Today's indicted Democrat state lawmaker

It seems like every day now a Democrat lawmaker down on the state level is getting indicted for something. Here is today's indictment. In the state of Louisiana. If they could just make it to the national like William Jefferson they would have it made.
Louisiana state Sen. Derrick Shepherd was indicted Thursday on federal mail fraud charges for allegedly helping to launder $2 million.

The 41-count indictment also named Gwendolyn Joseph Moyo, a convicted construction bond broker; James Zoucha, allegedly her straw man; and two Nevada corporations that handled her business after she was barred from writing bonds, the New Orleans Times-Picayune reported.

And of course in keeping with the journalistic style book his party is mentioned in the last paragraph in a nifty way.
had been considered a rising star in Democratic politics in Louisiana.
