A Mother's Day Candidate Profile

Today's candidate profile is a woman running on the Republican ticket to unseat the current Democrat representative for my district in Georgia.

Her name is Deborah Honeycutt. To find out about the incumbent click on the tags at the bottom of the post, but this post is all about Mrs Honeycutt.

She is a doctor and this not her first challenge to the current corrupt politician who is holding the seat right now. A word of advice to Mrs. Honeycutt, don't ignore that sliver of Cobb County that is in the district you want to represent like you did last time. The district in question is 13th and it encompasses much of the southern and western portions of the metro Atlanta including Cobb, Fulton, Clayton, and Fayette. Clayton County is the county that is in danger of losing the accreditation for its schools that I have written about a lot, and one which once again is predominately an African American area and just can't or won't leave the Democrat plantation. That is what makes it such an uphill climb for Deborah Honeycutt. Even thought she is a successful African American woman she has that dreaded (R) after her name and to too many people they simply can't see beyond that.

In 2004 Dr. Honeycutt was President of the Georgia Academy of Family Physicians and in 2005 served as Chairman of the Board of Directors. On the national level she has served on the American Academy of Family Physicians’ Commission on Education. She was twice elected the nationally elected Minority Constituency Delegate and is now the Georgia State Delegate to the American Academy of Family Physicians.

In 2005 she became Medical Director of Good Shepherd Clinic, the free clinic in Morrow, Georgia. She served as medical director there until her decision to run for U.S. Congress in Georgia District 13. Dr. Honeycutt, despite her campaign schedule in 2006, continued to serve free clinic patients as a volunteer physician.

I don't think even the esteemed Dr Howard Dean can boast of such a record. Here is some more information on her stance in regards to small businesses.

Since her website is just starting up it is kind of sparse, but I hope she fills it up and I hope the RNC will see fit to send some money her way to get this corrupt Democrat out of office.

Kieran Michael Lalor for Congress

Simply because I have nothing better to do and because it is becoming very apparent that the congressional races this election cycle are going to be more important then they have in probably 20 years, I have decided to start a series highlighting some conservative candidates for Congress who are ready to challenge the senile, AARP card carrying, stuck in the past residents of the federal frat house. These are fresh faces and folks who can offer new or different answers the problems that have plagued this country in some cases for over half a century. Every election cycle it is the same old tired rhetoric and after the election it is the same old results. Nothing changes, so that once again in the next election the cycle can be repeated. I believe this is called insanity. I am going to start out with the Iraqi veterans who are challenging the old guard, and the one thing we know for sure about the veterans of the GWOT is they can adapt to and overcome any challenge and get results, which is why they should receive the attention of the voters and hopefully wrest away some of these congressional seats from the incumbents and get this country moving forward, not merely continuing to debate, study, and discuss issues, but instead take action.

First up is Kieran Michael Lalor running for the House of Representatives in New York in the 19th district. That seat is currently held by a Democrat, with a long track record of anti-military and left wing activism.

Mr Lalor served in the Marines and is the founder of a group called the Eternal Vigilance Society which is "dedicated to winning the War on Terror by supporting leaders willing to put protecting the nation ahead of politics and who espouse aggressive policies to achieve total victory in the War on Terror."

Besides what is not to like about a guy who makes statements like this in regards to the current Democrat holding the seat.

There is no doubt that this will be an expensive race, and we're not naïve about that. John Hall is my polar opposite in most respects, and fundraising is no different. Hall is funded by the MoveOn.org Left, and his list of campaign donors looks like a passenger list for a Woodstock-bound Volkswagen Splitty. Susan Sarandon, Bonnie Raitt, Pete Seeger. The list goes on and on. Hall likes to run away from tough issues, and he runs straight to Moveon.org and George Soros when he needs fast cash. In fact, Soros just hosted a Hall fundraiser at a 5th Avenue apartment in Manhattan.

I encourage everybody this year to go check out any challenger to the entrenched incumbents in Congress that they have in their area. It is time to get the entitlement-minded Congress critters out so that maybe we can get rid of the unnecessary pork in our budgets and get some folks who will address 21st Century problems with 21st Century solutions. Check out your local candidates of all parties and see if instead of just talking about change you can actually make a change.

William Russell Back in the Race

William Russell, a retired LTC (Lieutenant Colonel) U S Army who is running for Congress in Murtha's district is back on the ballot in Pennsylvania. He was taken off the ballot earlier because a court ruled that he did not have enough required signatures on his petition when he originally decided to jump in the race. To get back on the ballot the voters in this recent primary had to write in his name. The Pennsylvanians came through for him.

According to the partial returns he has 1607 4700 votes so far according to National Review. He needed a thousand. Unless Jack Murtha can find some other way to get him disqualified Jack, no friend of the Marines, Murtha will have a Republican opponent this time.

Can Mr Russell beat Murtha? That remains to be seen, but if some sort of throw out the incumbents movement sweeps the nation he has a chance. I would hope the people of Pennsylvania are tired of being embarrassed by this Nancy Pelosi butt kissing clown.

Maybe the people of Pennsylvania thought Obama was elitist, maybe not, but what is certain is that Jack Murtha needs to be handed his walking papers. His words and actions in congress inspired the enemy and account for them continuing the fight longer then they might have otherwise, meaning he caused the deaths and causalities of more service members.

So from a guy in Georgia to the folks in Pennsylvania in this congressional district, please send Murtha packing to the old folks home he has earned. Hell it probably even has his name on it bought and paid for by the US taxpayers.

David Bellavia is running for congress

When I read this I got happier then I have been in the last couple of years. David Bellavia strikes me as a truly great guy and why he would want to get involved in politics is beyond me but I hope he wins. Not only that I hope he wins and he gets to look John Murtha in the eyes every day and watch him squirm.

Go here for information and if you can send him some money and support him. He just finished up the National Heroes tour with the Vets For Freedom, and he has been nominated for the Medal of Honor for his action in Fallujah.

He is the real deal and just what we need to shake up the halls of congress.
Damn David I am sorry I live in GA and can't vote for you but all you folks at FT Drum in the 10th Mountain get off your butts and help get this man in congress.

Iraq Veterans for Congress

Here are some veterans running for congress worthy of consideration.

I have pretty much given up on voting for any of the candidates for president in this year's election; however, I still feel it is important to vote for the congressional races.

The only thing that will be able to hold the executive branch in check will be the congress, and not a congress made up of Democrats who only seem interested in issuing so many statements of support for our enemies, insisting on investigations of everything from the stuffing in teddy bears to steroids instead of the actual job you were sent to do.

Here are some veterans running for congress in various districts on the Republican ticket. Some of the names may be familiar, each has their story, but more importantly, I think they have a better grasp on what is needed to address the problems this country faces in the 21st century. For those who care to look at a calender it is 2008 not 1960 and old rhetoric and solutions are not going to solve the problems of the present.

Please take a few minutes to check them out, regardless of your party persuasion and you just might find somebody who better represents you then your current congress critter. It is time to get rid of the old senior citizens roaming the halls of congress. Even if your guy is Obama, who is all about change, how you going to accomplish that if you still have the same old hard line politicians in place?

Let's throw out all of the incumbents and get people who will move us forward and quit all the whining.

If there is one thing our military has proven it is they have the ability to adapt and overcome any obstacle and that is exactly what is needed. I wish our congress was as nimble and efficient as the military.
