Giving Thanks: Obama Plummets to New Low

His timing is perfect. Just as he's hitting a new low in his approval index, tonight he'll be having a big party at the White House with a bunch of Hollywood lowlifes.

The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Tuesday shows that 27% of the nation's voters Strongly Approve of the way that Barack Obama is performing his role as President. Forty-two percent (42%) Strongly Disapprove giving Obama a Presidential Approval Index rating of -15. This is the lowest Approval Index rating yet measured for President Obama.

One Year Later: 49% Would Not Vote for Obama

The survey says 45% are still guzzling the Kool-aid. It doesn't mention who they might vote for, but I'm thinking a box of rocks would have a good shot in three years against this miserable failure.

Americans are a little less enthusiastic about the presidential candidacy of Barack Obama this time around.

A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds that 45% of adults say they would be at least somewhat likely to vote for Obama if he was up for reelection right now. Forty-nine percent (49%) say they would be unlikely to vote for the president’s reelection.

Thirty-four percent (34%) would be very likely to support Obama, while 40% say they would be not at all likely to do so.

The question did not specify whom the president would be running against and also was asked of all adults as opposed to just likely voters. Obama carried 53% of the vote nationally over Republican candidate John McCain’s 46% in last November’s election.

As in that contest, women are more supportive of Obama than men. Adults 18 to 29 are more likely to vote for the president than those who are older. Ninety percent (90%) of African-Americans say they would be at least somewhat likely to vote for Obama, compared to 36% of whites.

Obviously that's raaaaacist. It really is a shame so many African-Americans choose to vote for skin color over the candidate.

Obama Keeps Sinking; Now at -13 on Rasmussen

How much you want to wager he'll soon be announcing appearances on Fox News? Hey, it's either that or another Full Ginsburg Sunday followed by a primetime healthcare press conference.

Whatever the case, he's sinking fast.

Forty percent (40%) Strongly Disapprove giving Obama a Presidential Approval Index rating of -13. That’s just a point above the lowest level ever recorded for this President. It’s also the sixth straight day in negative double digits, matching the longest such streak.

Support for the health care plan proposed by the President and Congressional Democrats is down to 42%. Fifty-four percent (54%) are opposed.

Meanwhile, the War on Fox News has become an intractable quagmire. Since he entered office he's gone out of his way to embrace America's enemies. Now it's time to waive the white flag, admit defeat, and appear on Fox News. C'mon, Barry, man up. They won't be so rough on you.

Confirmed: 12% of Americans are Certifiably Insane

What else can you conclude from this? The poll shows 12% of the public is so pathetically obsessed with race one can only figure they're the left, the hard left, the leftover left and the media. Surprisingly, however, a small sampling of supposed Republicans believe this nonsense. Must be those mushy-headed types like Kathleen Parker, David Frum and washed-up bloggers who are hearing voices in their heads.

Twelve percent (12%) of voters nationwide believe that most opponents of President Obama’s health care reform plan are racist. The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds that 67% of voters disagree, and 21% are not sure.

In recent days, several Democrats have suggested that racism is a factor. The most prominent to make that accusation is former President Jimmy Carter.

Eighty-eight percent (88%) of Republicans reject the notion that most of the opponents are racist. So do 78% of voters not affiliated with either major party. However, just 39% of Democrats share that view. Twenty-two percent (22%) of those in the president’s party say that most of the opposition to his plan comes from racists, and another 39% are not sure.

As detestable as this latest meme from the left is I say keep it up. It will only help bury these morons and further send the antique media into the dustbin of history.

The great uniting racial healer in the White House could put an end to this today, but he clearly doesn't want to.

I wonder why?

Props to a liberal with sanity for telling it like it is.

As a liberal, I must ask: Why can't liberals who support Obama make an intelligent argument without accusing those who disagree with us of racism, and sideswiping other liberals who, like me, when I heard Obama's speech, reflexively agreed with Wilson's sentiment - to wit, "Mr. President, you lie!"

Michael Steele, meanwhile, smacks Jimmy Carter.

This is a pathetic distraction by Democrats to shift attention away from the president's wildly unpopular government-run health care plan that the American people simply oppose. Injecting race into the debate over critical issues facing American families doesn’t create jobs, reform our health care system or reduce the growing deficit. It only divides Americans rather than uniting us to find solutions to challenges facing our nation.

Characterizing Americans’ disapproval of President Obama’s policies as being based on race is an outrage and a troubling sign about the lengths Democrats will go to disparage all who disagree with them. Playing the race card shows that Democrats are willing to deal from the bottom of the deck. Our political system has no place for this type of rhetoric.

By the way, 55% now oppose ObamaCare. No wonder the left wants to distract by playing the race card.

Tanking: Obama Approval Hits New Low

The good news? His approval rating is down to 46%. The bad news? His approval rating is 46%.

We've still got a lot of work to do.

Twenty-nine percent (29%) are confident that Congress knows what it’s doing when it comes to the economy. If Americans could vote to keep or replace the entire Congress, 57% would throw out all the legislators and start over again. Just 25% would vote to keep the Congress.

