Weak: Weiner's Pal Jon Stewart Plays the 'Little Dick' Defense

The two of them are old buddies, so don't expect for a minute he's going to throw Weiner under the bus. Upside: Weiner's now fair game for comedians out there who have some credibility.

Meanwhile, former news network MSNBC completely demolishes their credibility by going all-out after Andrew Breitbart. How do they expect to be taken serious when they're living in fantasy land?

Libs Keep It Classy at DC Rally: 'I Masturbate to Christine O'Donnell'

Photo via Kathleen McKinley on Twitter

Then there's this charming call for the death of right-wingers.

But remember, this wasn't a political rally.
Most of those pouring into the Mall Saturday appeared to be younger than 35, and the signs they carried showed a decidedly left-wing bent: "I hope this isn't a trap," "I masturbate to Christine O'Donnell," "Communism was a red herring."

Most signs fit with the happy-go-lucky ethos of the rally, but others were crude. One sign had Hitler mustaches on pictures of Sarah Palin, Eric Cantor, Glenn Beck and John Boehner. The message said, “Afraid yet?” This is particularly insulting to Cantor, who is Jewish and in line to become House Majority Leader if Republicans win next week.
Even terror supporters were there.
When surprise guest Yusuf Islam, the British singer formerly known as Cat Stevens, arrived onstage and began singing his hit "Peace Train," Colbert loudly interrupted him and introduced Ozzy Osbourne, who sang his hit, "Crazy Train" before Stewart interrupted him in turn. The two singers then engaged in a musical duel, guided by the two comedians.
And what would a liberal rally be without their favorite activity?
The wind carried the scent of burning marijuana through the crowd.
And what would a liberal rally be without the ubiquitous 9/11 Troofers?

Second and third photos from here.

Update: Doug Ross has more photos you'll never see in the antique media.

Shocker: DNC and Obama Recruiting at 'Non-political' Hipster Douchebag Rally

Gee, never saw this coming, did you?
Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert may not want an overtly political rally on Saturday, but the Democratic National Committee is doing everything it can to capitalize on the event.

Volunteers and staff members from the headquarters are greeting people as they get off of the buses or arrive in Washington on trains, armed with sign-up sheets for canvassing efforts in districts across the country.

And for those rally attendees who have not gotten enough of politics by the end of the rally, they can head over to the the committee’s headquarters a few blocks away, where there will be a phone bank. Committee officials said they expected to get at least 100 people there.

The rally had been a subject of concern for some Democrats, who said it would siphon the most active Democrats from around the country away from the get-out-the-vote efforts in their home states and districts.

But a spokeswoman for the Democratic committee’s Organizing for America said Saturday that the party is supportive of the Comedy Central hosts’ event.
Obama's own website is promoting this "non-political" event. How cute.
Thousands of Americans descended on the nation's capital today for Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert's Rally for Sanity and/or Fear on the National Mall. They carried signs and sported T-shirts bearing proud messages like "Moderate as hell!" and "Don't believe rally signs." OFA volunteers took the opportunity to channel all that energy into action, and sign rally-goers up to help get out the vote in their communities.

"How can I help?" asked a woman from New Jersey, who was told that all she needed to do was text SANE to 62262 to find an event near her. OFA volunteers signed folks up for a phone bank at the nearby Democratic Party headquarters after the rally, and encouraged people to get on buses to go canvass in states like Ohio and Virginia.
If Colbert and Stewart were since about about their claims they'd denounce this, but they're complete frauds so they won't say a word.

Meanwhile, the Politico has a photo of a huge crowd. One problem. It's from Glenn Beck's rally (H/T Cubachi). You'd think the Gadsden flags and trees in full bloom might be a clue.

Surprise! Democrat To Campaign Before 'Non-Political' Stewart/Colbert Moronapalooza

Sure, it's all non-political. Just so happens it two of the biggest liberals on television, but let's pretend it's not a political rally. Of course it'll be a colossal failure, so they laugh will be on them.
On Saturday morning, Del. Eleanor Holmes Norton (D) of Washington, D.C., is planning to hand out signs that promote the city's voting rights in Congress to people attending the satirical rallies being held by comedians Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert.

Norton and the voting rights group, D.C. Vote, said they plan to be stationed on Pennsylvania Avenue handing out signs that read, “BE SANE. Let DC Vote” to people heading to the rallies, which are slated to begin at noon on the National Mall.

