Legal Immigrants Fed Up With Illegal Immigrants

I wonder if the liberals can make a connection between the high unemployment rate and number of illegal aliens in the workforce? Of course their counter argument is these people are just doing the jobs regular Americans won't.

All of it is hogwash and while identifying and taking action against illegal immigrants is important, it is only one piece of the puzzle. Employers must also be targeted and I have no heartburn with that.

Evidence has come forward about contractors hiring illegal immigrants to do work at the airport expansion in Atlanta. The project is full of graft and corruption anyway because of the way contracts are awarded, but now with the revelation of the hiring of illegals apparently running amuck it is just another black eye.

“Years ago they used to check but now they don’t check anything,” Galloway said. “The federal government puts all these rules on us but when federal and state money gets on a job and they do their own building it seems like they throw their own rule book away.”

The state was made aware of this practice, liberals please sit down, by a Hispanic who was not only in this country legally, but had done all the things necessary to become an American citizen.

Alvarez, the Jobs for Georgia worker who taped the airport conversations, thinks the government should be doing more if it’s serious about enforcing immigration law and protecting legal workers’ jobs. He moved to the United States from Mexico more than 20 years ago, and he said he has watched employers push wages down and force more workers to lose their protections by hiring them as independent contractors. Employment of illegal immigrants exacerbates this practice, he said.

“I’ve been an American citizen for 10 years and before that I was a resident for 10,” Alvarez said. “I went through the process and worked hard to become a citizen and I was paying my taxes from day one.”

You see not everybody from south of the border is exactly in love with illegals taking jobs and dodging taxes either. I think liberals have a word for people like Mr Alvarez.

Texas Next for Anti-Illegals Legislation

Texas lawmaker to introduce anti-immigration bill

Nothing in the story says the proposed legislation is anti-immigration. They're opposed to illegal immigration.

A Texas lawmaker says she plans to push for a law similar to Arizona's get-tough immigration measure.

San Antonio Express-News and Houston Chronicle report Wednesday that Republican Rep. Debbie Riddle of Tomball says she will introduce the measure in the January legislative session.

The new Arizona law would require local and state law enforcement to question people about their immigration status — and make it a crime for immigrants to lack registration documents.

Riddle says if the federal government did its job "Arizona wouldn't have to take this action, and neither would Texas."

Curiously it will be a crime according to ObamaCare legislation to not have health insurance. It's illegal to drive without a license or insurance. So why are Democrats so opposed to these common-sense laws? Well, because they want to legalize all the illegals so they'll vote for them.

Let's hope this trend spreads to other border states. I have little hope for California, but maybe New Mexico can get in on the act, though that's doubtful as long as Guillermo Richardson is governor.

What will really get the ball rolling is if northern states overrun by illegals sign on.

This Is What Empathetic Judges Give You

Remember the town of Hazleton, PA? It was the town that was thrust into the center of the illegal alien debate when it passed an ordinance in 2006 that basically would fine employers who hired illegals and landlords who rented to them. The law was never enacted due to lawsuits being filed and in 2007 an empathetic judge ruled the law unconstitutional.

A U.S. District Court Judge struck down a Hazelton Pennsylvania law designed to crackdown on illegal immigration declaring it “unconstitutional”. U.S. District Judge James Munley said the city was not allowed to implement the law that would fine businesses that hire illegal immigrants and penalize landlords who rent rooms to them.

In the case of “PEDRO LOZANO Vs. the City of Hazelton” the city blamed the influx of illegal immigrants for a rise in crime and an increase in social services. Although the city passed the ordinance in July of 2006, it was not implemented because of a court injunction. On Thursday Judge Munley made that injunction permanent.

Of the 30,000 residents of Hazelton, about a third are immigrants from Central America and around a quarter of the immigrant population is believed to be undocumented.

Well flash forward to 2009 and this story coming out of Hazelton.

It didn’t take long for a group of alleged drug dealers to move into the Hazleton area after a previous group had been swept out, Pennsylvania’s chief prosecutor said on Wednesday.
State Attorney General Tom Corbett said undercover narcotics agents and Hazleton police broke up a $10.4 million cocaine trafficking ring that had been operating in the city for nearly two years.

