Incest Freaks: Hey, It's Society That Has a Problem

You would think these nutjobs would have the common decency to shut up and lay low.

A FATHER and daughter who had a child together say it is society that has a problem with their incestuous relationship and they are OK with it.

John and Jenny Deaves from South Australia caused controversy after admitting on national television that they had a nine-month-old daughter together.

"It's everybody else out there in society that has the problem, we don't have the problem," Ms Deaves said on 60 minutes last night.

"If you've got something to say, say it for Christ's sake. Don't go attacking the kids or the car or anything else, it's not the Australian way," Mr Deaves said.

"We're sure once people get to know us they'll realise that we're not going to pass on any disease to them, we're not going to bite their head off and we're not nasty terrible people," Ms Deaves said.

The couple spoke last night about the death of their first child, Jackson, in 2001.

Mr Deaves said the death of the four-day-old boy from a heart defect had nothing to do with the genetics of their relationship.

"There's dozens of babies born every year that have this complaint or similar complaints," he said.

Channel 9's flagship current affairs program has been under attack after the station's news and current affairs boss admitted viewers did not get the full story on last week's show.

News chief John Westacott said that "on balance" the program should have included the fact that the couple's previous son had died.

How sick are these people? They have one child that dies and they go and have another knowing there could be birth defects?

Sick stuff.

A SOUTH Australian woman has given birth to her father's son after the couple had sex.

John and Jenny Deaves reunited 30 years after Mr Deaves separated from Jenny's mother.

Jenny was 31 and, just two weeks after meeting, father and daughter had sex.

"John and I are in this relationship as consenting adults," Ms Deaves told the Nine Network last night. "We are just asking for a little bit of respect and understanding."

Good luck with that.

Their nine-month-old daughter, Celeste, shown on TV, appears fit and healthy.

Ms Deaves said soon after reuniting with her father she began to see him as a man first and her father second.

"I was looking at him, sort of going, oh, he's not too bad. Like you might look at a man across the bar at a nightclub."

Sure, he's a hottie. Except for the fact he's your father!

Ms Deaves brought two children, Samantha and Alex, into the relationship after splitting from her former partner.

Mr Deaves admitted that he "initially" thought having sex with his daughter was wrong. "Emotions take over. As people no doubt realise, there are times during your life where emotions do rule the heart; it rules the head," he said.

"I knew it was illegal - of course, I knew it was illegal - but you know, so what?"
