In Fernley, Nevada.
I don't think this one is Bush's fault.
FERNLEY, Nev. -- A canal breach on the eastern side of the Sierra has trapped about 3,500 people and left hundreds of homes in 3 feet of water, a Nevada state trooper said. The Goracle was unavailable for comment.
Crews in Nevada's Lyon County were using helicopters and school buses to rescue residents isolated by flooding. There was no other way to get out, Fernley resident Allison Weaver said.
A 30-foot wide section of the canal broke shortly before 5 a.m., officials said, pouring 3 feet of freezing water into about 800 homes in the desert town of a housing development.
Many of the homes are newly built, Weaver said.
Bulldozers were being brought in to shore up the levee, said Chuck Allen of the Nevada Department of Public Safety.