“In September 2007, we took down one of the largest cocaine trafficking rings in Hazleton as part of Operation Boomerang,” Corbett said during a Wednesday afternoon news conference in Plains Township. “Less than two years later, we are here again arresting a new set of drug dealers who thought they could simply step in and continue what the previous group had started.”

Several illegal immigrants were among those arrested on Tuesday, Corbett said.

Aren't you glad that a smart empathetic Latina woman is going to be sitting on the highest court in the land. Well at least it is the highest court in America for the time being, I am sure soon we will be answering to the World Court.

EU Passes Anti-Illegal Alien Measures

Of course, the New York Times doesn't call them illegal aliens. That would clearly be a violation of their style guide. Instead they're undocumented migrants. But the interesting story here is how the high-minded European Union is cracking down on illegals, plans to put them in detention centers and ban them from entering the EU for five years thereafter. Yet nowhere in the story do we see the terms harsh, mean-spirited or racist, which surely we'd see if, say, Republicans tried to do the same thing here.

The passage of this measure could not have come at a more opportune time to expose Europe’s hypocrisy. Just last week, the U.S. Supreme Court ruled that enemy combatants captured on foreign soil have habeus corpus rights. The decision was predictably applauded by Europe’s chattering class, to whom, we are endlessly lectured, Guantanamo represents a “stain” on our national reputation.

Who said illegal aliens should get driver's licenses? Apparently the illegals don't even need a valid license to drive a school bus in Minnesota.

A woman who authorities say is in the country illegally and using an alias was charged Friday with four counts of criminal vehicular homicide and two lesser charges in a school bus crash that killed four children.

A woman who identified herself as Alianiss Nunez Morales, 23, of Minneota, was driving a van that failed to stop at a stop sign Tuesday before hitting a bus carrying 28 students from Lakeview School, Lyon County Attorney Richard Maes said. The accident happened near the small town of Cottonwood, in southwestern Minnesota.

Morales was also charged with a stop sign violation and for driving without a valid license, Maes said.

Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents are trying to figure out the woman's true identity. Claude Arnold, ICE special agent in charge of investigations, said his agency believes Morales is an illegal immigrant. ICE has filed paperwork to detain her for deportation proceedings after the criminal case is resolved.

"The only name we have for her is the name she gave us when she was booked," Arnold said, adding that the woman told authorities she was from Mexico.

Arnold said ICE would continue to investigate her identity.

"We're going to do everything in our power and authority to ensure justice is served in this case," he said.

Morales does not have a Minnesota driver's license, and "she doesn't have a (driver's license) anywhere that we're aware of," said Lt. Mark Peterson of the Minnesota State Patrol.

According to the criminal complaint filed Friday, Morales used an interpreter to tell police that she stopped at the stop sign.

"She stated that she stopped for the stop sign and that when she took off, the bus hit her," according to a statement of probable cause.

Morales also told police she was driving to Norcraft Cabinetry, where she had been working for a month, and that it was her first time on County Road 24.

The bus driver and at least one motorist said Morales did not stop at the stop sign, court documents said. The bus driver, Dennis Devereaux, told police it appeared the van wasn't going to stop, and "he did not have time to hit the brakes or accelerate."

The criminal vehicular homicide charges are felonies, each punishable by up to 10 years in prison and a $20,000 fine. The other charges are misdemeanors.

Dean Panders to Illegals, Cracks Osama Jokes

The Chairman of the Democrat Party cracks jokes about Osama bin Laden while pandering to illegals in Florida.

Really cute.

Democratic Party Chairman Howard Dean told immigrant supporters in Miami that a reform bill currently before Congress was "insane" because it would require many illegal immigrants to return home before applying for citizenship.

"This is a government that can't find a 6-foot-4 terrorist. How is it going to find 12 million people?" he told a group of more than 100 party supporters at Miami's Parrot Jungle Island.

Of course, nobody bothers to point out to Dean that indeed bin Laden was found, but the former President back in 1996 refused to take him when offered by the Sudan.

What a jerk.