Colbert and Stewart announced their events — “The March to Keep Fear Alive” and the “Rally to Restore Sanity,” respectively — after Fox News pundit Glenn Beck and other conservative figures held a large rally on the National Mall in August.

Norton urged D.C. voters earlier this month to post on her Facebook page the reasons why they think the city should gain a voting representative in Congress, using “as much wit as Colbert uses to make fun of us for not having our full rights,” she said at the time.

“The buzz surrounding the Colbert and Jon Stewart rallies coming to D.C. on October 30, is too great an opportunity to miss to pay back Colbert and to remind those who come that, unlike Colbert, D.C. has a cause worthy of a rally,” said Norton.
Some folks on Twitter have come up with pleanty of creative names for this alleged "non-political" Democrat rally.

Robert 'Tariq Aziz' Gibbs: Obama's Disastrous Appearance With Jon Stewart Went Swimmingly

What more do you expect from the spokesman for the captain of The Titanic? This guy ought to be a hoot come next Wednesday.
Despite Jon Stewart's apparent disappointment with President Obama's "timid" first two years in office, White House press secretary Robert Gibbs said Thursday that he thinks Obama's appearance on "The Daily Show" was a "success."

But Stewart gave voice to disgruntled Democrats who question whether Obama has fought hard enough for their issues on matters like "Don't ask, don't tell" and the public health insurance option.

That voice led many to wonder on Thursday, one day after the show aired, if the White House might have made a mistake in sending Obama onto the show with just days to go until the election.

Gibbs said that he does not "have any regret" about Obama doing the show.

"Our viewpoint is that when the president gets to talk about what he's done and sit through what people may or may not have heard, it's a positive benefit," Gibbs said. "So I would think of it as a success."
I can't wait until Stewart and his Comedy Central co-clown Colbert show up for their "rally for whatever" in DC this weekend. Actually, I can wait. I have a life, unlike the great unwashed who'll be wasting their time listening to two dispirited douchebags desperately trying to rally depressed Obamatons. Deep down they know it's over and probably wish they hadn't committed themselves to what's sure to be a colossal embarrassment. Well, unless you'll be watching CNN or MSNBC, where they'll surely be trying to prop up the hapless Obama.

NYDN: Jon Stewart Rally as 'Astroturfed' as Tea Party Events

This rockhead laments Obama's gross overexposure the past couple of years as a reason why he's so unpopular, but misses the target by a mile with a lame swipe at Tea Partiers. It's a popular cliche with the left that Tea Party events are somehow organized by the GOP while Democrat gatherings are just spontaneous gatherings by folks clamoring for change. Nothing like getting it backwards. Still, he seems to coming coming to his senses that Obama has degraded the office by spreading himself so thin and appearing on any outlet that'll have him. We noticed this over a year ago when he started making basketball picks on ESPN, and apparently this guy has finally figured it out.
President Obama should make the most of his "Daily Show" appearance on Wednesday night - charming the pants off Jon Stewart and the crowd, as he did when he showed up there two years ago. It's a terrific show, Stewart is a great interviewer and Obama makes good television.

Then, the President should cancel all future trivial media appearances. While they may have kept him personally popular, in broad terms they've degraded the Obama brand.

Obama's handlers were supposed to be smarter than this. They were supposed to use his celebrity strategically to advance his agenda. Instead, they've been indiscriminate, carpet-bombing Americans with the man they elected rather than launching communications smart weapons.

The result is that for millions of Americans, the very likable, charming Obama has become a constant tone in the background rather than an occasional, convincing, presidential voice in the foreground - the kind that makes your ears perk up.
Sorry to interrupt the slobbering, but Obama isn't that charming and not all that likable. If he was his approval rating wouldn't be in the toilet.
Consider all the quasi-entertainment media appearances he's made, most of them frivolous.

He went on ESPN twice to announce his Final Four picks. He went on "The View" (drawing 6.5 million viewers). He had a "Christmas at the White House" special with Oprah Winfrey. He went on Jay Leno - becoming the first sitting President to appear on a late-night show. He was on the cover of Rolling Stone, giving a revealing interview looking back on his first 18 months in office. In December, he'll be going on the Discovery Channel's "MythBusters."

All that's left, apparently, is to be a guest voice on "The Simpsons," though I'm sure that's in the offing. Banksy will animate.

This "Daily Show" appearance makes a second strategic mistake. By chumming it up with Stewart just days before the Rally to Restore Sanity, Obama and Stewart are coopting each other. The President is killing two mockingbirds with one stone.

