DOZENS of naked women surround the Italian Prime Minister vying with each other to arouse him - this was what Silvio Berlusconi's "bunga bunga" parties were like, as reportedly described to prosecutors by a key participant.

"After dinner we went into a hall in the basement where the bunga bunga was held," Karima El Mahroug, a pole dancer nicknamed Ruby the Heart Stealer, was quoted as saying to investigators in leaks published by La Repubblica daily.

"All the girls were naked during the bung bunga and I had the feeling that they were competing with each other to make Berlusconi notice them by performing more and more daring sexual acts," she was quoted as saying.

Mahroug is the woman prosecutors say Berlusconi paid to have sex with at his luxury villa outside Milan when she was just 17 - a crime in Italy - though both parties deny it.

Heck, if the guy is forced into retirement, he's a natural to be a spokesman for Viagra.

In one of her quoted statements, the voluptuous Moroccan-born Mahroug described her first meeting with Mr Berlusconi at his residence a year ago.

"That evening Berlusconi told me the bunga bunga was a harem that he copied from his friend (Libyan leader Muammar) Gaddafi in which girls strip off and have to give him 'physical pleasures'," she reportedly said.

"The Prime Minister took me to his office and led me to understand that my life would change completely if I took part in the bunga bunga."

Good News: Italian Women Still Like Sex

Sex is fine. They're just not down with the bunga bunga.

More than 100,000 Italian women and their supporters turned out across the country to protest against Premier Silvio Berlusconi, saying his dalliances with young women humiliate the sex as a whole and degrade female dignity.

Backers of the 74-year-old Berlusconi, who is under investigation for allegedly paying for sex with a 17-year-old girl, dismissed the protests as strictly political.

The teenager, a Moroccan night club dancer, has said Berlusconi lavished cash and jewellery on her. Both deny having had sex with each other.

Prostitution isn’t a crime in Italy, but paying a minor for sex is. Prosecutors are requesting to put him quickly on trial in what has been the most sensational probe against Berlusconi in over a decade of criminal cases against him, mainly for dealings in his billion-dollar empire of TV, film, advertising and other business interests.

The premier, who willingly acknowledges his fondness for pretty young women and is being divorced by his wife for his purported dalliances, claims he is being victimized by left-wing prosecutors who want to topple him from power.

From the tiny island of La Maddalena in Sardinia, to larger cities like Naples, Venice and even foreign venues like Paris, where around 400 people gathered outside Sacre Coeur church to bang pots and pans, women pressed for Berlusconi to resign.

In L’Aquila, the mountain town where Berlusconi has boasted about his reconstruction efforts after the 2009 quake damage, women complained they were still waiting for government-promised funds for a centre for abused women.

In the main protest, Rome’s Piazza del Popolo, a central square which can hold about 100,000 people, was packed with mothers, daughters, grandmothers and many husbands and boyfriends as the music blasted across the space, including Aretha Franklin’s song “Respect.”

Caricatures of some of the women promoted by Berlusconi, including former showgirls who are now ministers in his government or other officials from his conservative People of Freedom Party, decorated the walls surrounding the square. Berlusconi’s penchant for choosing starlets for political posts has even been denounced by his estranged wife, Veronica Lario, a former actress herself.

“It’s the fault of TV if women are seen if this way,” said one of the Rome protesters, Eleonora Ermini, a woman in her 60s. “The majority of the people see things (on TV) that the powers want them to see.”

The main jewel in Berlusconi’s Fininvest businesses are Italy’s three largest private TV networks. As premier, he also wields indirect political influence over those networks’ chief competitor, state TV.

Main of the programs on his Mediaset networks are variety shows built around skits featuring scantily clad young women gyrating in sexy moves, showing off plunging necklines, bouncing barely covered behinds and beaming smiles with fleshy lips.

Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi was today at the centre of allegations he took part in four-in-a-bed sex sessions.

Berlusconi, 73, is due to have a 'working dinner' with David Cameron on Wednesday and the two will then give a joint press conference - with aides of the Italian fearing potentially embarrassing questions.

