'Arabic or Latino Looking Man' Bought Times Square SUV, Media Hardest Hit

So the owner of this SUV apparently sold it via Craigslist to an "Arabic or Latino looking man" and there's no paper trail? Very weird. But as I just watched the top of the local ABC News here in New York, no mention of anyone "Arabic or Latino looking," unlike the past 24 hours when we were treated to an orgy or stories about the dreaded bald white guy on the surveillance video who may or may not be a suspect.
Attorney General Eric Holder said today the investigators had made "substantial progress" in tracking the man who drove a Nissan Pathfinder into New York's Times Square with a crude bomb that failed to detonate.

Officials declined to provide the specifics that led them to believe there were overseas links to a larger plot.

The Washington Post, quoting Obama Administration sources, said the attempted bombing "increasingly appears to have been coordinated by several people in a plot with international links."

Other law enforcement officials said the investigation was closing in on the driver of the vehicle and an unknown number of others connected to him.

"This is moving very fast because they left behind a treasure trove of evidence in the unexploded car," one US official told ABC News.

Officials told ABC News Senior Justice correspondent Pierre Thomas that the Connecticut owner of the vehicle told them he had sold the Nissan SUV last month in an unrecorded sale to an "Arabic or Latino looking man" in his 20's or 30's, for a few hundred dollars in cash.

The license plate on the car was apparently stolen from an auto repair shop outside Bridgeport, Connecticut, according to law enforcement officials.

The authorities told ABC News that the previous owner provided a description of the man who bought the car, and told investigators the vehicle was sold for several hundred dollars in cash, with no written records identifying the purchaser.
Anyway, in this day and age, who just sells a vehicle on Craigslist with no questions asked to "Middle Eastern" men?
Sources tell CBS News the last registered owner of the 1993 Nissan Pathfinder - found in Times Square Saturday night - told authorities he recently sold the vehicle to a "Middle Eastern" or "Hispanic" looking man for $1,300 cash in $100 bills on Craigslist.

Authorities interviewed the Pathfinder's registered owner Sunday night, but say he is not a suspect in the case.

The vehicle identification number on the Pathfinder had been removed from the dashboard, but it was stamped on the engine and axle. Its license plates came from a car found in a Connecticut repair shop.
The previous owner should be charged with felony stupidity. You sell a vehicle to strangers and leave it registered in your name?

Not just the media that will be crushed to see another "terrorist Tea Party" meme go by the wayside, idiotic Hollyweird types will be crestfallen.
thing to pay attention is whether the luntatic at times square was a home grown anti federal fox new crazie or from abroad---

Meanwhile, the mystery SUV purchaser appeares to be on the lam.
A Connecticut man was being sought Monday in the failed plot to blow up a bomb-laden SUV in Times Square, sources said.

This "person of interest" bought the 1993 Nissan Pathfinder that was abandoned with the engine running - and with primitive, but potentially deadly payload in the rear - just two weeks ago, law enforcement and police sources told The Daily News.

Investigators aren't certain whether he is the same man who drove the rolling bomb to the Crossroads of the World, but he has not been seen by his girlfriend - and has not shown up at his home or job - since the frightening incident on Saturday night.

Detectives from the NYPD and FBI identified the SUV owner after tracking down the registration of the previous owner, who told investigators he'd sold the vehicle.

The mystery man met the seller through craigslist.com and paid $1,800 cash for the Pathfinder, the Daily News has learned.
