Well, at Least He Didn't Call Anyone a Negro

Sure looks like the new book Game Change has taken the blogosphere by storm today, with the biggest story being Dingy Harry referring to Barack Obama in politically incorrect terms, to put it kindly. But's it's OK that Harry Reid's a racist. He's a Democrat and he and his Senate mates have a long history of racial insensitivity (see Byrd, Robert).

Here in the New York area we now have that two-faced buzzard Chuckie Schumer scurrying for cover tonight after it was revealed in the book he'd made overtures to Obama and was playing both sides leading up to the 2008 primaries.

Sen. Charles Schumer played both sides of the fence in the lead up to the 2008 presidential primaries -- actively recruiting Barack Obama to run as an alternative to Hillary Clinton even as he signaled that "home-state decorum" would prohibit him from publicly opposing his fellow senator if she decided to run, an explosive new book claims.

And Clinton had no idea that Schumer and her other Senate colleagues were actively plotting her downfall -- learning months later, when it hit her like a ton of bricks, according to Game Change: Obama and the Clintons, McCain and Palin, and the Race of a Lifetime, an inside dish on the 2008 race by Mark Halperin and John Heilemann.

Schumer, who'd climb over his mother to get in front of a TV camera, naturally sent some spokesthing out to play CYA.

Way to man up, Chuckles.

Schumer's people vehemently denied the book's claims today.

"This is ridiculous. Senator Schumer did have conversations with then-Senator Obama long before Senator Clinton announced and told him he would be a good candidate. But he told Senator Obama at the time, should Clinton announce, which was expected, that he would fully back her. From the day she announced to the day she withdrew, he was a full and complete supporter of then-Senator Clinton and gave no help to the Obama campaign," said Schumer spokesman Josh Vlasto.

Why don't I believe him? Well, other than the fact these people never tell the truth?

As to Harry Reid, his already dim future has become a lot bleaker even before his dark, racist past came to light. You suppose Rush Limbaugh is going to have a little fun with him come Monday?

"I deeply regret using such a poor choice of words," Reid said in a statement. "I sincerely apologize for offending any and all Americans, especially African-Americans for my improper comments."

The classy thing to do would step down as Majority Leader. Ask Trent Lott about that.

Ironically, just the other day people were complaining about the use of the word Negro on the census form. Now we see a high-ranking Democrat using the term and nobody much seems to mind any more.

Aren't double standards wonderful?

Child Molester Reacts in Horror to 'Barack the Magic Negro'

Now that the Paul Shanklin song parody Barack the Magic Negro has been dredged up for the 37th time and the nation reacts in feigned horror, none other than Peter Yarrow, author of the original song has crawled out from under his rock.

The sending of a Christmas greeting by Chip Saltsman to the members of the Republican National Committee that includes a recording of the so-called parody, "Barack the Magic Negro" is not only offensive, it is shocking and saddening in the extreme. It flies in the face of America's deeply held hope for a new era in which common ground and mutual respect characterize the exchanges between our national leaders.

I and my co-writer of "Puff," Lenny Lipton, have been eagerly awaiting an end to the mean-spiritedness, outright disrespect and bigotry that was commonplace prior to this last presidential election. What might have been wearily accepted as "the way it was" in the campaign, is now unacceptable. Obama is not a candidate. He is the President-Elect, and this song insults the office of the Presidency, the people who voted for him, as well as those who did not -- and taking a children's song and twisting it in such vulgar, mean-spirited way, is a slur to our entire country and our common agreement to move beyond racism.

Dude, get over yourself. Have you even heard the song parody in context?

I have more of an issue with child molesters than I do with people who makes song parodies.

The folksinger pleaded guilty to taking "immoral and improper liberties" with a 14-year-old girl back in 1970.

As reported at the time, the girl and her 17-year-old sister went to Yarrow's hotel room seeking an autograph. Yarrow answered the door naked and made sexual advances that stopped short of intercourse. The 14-year-old resisted his advances but did not call for help. Yarrow served three months of a one- to three-year prison sentence and was pardoned by Carter in 1981.

The singer has acknowledged the incident as "the most terrible mistake I have ever made."

Molesting 14-year-olds apparently doesn't rise to the horrific levels of outrage as comedy does. Does this idiot even realize the parody is nearly two years old?
