made-up Controversy'

Really, Mr. Attorney General, it was all made up?

Asked about the prospect of oversight hearings and subpoenas involving the New Black Panther case, Mr. Holder said, “there is no ‘there’ there.”

“The notion that this made-up controversy leads to a belief that this Justice Department is not color-blind in enforcement of civil rights laws is simply not supported by the facts,” he said. “All I have on my side with regard to that is the facts and the law.”

Uh, how about some of these facts?

Leaders of the New Black Panther Party express joy in a newly available video that Attorney General Eric Holder tolerated their voter-intimidation activities and dropped a case against them.

In the video below, Malik Shabazz, president of the New Black Panther Party, explains at a NBPP meeting why New Black Panthers were sent to polling places with batons. His comments include some jokes, as when he cracked to members “You know we don’t carry batons…. PSYCHE! I’m just playin’.” Shabazz goes on to explain that his brother got a pass from the Obama Justice Department because “Justice Department leadership changed into the hands of a black man by the name of Eric Holder.” Good to know.

You see, nothing happened. Except what happened. But according to our Attorney General, what happened was just a fabrication, all video evidence notwithstanding.

Ever hear of J. Christian Adams, Mr. Holder? Surely you must have. He's a man who once worked for the Justice Department and resigned over this "made-up" non-story.

On the day President Obama was elected, armed men wearing the black berets and jackboots of the New Black Panther Party were stationed at the entrance to a polling place in Philadelphia. They brandished a weapon and intimidated voters and poll watchers. After the election, the Justice Department brought a voter-intimidation case against the New Black Panther Party and those armed thugs. I and other Justice attorneys diligently pursued the case and obtained an entry of default after the defendants ignored the charges. Before a final judgment could be entered in May 2009, our superiors ordered us to dismiss the case.

The New Black Panther case was the simplest and most obvious violation of federal law I saw in my Justice Department career. Because of the corrupt nature of the dismissal, statements falsely characterizing the case and, most of all, indefensible orders for the career attorneys not to comply with lawful subpoenas investigating the dismissal, this month I resigned my position as a Department of Justice (DOJ) attorney.

Why would this man resign his position if this never happened?

The irony is the story where the Holder quote comes from generally is sympathetic toward him and laments the frustration he'll be facing with those meanie Republicans in charge of the House. They have some questions for Holder regarding this "made-up controversy," questions I doubt he'll be answering truthfully.

Eric Holder Was Unavailable for Comment

Remember when Arizona Governor Jan Brewer was ridiculed for saying headless bodies were being found in the desert? Well, now they're turning up in the Phoenix area. It's curious how the Democrats aren't running against her this election cycle. They obviously realize what a losing issue they support. Speaking of losers, has anyone seen Eric Holder lately?

The gruesome case of a man who was stabbed and beheaded in a suburban Phoenix apartment has police investigating whether the killing is potentially the most extreme example of Mexican drug cartel violence spilling over the border.

Martin Alejandro Cota-Monroy's body was found Oct. 10 in a Chandler apartment -- his severed head a couple feet away. One man suspected in the killing has been arrested, and a manhunt is under way for three others.

Detectives are focused on whether the men belong to a Mexican drug cartel, and they suspect that Cota-Monroy's killing was punishment for stealing drugs. The brutal nature of the killing could be designed to send a message to others within the cartel.

"If it does turn out to be a drug cartel out of Mexico, typically that's a message being sent," said Chandler police Detective David Ramer. "This person was chosen to be executed. It sends a message to other people: If you cross us, this is what happens."

Decapitations are a regular part of the drug war in Mexico as cartels fight over territory. Headless bodies have been hanged from bridges by their feet, severed heads have been sent to victims' family members and government officials, and bags of up to 12 heads have been dropped off in high-profile locations.

More than 28,000 people have been killed in Mexico in drug-related violence since December 2006, when President Felipe Calderon deployed soldiers to battle the cartels in their strongholds.

If the suspects in the Arizona case belong to a cartel, the crime could be the only known beheading in the U.S. carried out by a drug cartel, said Tony Payan, a political science professor at the University of Texas at El Paso who has done extensive research about border violence.