Without Obama's and Oprah's fingerprints on it, the rally might have looked like a semi-spontaneous uprising by moderate-as-hell Americans sick and tired of the extremists. Now, it'll appear to be a Democratic Party event, through and through - every bit as "Astroturfed" as most of the big Tea Party events.
Ready, fire, aim. It's this smug interpretation of a popular uprising why guys like this will be left scratching his pointy head next Tuesday wondering why all those stupid extremists have overwhelmingly rejected Obama and the Democrats. They just don't get it, and we're fine with that. Keep insulting the public. It doesn't hurt us, it just motivate us more to crush you at the polls and keep a smile on our face while doing it.

More on the smugness and arrogance of the left that's just killing them.
The smug condescension in this — we’re losing because voters are panicky and confused — is matched only by its apparent cluelessness. Does Obama really believe that demeaning ordinary Americans is the way to improve his party’s fortunes? Or that his dwindling job approval is due to the public’s weak grip on “facts and science’’ and not, say, to his own divisive and doctrinaire performance as president?

Perhaps he does. Or perhaps he just says such things when speaking to liberal donors. It was at a San Francisco fundraiser in 2008 that Obama described hard-pressed citizens in the small towns of Pennsylvania as “bitter’’ people who “cling to guns or religion or antipathy toward people who aren’t like them . . . as a way to explain their frustrations.’’

Obama is far from alone in looking down his nose at the great unwashed. Last month, Senator John Kerry explained that Democrats are facing such headwinds these days because voters are easily swayed dolts: “We have an electorate that doesn’t always pay that much attention to what’s going on, so people are influenced by a simple slogan rather than the facts or the truth.’’

Meanwhile, the rise of the Tea Party movement, one of the most extraordinary waves of civic engagement in modern American politics and a major driver of the 2010 election season, has drawn no end of scorn from Democrats and their cheerleaders in the media.
A perfect segue to this buffoon.

Hopeless: Obama Plummets to No. 21 on Dopey Website's List of Most Influential Men

How bad are things for Obama? Well, the top ten on this list includes a couple of guys I've never even heard of and the list also includes that schmuck Jet Blue flight attendant whose 15 minutes of fame were over about six weeks ago as well as that assclown from Wikileaks. At least Obama beat him out. Most influential? Why, a guy who supposedly is a comedian but really isn't all that funny.
Barack Obama may be the leader of the free world, but he is not even close to being America’s most influential man -- at least, not according to AskMen.com.

That title goes to funnyman Jon Stewart, according to the latest rankings put out by the men's online magazine.

The 2010 list names the top 49 most influential men in the country, as selected by the website’s staffers and votes from more than half a million readers.

"These are the men history will remember as having defined 2010," the list brags.

Like many other polls these days, the rankings offer more bad news for President Obama, who was once seen as an inspirational figure but has watched his popularity plummet since his election in 2008.

According to the site, Comedy Central host Stewart snagged the top spot for "fighting his own brand of war in the vicious battleground of cable television, leading the charge of personalities and ideals against the behemoth, ultra-right American news media."
The ultra-right American news media? Which is what, one cable channel and a couple of newspapers? Do these clowns expect to be taken seriously?
Obama has fallen far from his heyday of 2008, when he easily grabbed the list’s No.1 spot – even before winning the presidential election.

Back then, the site couldn't praise him highly enough. “For millions of young guys voting for the first time, Barack Obama isn’t a symbol of change – he is the emissary of their legacy,” AskMen raved. “His arrival tells them that they aren’t doomed to inherit the archaic cynicism of their parents, but are free to entertain their own hopes and dreams."

Now the President isn’t even in the top 20. He rolled in this year at No. 21, behind Conan O'Brien, LeBron James, Stephen Colbert, Jay-Z and Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg, among others.

He was even beaten by rapper Kanye West, who was named the most hated celebrity of 2009.

"Nearly two years into his presidency, Barack Obama’s rallying cry of 'Yes we can' is starting to look like a bitter joke," the site writes.

Stupid: Colbert and Stewart Plan 'Rally to Restore Sanity'

This big event will occur the weekend before the Democrats get their asses kicked on November 2. We'll be the ones laughing at these clowns come election night.
Comedians Jon Stewart and Steven Colbert plan a pair of rallies in the National Mall shortly before Election Day.