Last summer the media tycoon was embroiled in a scandal when it emerged escorts had been among guests invited to parties he had hosted at his official residence in Rome.

Today a statement to prosecutors by escort Maria Teresa De Nicolo, 38, known as Terry, was published by Italian newspaper La Repubblica which revealed the group sex claim.

Ms De Nicolo's involvement in the parties last year was known but her claim that she and two other escorts were in bed with Berlusconi had not been known.

In her statement she said: 'In the bed there was me, two girls from Rome and Berlusconi,' she added how the scene had unfolded at Berlusconi's Palazzo Grazioli residence in Rome.

Now Berlusconi could technically claim he was in the bed with three women, but it all depends upon what the meaning of in is.

Naturally this latest news is causing some political headaches.

Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi was treated to a 12-minute lap dance in his hotel room during a visit to Brazil this week, it was claimed today.

The 73-year-old, who has been involved in a series of sleazy scandals, was said to have watched the private exhibition of lap and pole dancing while on an official trip to South America.

However Mr Berlusconi's aides today dismissed reports of an exotic dance show as 'wide of the mark' and instead described the event as a 'brief display of traditional local dancing'.

Officials in Rome released a statement after a Brazilian news website published an account of the evening given to them by one of the dancers, named as Alexandra Valenca, 28, who said she was paid £900 for the show.

Ms Valenca said: 'We were hired and told that it was a proposal to make a TV show for Italy. We were told that that he wanted to see some dancing.'

The event is said to have taken place on Monday at the Hotel Tivoli in San Paolo after a 'packed day of meetings' between Mr Berlusconi and Brazilian president Lula da Silva.

Ms Valenca, whose website was today unavailable, added: 'We were told that they were looking for Brazilian dancers for a show in Italy that would be broadcast in two weeks' time.

'Berlusconi was very charming. He said that he wanted to take Brazilian dancers to Italy.

'We did a 12-minute lap and pole dancing show. I didn't stay but the party went on all night.'

But Mr Berlusconi's office said: 'On the evening in question the Prime Minister, his entourage and several security staff attended an event given by a local businessman.

'It was one of many events that Mr Berlusconi attended during his visit and involved a brief display of traditional local dancing. He did not stay for the dinner and after politely remaining for several minutes he left.'

During his two-day visit to Brazi the billionaire media tycoon-turned-politician told a news conference that he had a 'strong of young women after him'.

'He's Filled Parliament With Beautiful Girls'

Must be a terrible burden for those Italian politicians having to work with beautiful girls. It would be nice if we'd have more attractive politicians in office here, but we know how much they frighten the Democrats (see Palin, Sarah).

Let's give Silvio Berlusconi some credit. He does have an eye for the talent.

The Italian prime minister has spent weeks denying reports that his party would stack its list of candidates with attractive young models or actresses.

But the 73-year-old premier was apparently unable to resist the charms of Nicole Minetti, a showgirl turned dental hygienist who he met when his teeth were being repaired after he was attacked by a man with a history of mental illness in Milan in December.

Despite the furore and the wrath of his wife caused by his attempts last year to promote a string of glamorous women as candidates for the European elections, Miss Minetti is reportedly now on a short list to run as a candidate for Mr Berlusconi's People of Freedom (PDL) party in Lombardy, northern Italy.

A former dancer who has appeared on various TV variety shows, she graduated as a dental hygienist last November and within weeks was tending to the prime minister when he was treated in Milan's San Raffaele Hospital for two broken teeth and a smashed nose following the assault on Dec 13.

Hers will not be the only pretty face in the ranks of Mr Berlusconi's party as it seeks to consolidate its hold on power in the elections in 13 of Italy's 20 regions at the end of March.

Graziana Capone, a law graduate and model who has been dubbed "the Angelina Jolie of Puglia," the southern region from which she hails, was recently hired to help mould Mr Berlusconi's image on television, La Repubblica reported. She had also been touted as a possible candidate in the elections.