The killing could also affect the immigration debate in Arizona. Supporters of the state's controversial immigration law frequently cite this type of violence as reason to crack down on illegal immigrants. The decapitation victim and the suspects were all illegal immigrants.

Republican Gov. Jan Brewer drew criticism this year for claiming that headless bodies were being found in the Arizona desert as she sought to bolster her argument for immigration reform. She later backtracked on those claims, but said such violence in the broader border region is cause enough for alarm.

The killing has unnerved residents in the neighborhood and apartment complex where Cota-Monroy was killed.

The tiny, run-down complex sits along a side street across from ramshackle trailer homes in a neighborhood not far from brand-new strip malls with big-box stores in the suburb of Chandler.

No one is living inside the apartment that is the scene of the crime. There's beat-up leather furniture, a bouquet of flowers and a candle on a dining-room table, and the kitchen cabinets are ajar, as if someone left in a hurry.

"I'm terrified," said Norma Alvarado, a 47-year-old housekeeper who lives two doors down from the apartment. "I've lived here for 20 years and I've never heard of that (decapitation) happening, and it was so close to us ... Maybe they're copying what's happening in Mexico."

A shame our Justice Department has turned into an arm of the Democratic Party.

WaPo Ombudsman Wonders Why His Paper is Silent on Black Panther Story

Short answer: They don't want to make Obama and Holder look like they're playing racial politics, which they are.

Long answer: He's baffled.

Thursday's Post reported about a growing controversy over the Justice Department's decision to scale down a voter-intimidation case against members of the New Black Panther Party. The story succinctly summarized the issues but left many readers with a question: What took you so long?

For months, readers have contacted the ombudsman wondering why The Post hasn't been covering the case. The calls increased recently after competitors such as the New York Times and the Associated Press wrote stories. Fox News and right-wing bloggers have been pumping the story. Liberal bloggers have countered, accusing them of trying to manufacture a scandal.

But The Post has been virtually silent.

The story has its origins on Election Day in 2008, when two members of the New Black Panther Party stood in front of a Philadelphia polling place. YouTube video of the men, now viewed nearly 1.5 million times, shows both wearing paramilitary clothing. One carried a nightstick.

Early last year, just before the Bush administration left office, the Justice Department filed a voter-intimidation lawsuit against the men, the New Black Panther Party and its chairman. But several months later, with the government poised to win by default because the defendants didn't contest the suit, the Obama Justice Department decided the case was over-charged and narrowed it to the man with the nightstick. It secured only a narrow injunction forbidding him from displaying a weapon within 100 feet of Philadelphia polling places through 2012.

Congressional Republicans pounced. For months they stalled the confirmation of Thomas E. Perez, President Obama's pick to head the Justice Department's Civil Rights Division, while seeking answers to why the case had been downgraded over the objections of some of the department's career lawyers. The Justice Department's Office of Professional Responsibility launched an investigation, which is pending. The independent, eight-member Commission on Civil Rights also began what has become a yearlong probe with multiple public hearings; its report is due soon. Rep. Frank R. Wolf (R-Va.), a prominent lawmaker in The Post's circulation area, has been a loud and leading critic of how the case was handled. His office has "aggressively" sought to interest The Post in coverage, a spokesman said.

The controversy was elevated last month when J. Christian Adams, a former Justice Department lawyer who had helped develop the case, wrote in the Washington Times that his superiors' decision to reduce its scope was "motivated by a lawless hostility toward equal enforcement of the law." Some in the department believe "the law should not be used against black wrongdoers because of the long history of slavery and segregation," he wrote. Adams recently repeated these charges in public testimony before the commission.

The Post didn't cover it. Indeed, until Thursday's story, The Post had written no news stories about the controversy this year. In 2009, there were passing references to it in only three stories.

Of course when those on the left manufacture stories accusing tea partiers of being racist it makes news. I wonder if they'll notice the White House is behind that smear?

Hey, let's cut the WaPo some slack. They're more interested in exposing secret sites than they are in reporting on malfeasance by our post-racial administration.

