Heh. The greedy bastards would rather see the entire economy collapse rather than give up a nickel.
Somehow Republicans will be blamed.
A $14 billion emergency bailout for U.S. automakers has collapsed in the Senate after the United Auto Workers refused to accede to Republican demands for swift wage cuts. Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid said he was "terribly disappointed" about the demise of an emerging bipartisan deal to rescue Detroit's Big Three. It's quite obvious we have a failure to communicate. We either capitulate to the Democrats and their union goons or somehow we communicate the facts.
It was a dead heat. General Motors sold 9.37 million vehicles worldwide in 2007 and lost $38.7 billion. Toyota sold 9.37 million vehicles in 2007 and made $17.1 billion.Maybe the pinheads in Washington ought to pay a visit to Toyota headquarters. You would think a margin of $55.8 billion would mean something. But the Democrats can't do that since they're owned by the unions.
That was the second-best sales total in GM's 100-year history and the biggest loss ever for any automaker in the world.
For Toyota, that was roughly $1,800 in profit for every vehicle sold. For GM, it was an average loss of $4,100 for every vehicle sold.
