Nice little zinger on Alex Rodriguez from author Gay Talese. What's also amusing is the New York paparazzi apparently is more interested in snagging photos of the Yankee third baseman and his latest paramour than they are with the clown VPOTUS.

Cameron Diaz met Alex Rodriguez at Serafina on East 61st Street yesterday. But after she left alone -- to try to prevent paparazzi from getting a shot of the couple together -- Gay Talese emerged. Asked by the paps about A-Rod's whereabouts, the author quipped, "He's probably with some blonde in the bathroom."

Meanwhile, Secret Service agents closing the street for the arrival of VP Joe Biden at the nearby Regency Hotel were unhappy to find the lensmen in wait. Our spy said, "The agents asked them to move. It was comical to see the cameramen didn't care about the vice president -- they wanted A-Rod."
