Good News: Al Sharpton to Make Haiti Relief Trip All About Al Sharpton

You expect anything less? While the world rushes to aid the poor folks down there, the rotund "Reverend" plans a special choreographed weeklong effort to highlight Al Sharpton. Hey, the man's got his priorities.
The Rev. Al Sharpton will celebrate the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr.'s birthday with a mercy mission to Haiti.

"There will be no better way to say happy birthday to Martin Luther King," Sharpton told people gathered at a vigil at the Haitian Consulate in Manhattan on Wednesday. "We all have some Haitian in us, and we stand in solidarity with the Haitian people until Haiti is restored."

Sharpton said he plans to leave Friday, the actual date of King's birth, for Atlanta with a delegation of lawmakers and clergy.

After a sermon at the Ebenezer Baptist Church, where King preached, the group will fly to Haiti - where rapper Wyclef Jean is sizing up the situation.
If he actually gave a rat's ass about these people he'd already be there helping dig people out. Guess he needs to wait until all the media is assembled so he can have his photo ops. I don't recall any of Sharpton's previous "mercy missions" to Haiti. He must figure now's the best time to glom some publicity.

Previously, the only interest Sharpton ever had in Haiti was propping up deposed Communist Jean-Bertand Aristede.

I eagerly await his press conference from Haiti where he trashes America and tells us we're not helping enough.

Here's a thought: Maybe his good pal Harry Reid can accompany him.