Stewart said he was organizing a "Rally to Restore Sanity" in Washington on Oct. 30, billed as a "million moderate march" against ideological extremists in both parties.

Colbert, who plays a hyperbolic conservative personality on his show, announced a "March to Keep Fear Alive" in response to Stewart.

Both events ostensibly have the purpose of mocking some of the more strident rhetoric members of both parties have employed in political debates over the past decade.

Stewart's event, in particular, seems to be more of a direct response to the Fox News host Glenn Beck, who held a "Restoring Honor" rally on the mall in August. That event drew a hoard of conservative supporters (crowd estimates ranged around several hundred thousand participants), and focused on largely religious themes. Top GOP personalities like former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin (R) did participate.
A hoard of conservative supporters? Uh, it's horde, and it was several hundred thousand people, at least.

'This Guy is One Scotch Away From Being Ron Burgundy'

Twice in one week we go to Jon Stewart for some mockery of the left, in this case the idiotic Chris Matthews, a man still mysteriously employed by MSNBC. I guess being a racist asshole has its benefits.

Jon Stewart Goofs on Obama For Using TelePrompter at School

I guess Stewart is now officially off the Hopenchange Express. Who knows, maybe he's even reading those evil rightwing blogs that dare poke fun at The One.

Most Dangerous Place in America? A Joe Biden Motorcade, Apparently

While his boss is over is Asia bowing at everyone who walks by, the simpleton Vice President is tending to important business, like tying up Manhattan rush hour traffic so he can visit White House press attache Jon Stewart. Seems everywhere Greasy Joe goes trouble follows.
A police car working ahead of Vice President Joe Biden's motorcade was involved in a minor traffic accident Tuesday evening, but it wasn't part of the procession and the vice president was unhurt.

Three unmarked police vehicles, with their lights and sirens on, were traveling 5 to 10 minutes ahead of the motorcade on Manhattan's West Side and were checking traffic before Biden passed en route to an appearance on "The Daily Show with Jon Stewart," chief police spokesman Paul Browne said.

The cars were going through an intersection when the second one collided with a livery cab around 5:40 p.m. Traffic had stopped for the police, but the livery cab driver pulled out around the line of vehicles and was trying to go through the intersection, police said.
Just imagine the howls if Dick Cheney was traipsing through Manhattan at rush hour. We'd never hear the end of it.

This isn't the only accident involving Biden escorts this week.
Vehicles linked to Biden have already been involved in two accidents in a week. Last Thursday, two armored Secret Service vehicles struck and killed a man as he was crossing a parkway in Maryland. Biden was in neither vehicle at the time.

In another accident, a sheriff's deputy was injured Monday in Albuquerque, N.M., when a woman drove around police vehicles blocking an intersection and collided with the deputy's car.

Biden had been in Albuquerque to speak at a campaign fundraiser for two New Mexico Democrats.
I guess Biden has no other business to tend to, like getting his vaunted Recovery.gov website working properly.

Update: Apparently Biden thinks Obama's bowing is some kind of joke. What a cut-up. Via Rizzuto.

Credit Where Due: Jon Stewart Hammers Obama Over Wounded Vet Policy

When we noted this item about Jon Stewart Tuesday we got some grief in the comments. Not deserving, necessarily, but hey, people are entitled to their opinions. So just to show how fair and magnanimous we are, here's a clip of Stweart hammering Obama and the Democrats for their incredibly stupid idea of making wounded vets pay for their own care. When even ultra-libs like Stewart think it's a bad idea, Obama better wisen up.

Jon Stewart's Inside Connections

Hmm, I wonder if all of Jon Stewart's adoring fans are aware of his brother's role on Wall Street? Seems like the champion of the little people has some connections in high places.
JON Stewart, the scourge of Wall Street and bane of CNBC, may have had a secret weapon in his corner to help him prep for his grudge match with "Mad Money" host, Jim Cramer - his older brother.

As the Wall Street Journal recently pointed out, Stewart's brother, Larry Leibowitz, is head of US Markets & Global Technology at NYSE Euronext. (Stewart's given surname is also "Leibowitz," but he famously told "60 Minutes" that he changed it to "Stewart" because Leibowitz "sounded too Hollywood"). Larry has also held high positions at Credit Suisse and Morgan Stanley.

