Reverend Vanilla Ice Sent On Leave

This was a no-brainer. Longtime pal of the freshly-coronated Barack Obama Rev. Michael Pfleger has been removed from his duties.

The firebrand pastor of St. Sabina parish was removed from his duties there Tuesday, according to a statement released by the Archdiocese of Chicago.

In the statement, Cardinal Francis George says he asked the Rev. Michael Pfleger, 59, to "take leave for a couple of weeks from his pastoral duties." The statement said Pfleger "does not believe this to be the right step at this time." "While respecting his disagreement, I have nevertheless asked him to use this opportunity to reflect on his recent statements and actions in the light of the Church's regulations for all Catholic priests," George said.

Hopefully, Pfleger's leave willl include psychiatric evaluation and sensitivity training to gain more cultural awareness. Oh, and not to be such a dumb fuck as to go on tirades while the satellite feed is on.

Idiot.

I'm sure the media will be all over Obama with questions tonight.

To no surprise, the psychotic priest and good buddy of Barack Obama, the Rev. Michael Pfleger, is now playing the victim card.

A time-tested routine in far-left circles. Say something outrageous, get called on it, then start the poor me act.

Lame. Really lame.

Naturally, he provides no evidence as to who they are (probably the neo-cons), just like Obama offered none Saturday night when he claimed the media were harassing Trinity Church members.

Well, Reverend Vanilla Ice claims he'll speak out today. We're all breathless with anticipation.

The Rev. Michael Pfleger, who helped reignite Barack Obama's pastor problems by mocking Hillary Clinton, said this evening he's received "thousands of hate threats" since his videotaped pulpit rant.

"They want to kill me," Pfleger told parishioners during a service in a St. Sabina Church chapel on Chicago's South Side this evening. "It's been very ugly.

No, sir, what's ugly is your antics, Jeremiah Wright's antics, and Michelle Obama's antics. Being exposed for a race-baiting hustler, well, that just comes with the scrutiny Obama is finally facing from a mostly compliant media who finally realize wearing cheerleder outfits and waving pom-poms looks unprofessional.

In his brief comments this evening, Pfleger did not name any candidates, and said he would address the controversy at a Sunday mass at St. Sabina.

"I'm not going to make a statement," Pfleger told the crowded chapel. "My real statement will be tomorrow."

But he did say it's been a difficult week filled with an unspecified surgery on Tuesday and a deluge of threats.

"It's a very difficult situation," he said. "I've received thousands of hate threats."

He did not offer any specifics from the pulpit, and declined through an aide to comment further. That included declining a specific request by the Sun-Times for a comment on Obama's decision to leave Trinity church.

As for Obama, as noted earlier, he provides no evidence church members are being harassed.

Just making it up as he goes along.

But even before Pfleger's lapse, Obama said "It's also clear that Rev. Moss and the church have been suffering from all of the tension my campaign has visited on them. We have these news organizations harassing members at their homes and workplaces."

If indeed some media outlets are badgering people, then shame on them. But shouldn't we at least identify who's doing it?

Meanwhile, Obama's headaches continue to pile up. If this is true and he's got an enemy agent as an advisor, then Hillary Clinton would be insane to pack it in.

Change! Obama Flees Crazy Church

Now there's a man of principle, willing to stand up for his friends and spiritual mentors.

Uh, not really.

Sen. Barack Obama's campaign confirmed Saturday that he has resigned from the Chicago church where controversial sermons by his former pastor and other ministers created repeated political headaches for the Democratic frontrunner.

The resignation comes days after the Rev. Michael Pfleger, a visiting Catholic priest, mocked Obama's Democratic rival, Sen. Hillary Clinton, for crying during the runup to the New Hampshire primary.

Previously, the Rev. Jeremiah Wright, former pastor at Trinity United Church of Christ and Obama's minister for about 20 years, drew unwanted attention for the campaign when videos of his fiery sermons surfaced.

Father Michael Pfleger, a fiery liberal social activist and a white reverend at an African-American church -- St. Sabina’s Catholic Church on the South Side of Chicago -- is a longtime friend and associate of Sen. Barack Obama, D-Illinois, having known him since the presidential hopeful was a community activist. In September, the Obama campaign brought Pfleger to Iowa to host one of several interfaith forums for the campaign.

Their relationship spans decades. Pfleger has given money to Obama's campaigns and Obama as a state legislator directed at least $225,000 towards social programs at St. Sabina's, according to the Chicago Tribune.

A new Youtube video making the rounds shows Pfleger speaking at Obama's church, Trinity United Church of Christ, just last Sunday, mocking Sen. Hillary Clinton, D-NY, for having cried in New Hampshire, suggesting that she wept because she thought as a white person and wife of a former president she was entitled to the presidency.

“As I have traveled this country, I've been impressed not by what divides us, but by all that that unites us. That is why I am deeply disappointed in Father Pfleger's divisive, backward-looking rhetoric, which doesn't reflect the country I see or the desire of people across America to come together in common cause," Obama said in a statement.

Lame. A guy who claims to want to unite people is surrounded by those who hate and divide. A tad incongruous.