'I Think the Obama Administration Has Made a Strategic Blunder'

Seems more a calculated blunder one could argue.

The Justice Department's lawsuit against Arizona's controversial immigration law won't stop Prince William Board of County Supervisors Chairman Corey A. Stewart's campaign to bring a similar law to Virginia.

If anything, said Stewart (R-At Large), he will push harder to get legislation passed at the state level that would enhance police officials' power to capture, detain and deport illegal immigrants and create specific Virginia penalties for illegal immigrants.

"I think the Obama administration has made a strategic blunder," Stewart said. "The Justice Department is going to have egg on its face when its case is dismissed. Arizona is on very firm legal footing, and the administration is just trying to intimidate Arizona."

Last month, Stewart launched the Virginia Rule of Law Campaign to rally support for Virginia immigration legislation. Stewart said Virginia needs to follow in Arizona's footsteps, even if it sends President Obama's administration after the commonwealth.

"I hope the Justice Department sues Virginia, as well," he said. "I hope they have so many targets that they are unable to focus on Arizona. . . . Every state that supports Arizona should implement a similar law to make it impossible for the [federal government] to focus on any one state or jurisdiction."

Undaunted, the Injustice Department may be ready to pile on.

Attorney General Eric Holder, just days after filing a federal lawsuitagainst Arizona's immigration law, on Sunday floated the possibility of filing another suit on racial profiling grounds.

Maybe the idiots will realize this is one of many reasons Democrats are doomed this fall.

After slapping down Barack Obama last week in devastating fashion, Arizona Governor Jan Brewer now takes a couple of Obama's dimmest bulbs behind the woodshed for a well-earned beatdown.

Why on earth Napolitano and Holder are employed after these recent humiliations is anyone's guess. I figure affirmative action means the hopelessly incompetent are protected in their jobs even when they're exposed as frauds.

“We know that they helped facilitate it. We know that they probably helped finance it. And that he was working at their direction.”

'This Is Going to Get Nasty'

Could there be anything worse for Obama and his thin-skinned crew than to be compared unfavorably to his predecessor? Well, it appears the slobbering love affair between him and his lapdog media may be coming to a screeching halt. Of course most reporters will still shamelessly suck up as long as they're not the targets.

The Justice Department's decision to subpoena a New York Times reporter this week has convinced some press advocates that President Obama's team is pursuing leaks with the same fervor as the Bush administration.

James Risen, who shared a Pulitzer Prize for disclosing President George W. Bush's domestic surveillance program, has refused to testify about the confidential sources he used for his 2006 book "State of War: The Secret History of the C.I.A. and the Bush Administration."

"The message they are sending to everyone is, 'You leak to the media, we will get you,' " said Lucy Dalglish, executive director of the Reporters Committee for Freedom of the Press. In the wake of the Bush administration's aggressive stance toward the press, she said, "as far as I can tell there is absolutely no difference, and the Obama administration seems to be paying more attention to it. This is going to get nasty."

Kurt Wimmer, a Washington lawyer who helped win White House approval for a proposed federal shield law, called the move against Risen "disappointing" after "we had positive discussions with the Obama administration" on the need to give journalists a legal foundation for protecting their sources in most cases.

In the Risen case, Attorney General Eric Holder had to approve the subpoena under Justice Department procedures. The subpoena, disclosed Thursday by the Times, comes two weeks after the administration obtained an indictment of a former top National Security Agency official, Thomas Drake, for allegedly providing classified information to a Baltimore Sun reporter.

For the most part the White House press corps is shying away from criticizing their hero, since they crave a daily pat on the head and being given inside access, so in the end they could care less if one of their own is thrown under the bus.

If this were the Bush Justice Department, though, there's be 24/7 howls of outrageously outrageous outrage.

'It's Like They're Bringing al Qaeda Lawyers Inside the Department of Justice'

The most honest, ethical, transparent administration ever, blah blah blah.

The Justice Department's disclosure that nine of President Obama's appointees had either represented or advocated for Guantanamo detainees has touched off a firestorm of criticism.

