The Chavez Plan to Destroy Venezuela

Hugo Chavez has detailed his plan for the economic destruction of
Venezuela. Of course, this is exactly the kind of Marxist stuff that the
socialists/communists in the mainstream media, the left wing blogs and upper education will lap up with glee.

Venezuela's Chavez calls for end to term limits
CARACAS (Reuters) - Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez called for an end to presidential term limits on Wednesday to extend his rule and consolidate a self-styled socialist revolution in the OPEC nation."
So, step one in the Marxist handbook is appoint yourself leader for life. Next:
"The leftist former soldier also proposed eliminating central bank autonomy, strengthening state expropriation powers and giving himself control over international reserves as part of an overhaul of Venezuela's constitution.
Step two, take over the banks and the money assets. Next:
In his lengthy speech to a loyal Congress that stretched until midnight, Chavez said the government should be able to control assets of private companies before winning court expropriation rulings.
Step three, take over the means of production and all private property. Next:
He also said from eight hours per day, and proposed providing social security benefits to informal workers like cab drivers and street vendors as part of his campaign to instill "21st Century Socialism.
Step 4, make sure the population is totally dependent on the government for their survival. Chavez is very clear about his intentions.
As of today the debate over the reform ... should take the streets," Chavez said. "Now we are headed straight toward socialism."
The 6 hour work day proposal is classic Marxism and very destructive economically. The key to growing a country and having an increasing standard of living is increasing the productivity of your work force, so their skills are worth more in the market. If you decrease the work day from 8 hours to 6 that is a reduction in labor provided of 25%. Since I doubt they are willing to take a 25% pay cut, you will need to see a 25% increase in output per hour to just break even with the work hours change.

Since that is not going to happen, what you have is a formula for disaster.

I expect Chavez's proposals to go over big with the socialists in the MSM and the left. Don't be surprised to hear some of this nonsense being adopted by the Democrats in the coming election.
