Naturally, the left and their media handmaidens are going to have a field day with this.
The United States is guilty of "persistent and systematic" racial discrimination across all aspects of society from Guantanamo Bay to the justice and school systems, rights groups charged on Wednesday. What happened to innocent until proven guilty?
"The persistent and systematic issues of racial discrimination have not been addressed" by the US government despite its adoption in 1994 of the UN Convention on the Elimination of all forms of Racial Discrimination, said Ajamu Baraka, executive director of the US Human Rights Network.Read the rest.
"Unfortunately since 1994 we have found that the government has not lived up to its obligations," Baraka told journalists, citing issues such as the impact of Hurricane Katrina on the black population of New Orleans, the treatment of immigrant workers, police brutality and housing.
"These issues have escaped the scrutiny" by government officials that they deserve, he said.
Baraka just happens to be on the board of the National Coalition to Repeal the Patriot Act, along with Dennis Kucinich, among other luminaries.
Among Kucinich's fellow NCRPA Board members were Ajamu Baraka of Amnesty International; former Black Panther and New York City Councilman Charles Barron; Mitchel Cohen of the Green Party USA; the Reverend Herbert Daughtry of the Martin Luther King, Jr. Peace Now Committee; Primella Dixit of the Women's International League for Peace and Freedom; Rani Elizar of Atlanta Palestine Solidarity; Akeel Hanano of the American Arab Anti-Discrimination Committee of Georgia; Robert Knight of WBAI radio; former U.S. Representative Cynthia McKinney; Josh Ruebner of Jews for Peace in Palestine and Israel; and radical attorney Lynne Stewart of the pro-Communist National Lawyers Guild. Here's some video of this moron Baraka in action.