The surprising admission came three months after Republican Sen. Charles Grassley of Iowa asked Attorney General Eric Holder for a list of names of Obama DOJ appointees who had been involved in legal work for Gitmo prisoners.

Holder, in a letter to Grassley, admitted that nine of the agency's appointees had done some kind of work on behalf of terror suspects.

"To the best of our knowledge, during their employment prior to joining the government, only five of the lawyers who serve as political appointees in those components represented detainees," said Holder in the letter, which is dated Feb. 18.

Only five? Why, I feel better now know only five of Obama's appointees represented these monsters. Now if it were, say, six or seven, then I might have a problem with this insanity.

"Four others either contributed to amicus briefs in detainee-related cases or were otherwise involved in advocacy on behalf of detainees."

Holder refused to reveal the names of any of the DOJ lawyers who worked on behalf of terrorists or their positions in the department, except for two officials whose advocacy for Gitmo detainees had already been reported.

Neal Katyal, the department's principal deputy solicitor general, was once the lawyer for Osama bin Laden's driver. Jennifer Daskal, part of Obama's Detention Policy Task Force, advocated for detainees at Human Rights Watch.

Nice to see we have terrorist advocates in or Justice Department, huh?

But the revelation that the DOJ had staffers who had once backed America's enemies left many critics fuming.

"It's like they're bringing al Qaeda lawyers inside the Department of Justice," said Debra Burlingame, who lost her brother on 9/11 and a board member of the advocacy group Keep America Safe.

Long Island GOP Rep. Peter King said he was perplexed why Holder didn't reveal the names of appointees who had worked for terrorists.

A DOJ rep reiterated that no ethics codes were broken.

"The department's attorneys are subject to ethics and disclosure rules . . . which are the strongest in history," said spokesman Matthew Miller.

It's historic!

If the disclosure rules are so strong, how come we don't know their names? We pay their salaries so we deserve to know who these people are.

Unreal: U.S. to Appeal Dismissal of Charges Against Blackwater

Makes you wonder whose side they're on. Actually, no, I'm no longer wondering. They're definitely not on our side.

The U.S. will appeal a court decision dismissing manslaughter charges against five Blackwater Worldwide security contractors involved in a deadly 2007 Baghdad shooting, U.S. Vice President Joe Biden said Saturday.

Biden's announcement after a meeting with Iraqi President Jalal Talabani shows just how diplomatically sensitive the incident remains nearly three years later.

Blackwater security contractors were guarding U.S. diplomats when the guards opened fire in a crowded Baghdad intersection. Seventeen people were killed, including women and children, in a shooting that inflamed anti-American sentiment in Iraqi.

The U.S. rebuffed Iraqi demands that the U.S. contractors face trial in Iraqi courts. After a lengthy investigation, U.S. prosecutors charged five of the contractors with manslaughter and took a guilty plea from a sixth.

But the case fell apart in December after a judge found that the Justice Department mishandled evidence and violated the guards' constitutional rights. Prosecutors now face difficult odds getting an appeals court to reinstate the case.

The dismissal outraged many Iraqis, who said it showed the Americans considered themselves above the law. The Iraqi government began collecting signatures for a class-action lawsuit from victims who were wounded or lost relatives.

Messages seeking comment from lawyers for the guards were not immediately returned Saturday.

Blackwater has said the guards were innocent, contending there were ambushed by insurgents. Prosecutors said the shooting was unprovoked.

The government is eager to ruin the lives of these people doing a dirty job, yet when it comes to prosecuting domestic thugs, well, they're just not interested in that.

The Justice Department, citing privilege claims, has refused to release e-mails and other documents sought under an open records request by The Washington Times to explain its decision last year to dismiss a civil complaint accusing the New Black Panther Party of intimidating voters at a Philadelphia polling place.

In a letter, the department said that while 69 documents totaling 135 pages were responsive to the Freedom of Information Act request for information on how and why the decision to dismiss the complaint was made, they were being withheld because of "deliberative process" and "attorney work-product" privilege exemptions.

Obama has his priorities straight, that's for sure: Black Panthers good, Blackwater bad.

It's as if they're unaware of a certain election this past week that sent a very loud message people don't like how this administration is operating.