Overall, 46% of voters say they at least somewhat approve of the President's performance. That’s the lowest level of total approval yet measured for Obama. Fifty-three percent (53%) now disapprove. Eighty-one percent (81%) of Democrats approve while 83% of Republicans disapprove. As for those not affiliated with either major party, 66% disapprove.

Those are wretched numbers among independents, which lends credence to the idea the GOP stands to gain a lot of seats in the 2010 midterms.

Uh Oh: Obama Approval Index Hits Record Low

Hey, Barry, how's that vacation going? Probably not so swell this morning.

The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Sunday shows that 27% of the nation's voters Strongly Approve of the way that Barack Obama is performing his role as President. Forty-one percent (41%) Strongly Disapprove giving Obama a Presidential Approval Index rating of -14. These figures mark the lowest Approval Index rating yet recorded for this President. The previous low of -12 was reached on July 30.

Prior to today, the number who Strongly Approved of the President’s performance had never fallen below 29%. Some of the decline has come from within the President’s own party. Just 49% of Democrats offer such a positive assessment of the President at this time.

At the other end of the spectrum, today’s total for Strongly Disapprove matches the highest level yet recorded. The 41% mark was reached just once before and that came one week ago today. Seventy percent (70%) of Republicans now Strongly Disapprove along with 49% of those not affiliated with either major party.

Freefall: Obama Now Below 50% Approval

Chalk this up to hubris, arrogance, snide condescension and the desire to force Americans into a health care scam few want any part of.

The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Friday shows that 30% of the nation's voters now Strongly Approve of the way that Barack Obama is performing his role as President. Thirty-eight percent (38%) Strongly Disapprove giving Obama a Presidential Approval Index rating of -8.

Just 25% believe that the economic stimulus package has helped the economy.

The Presidential Approval Index is calculated by subtracting the number who Strongly Disapprove from the number who Strongly Approve. It is updated daily at 9:30 a.m. Eastern. Updates also available on Twitter.

Overall, 49% of voters say they at least somewhat approve of the President's performance. Today marks the first time his overall approval rating has ever fallen below 50% among Likely Voters nationwide. Fifty-one percent (51%) disapprove.

Eighty-three percent (83%) of Democrats continue to approve of the President’s performance while 80% of Republicans disapprove. Among those not affiliated with either major party, 37% offer a positive assessment. The President earns approval from 51% of women and 47% of men.

The result of this will probably be another media poll sampling 97% Democrats and 3% Republicans in order to boost up Bambi.

Meanwhile, Obama's thugs seem intent of ramming his health care sham through as soon as possible.

Viewers Prefer Dead Guy to Modern News Anchors

If you need any further evidence as to the dire state of the network evening newscasts, consider the fact the recently deceased Walter Cronkite is viewed more favorably by Americans than any of the current talking heads at CBS, NBC, and ABC.

All the Walter wannabes have a ways to go to match the dean of television newscasters who died last Friday. Americans like longtime CBS newscaster Walter Cronkite much more than the current crew of network anchors, perhaps because they see him as less ideologically liberal.

A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds that 78% of Americans have at least a somewhat favorable view of Cronkite, including 52% whose opinion of him is very favorable.

Only 12% have an unfavorable opinion of Cronkite, who stepped down as CBS-TV’s nightly anchorman in 1982.

By comparison, Katie Couric, who now anchors the CBS Nightly News, is viewed unfavorably by more that three times as many adults (38%). Forty-nine percent (49%) have a favorable opinion of Couric.

NBC’s nightly anchorman Brian Williams has 47% with a favorable opinion and 28% unfavorable.

For ABC anchorman Charles Gibson, favorables total 50% and unfavorables total 28%.

Could be a few reasons for this. First, Americans have far more viewing options and the percentage of the population watching any of the evening newscasts is far less than in Cronkite's days. It also stands to reason many of those who were loyal Cronkite viewers have passed on already considering his last CBS broadcast was 28 years ago.

Then there's ideology. While in his years since retirement Cronkite was unabashedly to the left, history portrays him as being non-partisan, although many would argue with that. The current anchors, on the other hand, well, it's not a stretch to call all three liberals, although a couple are better at hiding it (hint: it's the men).

In terms of ideology, only 20% of adults say Cronkite was a liberal, while nearly twice as many (39%) believe that of Couric. Just 25% say Williams is liberal, and 26% believe that of Gibson.

Seventeen percent (17%) say Cronkite was conservative, and 37% view him as a moderate. Couric is seen as conservative by 10% of adults and moderate by 27%.

Williams is viewed as a conservative by only eight percent (8%) of Americans, while 33% regard him as a moderate. Thirteen percent (13%) say Gibson is conservative, but 29% think he is a moderate.

I'd like to know what color the sky is in the world of anyone who thinks Couric is a conservative. They're either to the left of Hugo Chavez or have never seen her on the air.

For all four newscasters, however, anywhere from one-quarter to one-third of adults are not sure where they stand ideologically, which is either good news for journalists who hope to be seen as ideologically neutral or suggests that a sizable number of adults are not watching them enough to form an opinion.

I'd lean toward the latter. Considering on a strong day the three combined total about 20 million viewers, it seems many Americans have no clue who these people are and still cling nostalgically to Cronkite.