A smiling Mr Berlusconi was photographed this week as he presented four women who hope to be elected as regional governors, two of whom have cover girl looks: Monica Faenzi and Anna Maria Bernini.

His penchant for favouring brains over beauty earned him exasperated criticism from the main opposition party.

"Berlusconi chooses candidates more for their good looks than for their experience," said Anna Finocchiaro, the Senate leader of the Democratic Party. "He's filled parliament with beautiful girls, albeit competent, but they don't count for anything within the party."

But loyalists within the ranks of his party angrily hit back. Margherita Boniver, an MP, told Corriere della Sera: "I'm astonished. You only have to look at the CVs of our candidates to understand that they are people who are dedicated to politics," said Barbara Saltamartini, an MP who has responsibility for equal opportunities within the PDL, said that Miss Finocchiaro's remarks had shown "that she is an enemy of women".

Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi faced fresh embarrassing revelations today after a magazine claimed he held a New Year's Eve party for 50 young girls.

Berlusconi, 72, has been under pressure for more than a month after it emerged he had a 'close relationship' with teenager Noemi Letizia.

Yesterday he denied having a 'steamy affair' with the 18-year-old and said he would resign if it emerged he had lied about it.

Today respected weekly news magazine L'Espresso printed a six-page article under the headline 'The harem of Berlusconi' as it revealed details of a New Year's party in 2007 at his luxury Sardinian villa.

The magazine described how 50 young girls were flown to Villa Certosa for a 'political course' which involved 'singing, dancing, shopping and lunch'.

L'Espresso said that the party on December 31st ended with a spectacular firework display and described it as a 'dream out of Pretty Woman' with the 'most powerful and richest man in Italy entertaining a group of actresses, models and wannabes'.

Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi, who has compared himself to Jesus Christ and Napoleon, boasted on Friday that he was the world's most popular leader.

The conservative premier, in his third term in office, said opinion poll findings in his possession showed his popularity at just over 75 percent, making him far more popular than U.S. President Barack Obama -- or any other head of government.

"The opinion polls I know say that he (Obama) is at 59 percent. Only (Brazilian President Luiz Inacio) Lula tops 60 percent -- he is at 64 percent. So mine is a record high," he told reporters in Naples where he attended a May Day concert.

On his way out of the concert hall, the 72-year-old Berlusconi -- who has proclaimed himself the Jesus Christ of Italian politics and once said he was second only to Napoleon, except taller -- was heckled by protesters who shouted "Go Away!."

Last year Berlusconi had some peculiar praise for Obaam.

Earlier this month when Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi noted how beautiful Barack Obama's "tan" was, the predictable outrage followed.

Well, apparently Silvio isn't done tweaking The Messiah. Expect more hyperventilating from the left when they see his latest remarks.

Italy's Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi brushed aside international outrage from earlier this month on Sunday to make reference once again to US president-elect Barack Obama's "suntan."

He told ANSA news agency his initial remark was intended as a "compliment," adding that he is equally "envious" of black supermodel Naomi Campbell.

"My compliment to Barack is a little envious," said Berlusconi, who had what he described as a "long, cordial" telephone conversation with the new occupant of the White House -- instigated by Obama -- on November 7.

"We would all like to be tanned like Naomi Campbell and Obama," said the self-made billionaire, who sports a permanent tan, during a press conference in Pescara, Italy.

'He Is Young, He Is Beautiful and He Is Tanned'

Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi today fulsomely praised US election victor Barack Obama as young, beautiful and "tanned" and said the world saw him as a messiah.

"He is young, he is beautiful and he is tanned,'' Berlusconi said in Moscow's Kremlin, when asked how Obama might get along with his Russian counterpart Dmitry Medvedev.

"I think that there is going to be good cooperation,'' Mr Berlusconi said.

Berlusconi warned that Obama, the United States' first black president, would have to deal with inflated expectations from a world that has portrayed Obama "almost as a messiah''.

"There are a lot of expectations that he should not disappoint,'' Berlusconi said.

This nonstop fawning over Obama is going to leave way too many people disappointed.