A Page Six spy who recently shared an elevator ride at the NYSE with Leibowitz and Big Board CEO Duncan Niederauer says, "They both got off on the sixth floor, after Leibowitz had practically been doing everything but shine his shoes for the short ride up. What a routine they have. One brother pretends to kick Wall Street's butt by crucifying Cramer on his show, while the other brother is down on Wall Street kissing it."
Ouch.

I wonder is this pompous poseur Stewart has ever disclosed his Wall Street connections to his audience?

How Jon Stewart Led Us to War

He shall not be criticized

Really, you can't make this stuff up. Proving conclusively how angry moonbats are incapable of understanding or appreciating humor, Huffington Post idiot Joseph Palermo goes on an insane rant against Daily Show host Jon Stewart, hardly a tool of the GOP, for having the audacity to make some jokes about Barack Obama. This really is beyond self-parody (H/T Hot Air).
Slamming the UN weapons inspectors as ineffectual twits dominated right-wing talk radio at the time and The Daily Show was in effect regurgitating the talking points of those who wanted to bring the country to war. Dissing the UN's efforts on Comedy Central inadvertently helped in make the case for war. It is kind of like when Dick Cheney pointed to the New York Times to buttress his warmongering saying: "Hey, even the liberals agree with us!" When Jon Stewart seeks "balance" for his targets of satire he can end up reinforcing the false impressions that the Bush Republicans want people to have.
Does this idiot realize how paranoid he sounds? He freely calls people warmongers, yet even the slightest hint of criticism of The Messiah is totally out of bounds.

Goodness, we have a mass psychosis at work here.
So too was the case last night when Jon Stewart ran a bit about Barack Obama's decision to eschew public financing. The Daily Show seized the issue as an opportunity to display "balance" and to poke fun at the Obama campaign. But not only did the bit fall flat it played right into the Republican line, which is full of half-truths and outright lies about Obama's decision. Just watch the right-wing radio shock jocks and the literati warmongers like David Brooks and William Kristol -- who are always looking for a cute "hook" to slime Obama -- cite The Daily Show as confirming, from a hip "liberal" source, their worst fears about Obama. They'll say: "See, we told you so, even the liberals are beginning to see what we've known all along, Obama is just the same old politics, etc."
...
Jon Stewart and The Daily Show should be mindful whenever Obama is the target of their satire that they don't end up regurgitating Republican talking points. The Daily Show is far more influential than it was four years ago when Bush still had millions of people duped. The producers should be careful when poking fun at Obama not to provide fuel for the right-wing slime machine. Poke fun at Obama all you want, but do it in a way that also reveals the Republicans' mendacity and hypocrisy.
Dude, stop hyperventilating.

Inevitably, you know where this is going, right? Why, on to Swiftboating!. These twits will just never get over their boy John Kerry being exposed for the fraud he is.
In 2004, we had the spectacle of the "Swift Boat Veterans for Truth" (many of whom are now working for the John McCain campaign) making the rounds on ABC, CBS, NBC, Fox, CNN, NPR, and PBS peddling their lies about John Kerry's Vietnam war record. Yes, even the venerable "serious" news hosts Jim Lehrer and Tim Russert gave the Swift Boaters airtime to libel Kerry. What the Swift Boaters and their media enablers did was worse than anything Joseph McCarthy or Richard Nixon ever cooked up. They pissed all over a man's war record. And even if you believe the Vietnam War was wrong (as I do), trashing a veteran's Purple Hearts is really beyond the pale. Kerry risked his life for his country in Vietnam; the U.S. Navy gave him medals for his efforts; end of story.
Of course having HuffPosters trash John McCain is perfectly fine. Projection, anyone?
I point to this shameful Swift Boat episode from our last presidential election to illustrate the level of toxicity in our media environment. In such a contaminated and sulfurous political context anyone who wishes to rid the nation of the dead hand of Republican misrule must be careful not to play into the narratives the Right is expert in constructing every four years. That cautionary note applies especially to television shows that can influence the political climate ever so slightly in this pivotal election year.

Yeah, that means you Jon Stewart.
Funny, but I don't recall the SBVT getting much airtime. Their detractors had plenty, that's for sure.

If John Kerry was libeled, as this chump claims, then why didn't he sue? Why didn't he produce his records?

Why? Because the SBVT were right, that's why.

The Huffington Post clowns are so unhinged, one can only imagine the conspiracies they'll come up with when Barack Obama loses in November.

They must really be worried if they're already going after people who are on their side.

I see why this guy is so nutty. He teaches at UC-Santa Cruz. That explains so much. Put down the bong, dude.
