Not quite Bob Herbert levels of stupidity, but dumb enough to warrant notice. A lot of good it did McCain to defend Kerry from the "attacks" (read: truth) from the Swift Boat Veterans for Truth back in 2004.
The setting was a moonbat serenade in Boston for Barack Obama's birthday, tied in naturally to a fat cat fundraiser.
For his part, Kerry was deeply critical of presumptive Republican nominee John McCain. "He doesn't get it," Kerry said. "He's even dangerous, I think, for the direction of this country."A neophyte Chicago politician surrounded by suspicious characters the past 20 years apparently makes John Kerry comfortable. Is there any question calling Obama dangerous would be quickly interpreted as racist code?
Let's face it. Kerry just can's stomach the fact a genuine war hero with a much better-looking sugar mama has a much better chance of ever occupying the White House.
The latest poll numbers in Massachusetts must have Lurch jittery.
A new 7 News/Suffolk University poll shows McCain closing the gap in Massachusetts, as he appears to be nationally.A Democrat should normally be up 25 to 30 points in Massachusetts at this point.
While the Bay State is reliably Democratic, Obama leads McCain 47 percent to 38 percent, down from a 23-percentage-point lead last month. The survey, conducted Thursday-Sunday, showed 13 percent undecided and has a margin of error of plus or minus 4.9 percentage points.
Dirty little secret: A lot of Democrat Clinton supporters in Massachusetts won't be voting for Obama and find McCain a palatable Republican alternative.
