Pathetic: Sebelius Says Seniors Will Die Sooner Under Ryan Plan

She's on to Paul Ryan's nefarious scheme. It's quite obvious a winning plan involves killing off old people, right?

Seriously, can these people be any more pathetic? In a sane world, her boss and her party would denounce her and have her removed from her job. Instead, they'll run with this nonsense.

HHS Secretary Kathleen Sebelius said that the Ryan Medicare proposal will lead to early deaths among seniors.

During testimony before the House Education and the Workforce Committee, she said seniors “will run out of money very quickly.”

She continued, “If you run out of the government voucher and then you run out of your own money, you’re left to scrape together charity care, go without care, die sooner. There really aren’t a lot of options.”

Medicare already is broke and there really aren't any options. But with demagogues like Sebelius and Obama nothing will get done. This is their campaign message for 2012: Hey, old people: Vote for us or die!!!

Sebelius Calls for 'Reeducation' on ObamaCare

Perhaps she should first start out by educating Democrats on what's in the law since they were so hesitant to read it before they shoved this crap sandwich down our throats. Considering the dire straits Democrats are in two months out of the impending November bloodbath, a surly electorate isn't quite going to like hearing it's time for reeducation.

With a number of polls showing a sustained level of opposition to the Democrats’ health care reform efforts more than five months after passage, Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius said the Obama administration has “a lot of reeducation to do” heading into the midterms.

While some surveys – namely the Kaiser Family Foundation monthly tracking poll – have suggested an uptick in support for the reforms, most other surveys continue to show a steady level of opposition to the new law that remains higher than the favorable opinions of it.

“Unfortunately, there still is a great deal of confusion about what is in [the reform law] and what isn’t,” Sebelius told ABC News Radio in an interview Monday.

With several vulnerable House Democrats touting their votes against the bill, and Republicans running on repeal, Sebelius said “misinformation given on a 24/7 basis” has led to the enduring opposition nearly six months after the lengthy debate ended in Congress.

“So, we have a lot of reeducation to do,” Sebelius said.

I just hope the Purple People Beaters from the SEIU won't be running the camps.

Reuters Now An Obama Attack Dog?

Yesterday there was much ado about a story claiming that Wellpoint, a health insurance company which includes the Blue Cross/Blue Shield brand in 15 states, was dropping the coverage of women who were diagnosed with breast cancer.

Wellpoint released a press release citing the inaccuracies in the Reuters report.

So what does Reuters do? What any good news agencies would do, and that is correct the story.

Sorta. When browsing the Reuters web site I found this description of the updated story.

* Corrected: WellPoint routinely targets breast cancer patients
* ... all references to Robin Beaton in first paragraph and throughout to reflect that the insurance company that canceled her policy was not a WellPoint subsidiary). ...

The funny thing is however when I click on the link to see the correction there is no mention of what was done to correct the story and instead they simply removed the information with no further explanation.

Today our wonderful HHS Secretary Kathleen Sebelius is continuing her assault against Wellpoint. Remember Alinsky's Rule for Radical. Identify an enemy, isolate and attack. It seems in this whole debate over health care Wellpoint has been the designated whipping boy. Partly because last year when the debate over the nationalized health care was heating up Wellpoint had the audacity to provide the administration with exactly what they wanted. The congress and the administration asked Wellpoint to crunch the numbers and project what the cost of insurance premiums would be under the current legislation. Well congress didn't like the numbers but Wellpoint CEO Angela Braly stood firm. We all know how liberals view strong women who oppose them and so Angela and her corporation have now become Public Enemy #1 in the eyes of this administration.

The Reuters story is falling apart but one has to wonder what would have started them on the path to doing an investigative piece against Wellpoint. The basis of the story is relevant and one that I think should be looked into. All I am asking is that when you do your reporting do it factually and leave your pre-conceived notions at home. Also before you single out a business for abuse you just might want to make sure you have the right company.

For healthcare the enemy is Wellpoint and for the financial reform it is Goldman Sachs. One has to wonder who is in the crosshairs for the Cap and Trade imperative and who can they make an enemy out of on immigration. The pattern is pretty clear though. Attack the heavy hitters in a certain sector of the business world. Class warfare at it's best and the private sector had better start getting some skin in the game or it is going to be game over for the private sector.

The whole damn thing is a scam, which makes this the perfect headline. Imagine the shock of this dimwit Sebelius to find out scammers are trying to scam people over a scam pulled by scammers.

President Barack Obama's top health official says scam artists are taking advantage of the new insurance law to peddle phony policies.

Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius said Tuesday she's writing state officials about a proliferation of scams involving the new health care law, which Obama signed March 23. Federal fraud investigators are also on the lookout.

Of course we don't get to enjoy the wondrous "benefits" of this scam until 2014.

In fact, the big expansion of coverage won't come until 2014. And door-to-door salespeople are unlikely to be part of the plan.

Of course that'll probably change since about 20 million more people will be unemployed by then and the gubmint can use some of them as muscle for the IRS agents that will be coming door-to-door to make sure you're signing up.

Stunner: Obama Using Government Website for Propaganda

Actually, the stunner would be finding a givernment website these days that isn't promoting Obama's shameless propaganda.

