Welcome to Bermuda

Really makes you want to pay a visit. The locals must be thrilled.
In a move that infuriated America's close ally Britain, four Chinese Muslim Uighurs got the ultimate upgrade in accommodations yesterday -- ditching their Guantanamo Bay prison cells and landing in Bermuda.

The Uighurs -- who were picked up in Afghanistan after the US invasion seven years ago but were later found not to be "enemy combatants" -- were welcomed to the Atlantic vacation island with open arms by Bermudan Premier Ewart Brown yesterday, and can now trade in their orange jumpsuits for Bermuda shorts.

Brown said he decided to accept the Uighurs "in keeping with the 400 years of friendship between our countries [the United States and Bermuda] and in response to the president's call for international help in this area."
