Show of hands. Who didn't see this coming?

Once again news is coming out of Israel that the negotiations related to the release of kidnapped soldier Gilad Shalit has hit another snag. Of course the article blames Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu.

The problem this time? The terrorist organization Hamas wants 1,000 criminals delivered to the West Bank. Netanyahu prefers that they be delivered to Gaza or deported aboard. I can remember when these negotiations begin the number started at 400 I think. The Palestinians have always increased their demands and managed to always shift the blame to the Israelis.

Netanyahu had earlier agreed to allow some Hamas prisoners, who have shed Israeli blood, to be released to their homes in the West Bank . Now, according to the source, Netanyahu is demanding they be released either to Gaza or be deported abroad.

I don't see how releasing them into Gaza would be that big a deal. They can walk to the West Bank from there. As far as being deported, the Palestinians have enough money from all of the western countries to buy them air fare back home. On the other hand I can't think of any sane, rational country wanting to allow confirmed Muslim terrorists into their borders willingly.

The Palestinians are not serious about releasing Gilad. They never have been. I do however think that they are also setting the exchange rate for a human life. If 1 Israeli is equal to 1,000 Palestinians, I think it would be in Israel's best interest to impose this same exchange rate the next time a Palestinian suicide bomber explodes somewhere in Israel.

The Palestinians have set the conditions.

Three years after being kidnapped by Hamas terrorists, numerous previous prisoner releases all meant to appease the bloodthirsty Hamas thugs and we have yet another display of their depravity.

Hamas says they will release a video tape of Gilad Shalit in exchange for 20 incubators of jihadism. What a deal!!! They get to continue to torment the Shalit family in yet another trade for nothing.

You want your brood mares, come get them. If I was Israel I would give nothing else up except for the return of Gilad, since you are saying he is alive. Hamas is playing the Israelis like a puppet, backed up by their enablers in the west.

After more than three years of waiting, the parents of the captive Israeli soldier Gilad Shalit have been told they will receive concrete proof that he is alive.
This Friday a videotape of Gilad Shalit will be released in exchange for 20 Palestinian women who are currently in Israeli jails, according to a deal announced by Israel and Hamas militants.

And after this gesture Hamas will simply make yet another demand, and another, until one day this young man no longer serves there purposes and then what?

This is why that nitwit, goober growing, toothy grinning, has-been of a former President should never have been allowed to meet with Hamas. He has now wrecked any sort of negotiations or dealings that may have been underway behind the scenes by Israel or the State Department in an effort to bring about some sort agreement between the two sides.

Hamas wants only one thing, the annihilation of everyone and everything that dares call itself Israeli.

So Carter walks around bragging about some sort of 3 point peace deal he has reached with Hamas.

In addition to a ceasefire, the proposal would entail serious negotiations about the release of kidnapped Israeli soldier Gilad Shalit, who has been in Hamas custody since June 2006, and the lifting of an international embargo in Gaza that has been in place since Hamas won elections in February 2006.

Do you see anything in there asking Hamas to make any sort of concession? A ceasefire? Here is Hamas' idea of a ceasefire.

Hamas bombers attacked an Israeli-Gaza border crossing under the cover of fog Saturday, detonating two jeeps made to look like Israeli military vehicles and packed with hundreds of pounds of explosives.

The twin blasts, just hours before the Jewish Passover holiday, wounded 13 Israeli soldiers in what Hamas said was an attempt to break the nearly yearlong blockade of the territory. Four Hamas assailants died, Israeli officials said.

Carter has made the situation far worse now. Hamas will continue to hurl rockets into Israel, continue to try and kill Israelis, and all the while spinning furiously that it is all Israel's fault, while dangling the specter of the kidnapped Israeli soldier Gilat Shalid in front of the world to to force the world and Israel to temper any response. Hamas now has the exact tool they wanted to bullshit the rest of the world that they somehow want peace. They do not want peace.
As for the timing of the attack, it too was premeditated. Hamas knows any sort of Israeli response while a former president of the United States is in their grasp will be minimal.

Jimmy, you need to find one of those houses you have built and move it and fade onto the trash heap of history where you and your legacy belongs.

Shalit in Hamas Control?

Army of Islam says Shalit moved to Hamas control

Army of Islam, one of the militant groups implicated in the abduction last year of Israel Defense Forces Corporal Gilad Shalit, told Channel 10 that it has transferred Shalit to the full control of Hamas.

Until his release Wednesday morning, Army of Islam had also been holding British Broadcasting Corporation reporter Alan Johnston, who had been captive in the Gaza Strip for four months.

In an interview aired Wednesday night, Army of Islam deputy commander Abu Mutha'ana said, "We at Army of Islam made the preparations for operation 'Dissipating Illusion,' which was carried out in cooperation with the Al Aqsa Martyrs' Brigade and the Popular Resistance Committees Salah a-Din. We kidnapped Gilad Shalit and handed him over to Hamas."

Abu Mutha'ana, fully masked and surrounded by weapons in the Channel 10 interview, did not fully explain why the movement handed Shalit over to Hamas. He said simply that Shalit was transferred "because Army of Islam was busy with other things."

None of them good, I'm sure.

After Johnston was released earlier Wednesday, Israel called on Hamas to free Shalit, saying that the militant group is responsible for the delay in the release of Palestinian prisoners as part of a swap for the soldier.

Miri Eisin, a spokeswoman for Prime Minister Ehud Olmert, called on Hamas to free Shalit immediately. "The Hamas that brought about Alan Johnston's release is the same Hamas that abducted Gilad Shalit," she said.
