NBC Bootlickers Upset With Obama

The dying days of Hopenchange are really becoming a lot of fun. Here you have NBC News, more in the tank for Barack Obama than any other lamestream media outlet, and now they're whining about their hero giving ABC News more access. This is like a hooker bitching about being shortchanged.

TVNewser has learned that NBC News has filed a formal complaint with the White House press office over the distribution of presidential interviews, specifically that several of the most recent broadcast TV interviews have gone to ABC News -- including George Stephanopoulos's interview yesterday and Charlie Gibson's December 15.

NBC is reportedly claiming Stephanopoulos' friendship with White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel has helped land the interviews. But insiders tell us those decisions are generally left to Press Secretary Robert Gibbs.

An NBC News spokesperson had no comment on the matter.

Not For Public Distribution

Brian Williams of NBC news, speaking in a sort of hushed tone, is proud to proclaim that they have a Pentagon report that was not meant for public distribution which outlines the problems we are facing in Afghanistan in training up Afghan security forces.

I griped about this sort thing when it happened under former President Bush and I will continue to gripe about it. Most informed people, meaning folks who don't get all of their news from the old media machine, are aware of the challenges facing us in Afghanistan, but the media never miss a chance to leak reports such as this in their pursuit of a Pulitzer.

It's Time to Cap Salaries at NBC News

Since Barack Obama and tax cheat Tim Geithner have decided to impose salary caps on executives of bailed out companies, isn't it time that employees at NBC News got the same treatment?

After all, some of them are rewarded handsomely for publicly fellating Democrats.

More Conflicts of Interest at NBC

As anyone with a pulse knows, NBC News has tilted so far to the left this election season they've done everything but dress up their on-air news "talent" in cheerleader outfits with an Obama logo on them.

Now comes word that with the current economic crisis, a couple more glaring conflicts are causing concern.

NBC is under fire for having correspondent Andrea Mitchell cover the economic crisis because she's married to former Federal Reserve chief Alan Greenspan - but some people are also wondering about David Gregory, who has a show, "Race for the White House" on MSNBC. Gregory is married to Beth Wilkinson - who until a month ago was general counsel, executive vice president and corporate secretary for mortgage giant Fannie Mae, which is now being investigated by the FBI.

Everyone knows Mitchell is married to Greenspan, but he's no longer Fed chair and you can probably cut her some slack. But as for Gregory, his obvious conflict of interest should preclude him from reporting on any matters related to Fannie Mae. When the time comes, as it should, that former Fannie Mae officials are indicted or brought forth to testify before Congress, will NBC even mention Wilkinson is married to one of their star reporters?

By the way, when it comes to being in the tank, how on earth did someone who's clearly rooting for Obama wind up moderating a debate?

Could you envision a John McCain supporter with a book due to be published on Inauguration Day being allowed to moderate a debate?

Of course not. No shock she also used to be employed by ... NBC.

Cho Called NBC During VA Tech Massacre

Things are moving fast.

Rambling communication, video being examined by FBI, network says

Sometime after he killed two people in a Virginia university dormitory but before he slaughtered 30 more in a classroom building Monday morning, Cho Seung-Hui sent NBC News a rambling communication and videos about his grievances, the network said Wednesday.

Cho, 23, a senior English major at Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University, killed 32 people in two attacks Monday before taking his own life.

Network officials turned the material over to the FBI and said they would not immediately disclose its contents beyond characterizing the material as “disturbing.” It included a written communication, photographs and video.

Brian Williams, anchor and managing editor of “NBC Nightly News,” said in a posting on the program’s “Daily Nightly” blog that the communication was received earlier Wednesday. He described it as a very long “multimedia manifesto.”
The package, timestamped in the two-hour window between Monday's shootings, was sent to NBC News head Steve Capus.It contained digital photos of the gunman holding weapons and a manifesto that "rants against rich people and warns that he wants to get even," The Associated Press quoted an unidentified New York law enforcement official familiar with the case as saying. The official spoke on the condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to speak publicly about it. Police said the development might be "a very new, critical component of this investigation.""We're in the process right now of attempting to analyze and evaluate its worth," said Col. Steve Flaherty, superintendent of Virginia State Police.

As early as 2005, police and school administrators were wrestling with what to do with Cho, who was accused of stalking two female students and was sent to a mental health facility after police obtained a temporary detention order.

I wondered Tuesday why he was still in school, let alone not facing charges.

Setting fires?

Stalking women?

And he's allowed to remain there? I guess maybe we didn't want to offend the poor guy.

Based on his writing, I figure whatever Cho sent will be a psychotic rant.

Maybe he'll blame global warming.