Senate Finance ranking member Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) is raising concerns that a Department of Health and Human Services Web site that urges visitors to send an e-mail to President Barack Obama praising his health care reform plan may violate rules against government-funded propaganda.

The Web page is accessed through a “state your support” button featured prominently on the HHS Web site and carries a disclaimer that the Web site is maintained by HHS.

In a letter sent to HHS Secretary Kathleen Sebelius Tuesday, Grassley warned that “any possible misuse of appropriated funds by the executive branch to engage in publicity or propaganda in support of an Administration priority is a matter that must be investigated and taken seriously,” noting that in 2005 Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) argued that “the use of official funds for similar activities were 'underhanded tactics' and that these tactics 'are not worthy of our great democracy.'”

Of course that was then and this is now. Pelosi also said she was restoring integrity to the Congress.

OK, stop laughing.

Ironic, isn't it, that despite all the efforts, slobbering media coverage and owning the state-run media, Obama is now opposed by a majority on virtually every issue.

Just imagine where he'd be if there was integrity in government and a fair a balanced media. This is worthy of investigation but you can almost guarantee it will be ignored by the Obama lackeys in the lamestream media.

The form letter on the “state your support” page includes language hailing Obama's efforts. “We strongly support your commitment to comprehensive health reform. This is not a luxury. The continuing, sharp escalation of health care costs for families, businesses, and government is unsustainable. Reform is imperative. We believe that health reform must be enacted this year,” the letter says.

Additionally, the form letter says that signatories will back Obama's efforts. “During these extraordinarily challenging times, we need to put aside past differences and address the health and economic crisis. Our shared interest must come before narrow interests so we can achieve a health system that is affordable and provides high quality for all Americans. We will support your budget with its reserve fund dedicated to achieving health care reform in a fiscally responsible manner. Each of us must be prepared to contribute to achieving this fundamental goal. By signing this statement we affirm our commitment to work with you and our Congressional leaders to enact legislation this year which provides affordable, high quality coverage for all Americans.”

The page requires signatories to provide their name, zip code and e-mail address, and also asks for their mailing address and phone number, although that information is not labeled as required.

Incredibly creepy. Sounds to me like you're signing over your allegiance to Dear Leader.

Treasury Secretary a Global Warming Acolyte

The one common thread all of the appointees the President In Training Pants have is they are global warming acolytes. From Steven Chu, the Energy Secretary, to his EPA chief, Lisa Jackson, and now even the Treasury Secretary.

U.S. oil and natural gas producing companies should not receive federal subsidies in the form of tax breaks because their businesses contribute to global warming, U.S. Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner told Congress on Wednesday.

The absolute refusal of any of the liberals in congress and all of the inner circle of Obama advisers to allow us to pursue and process a natural resource we have at our fingertips to fuel our energy needs until any of these alternative energy sources become viable or sustainable is just plain nuts.

The Treasury Secretary coming out and saying he is against any incentives for oil and gas companies while the EPA chief is vigorously pursuing having CO2 declared a greenhouse gas in her efforts to shut down coal power plants like the new Health and Human Services Secretary, Kathleen Seblius did while governor of Kansas to Steven Chu who has reservations about nuclear power due to concerns about managing the waste material, his whole inner circle is working very hard to cripple this country.

Jobs and health care won't mean much if you don't have the power to light the workplace or handle all of the high tech medical equipment in hospitals to treat the sick.

This is just unbelievable and if I have said it once I am going to say it for the hundredth time, this administration is going to use its slavish devotion to the cult of global warming to wreck this economy, beyond the stage at which it may be possible to recover.

For all you folks all excited and jumping for joy at that $13 you are getting back in your paychecks, try this on for size.

The Obama administration's budget would levy an excise tax on oil and natural gas produced in the Gulf of Mexico, raising $5.3 billion in revenue from 2011 to 2019.

This new 13 percent tax on all oil and gas production in the Gulf would only affect those companies enjoying a loophole that allows them to avoid paying royalties on the energy supplies they drill. Companies already paying royalties would get a tax credit.

Obama's budget would also place a $4 per acre annual fee on energy leases in the Gulf that are designated as nonproducing. The budget proposal projects the fee would generate $1.2 billion from 2010 to 2019.

Those fees and taxes will be passed right on to the consumer who uses gas in their car or natural gas to heat their home.

The government giveth and the government taketh away. And taketh. And taketh.

BDS at AP: Iraq War Hampers Kansas Cleanup

Well, Bush has been blamed for 9/11, Katrina, global warming and any number of problems under the sun, so why not?

GREENSBURG, Kan. (AP) -- The rebuilding effort in tornado-ravaged Greensburg, Kansas, likely will be hampered because some much-needed equipment is in Iraq, said that state’s governor.

Governor Kathleen Sebelius said much of the National Guard equipment usually positioned around the state to respond to emergencies is gone. She said not having immediate access to things like tents, trucks and semitrailers will really handicap the rebuilding effort.

I'd ask the Governor this: If the equipment was moved to Iraq, obviously you, as governor, were aware of that fact. What did you do to replace it and/or have a contingency plan?
