Geez, most of America has forgotten about this tool Weiner already. I guess it takes these guys so much time to get their special "magazine" together that jokes quickly grow stale. Probably a lot of workplace accidents or something like that.

Even terrorists are making Weiner jokes.

In Al Qaeda's latest edition of its chilling e-magazine, "Inspire," the terror network's Arabian Peninsula syndicate settles a score with former Queens Rep. Anthony Weiner, gloating about the sexter's salacious downfall.

A faux full-page ad in the summer issue bears a photo of a feisty Weiner speaking before the House of Representatives under the banner, "An angry Weiner head."

It goes on to quote Weiner in one of his early, deceitful explanations about how a picture of his crotch was sent to a Seattle college student.

"This was a prank to make fun of my name!" a readout next to the photo blares.

Except it wasn't a prank.

Weiner was ultimately forced to 'fess up to texting sexy pics to several women, including one nude shot apparently taken in the House gym.

Amid the mushrooming scandal, Weiner reigned his House seat and set off for counseling in hopes of saving his one-year marriage to his pregnant wife, the stunning Huma Abedin, an aide to Secretary of State Clinton.

The fake ad in the Al Qaeda mag was "brought to you by a Cold Diss."

It could actually be one of his former constituents putting this e-zine together.

The magazine's suspected publisher, former Queens resident Samir Khan, 25, apparently didn't forget what Weiner said about his boss.

Bin Laden Planned al Qaeda Name Change to Combat Image Problems

Oh well. That double-tap he got left these plans permanently on hold. Rumor has it he wanted to the change the name al Qaeda to The Democratic Party, but that might have caused a lot of confusion on the left.

As Osama bin Laden watched his terrorist organisation get picked apart, he lamented in his final writings that Al Qaeda was getting a bad reputation and needed a name change.

His group was killing too many Muslims and the West was winning the public relations fight.

Faced with this challenge, Bin Laden, who hated the United States and decried capitalism, considered a very American business strategy.

Like Blackwater, ValuJet and Philip Morris, Al Qaeda would start afresh under a new name.

The problem with the name Al Qaeda, he wrote in a letter recovered from his compound in Pakistan, was that it lacked a religious element, something to convince Muslims worldwide that they are in a holy war with America.

If Osama had just played his cards right he might've gotten that ObamaCare waiver. These folks have their priorities. Forget what intelligence we might be finding, damn, doesn't AQ have a great benefits plan?

Al-Qaida "didn't function as a traditional or typical terrorist organization did," he says. "It functioned really like a multinational. On the eve of 9/11, for example, the State Department has stated that al-Qaida had 60 offices worldwide. I mean, in essence it was a multinational."

More proof of its corporate structure: As odd as it sounds, al-Qaida had excellent HR benefits. The seized documents showed that al-Qaida paid an unusual amount of attention to its fighters and their families. Married members were allowed to have seven days of vacation for every three weeks worked. Bachelors got five days off a month.

Married members also got a salary of $108 a month. The pay was smaller for single men and larger if the fighters had more than one wife. Now that the organization has less money and is under such pressure, it is unclear whether the benefits are as generous as they used to be.

Hope they've paid up on premiums for future death benefits.

Joe Biden: Not a High-Priority al-Qaeda Target

US officials have revealed that Osama bin Laden’s diaries contain the rather startling conclusion that he didn’t think Vice President Joe Biden was worth bumping off (hat tip: a tweet from my New York colleague Jon Swaine).

According to ProPublica, the Obama administration is briefing that Barack Obama was bin Laden’s the “top target” (no surprise there) while “military chiefs like the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, the defense secretary” were also major scalps.

But Joe Biden’s scalp (hair plugs and all)? Apparently, not so much. A counterterrorism official said: “There is a note indicating that the vice president is not an important target because that position has less weight.”

To be fair, it seems that Uncle Joe was not mentioned by name and the al-Qaeda leader tied the comment to the constitutional weakness of the vice-presidency rather than the antics of the garrulous current occupant.

But one does suspect that bin Laden might have rather liked to have got Dick Cheney.

Great News: Al Qaeda Helping Themselves To Missiles in Libya

Surely President Eisenhower Obama will be addressing this disturbing development during his long-awaited, little-anticipated speech to the nation Monday night. If he evens knows about it by then.

AL-QAEDA'S offshoot in North Africa has snatched surface-to-air missiles from an arsenal in Libya during the civil strife there, Chad's President says.

Idriss Deby Itno did not say how many surface-to-air missiles were stolen, but told the African weekly Jeune Afrique that he was "100 per cent sure" of his assertion.

"The Islamists of al-Qaeda took advantage of the pillaging of arsenals in the rebel zone to acquire arms, including surface-to-air missiles, which were then smuggled into their sanctuaries in Tenere," a desert region of the Sahara that stretches from northeast Niger to western Chad, Deby said in the interview.

"This is very serious. AQIM is becoming a genuine army, the best equipped in the region," he said.

His claim was echoed by officials in other countries in the region who said that they were worried that al-Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb (AQIM) might have acquired "heavy weapons", thanks to the insurrection.

"We have sure information. We are very worried for the sub-region," a Malian security source who did not want to be named said.

AQIM originated as an armed Islamist resistance movement to the secular Algerian government.

It now operates mainly in Algeria, Mauritania, Mali and Niger, where it has attacked military targets and taken civilian hostages, particularly Europeans, some of whom it has killed.

"We have the same information," about heavy weapons, including SAM 7 missiles, a military source from Niger said.

"It is very worrying. This overarming is a real danger for the whole zone," he added

Hard-Working Pakistani Immigrant and Victim of Wave of American Islamophobia Sentenced to 86 Years

A Pakistani woman trained as a scientist in the U.S. was sentenced to 86 years in prison Thursday after she was convicted of trying to kill U.S. Army soldiers and FBI agents in Afghanistan two years ago.

Aafia Siddiqui, 38 years old, was convicted in February of grabbing a soldier's M-4 assault rifle and trying to shoot an assembled group of Federal Bureau of Investigation agents and soldiers at an Afghan police compound in July 2008.

The U.S. team had traveled to the compound in Ghazni, Afghanistan, to interview her after she taken into custody by Afghan authorities, prosecutors said. Ms. Siddiqui was found at the time with materials that included handwritten notes referring to a "mass casualty attack" in the U.S. and listed several landmark locations in New York City, prosecutors said.

Prior to her sentencing, Ms. Siddiqui again proclaimed her innocence and disputed claims by her lawyers that she has a mental illness.

The word Muslim, naturally, is omitted from the story.

Tired Old Memo: Al Qaeda Threat Overblown; Urgent New Memo: Al-Qaeda Threat More Complex

The left has been fond of telling us that al Qaeda no longer poses a threat to us and in fact just yesterday the current occupant of the White House said it was really no big deal. Just shrug it off. Besides, we don't want to fuel anti-American extremism with our behavior, as preached here.

In 2008, in his book “Leaderless Jihad,” Marc Sageman, a psychiatrist and former C.I.A. officer who has long studied terrorism networks, wrote that Al Qaeda was in decline, to be replaced by dispersed terrorists for whom it provided mostly inspiration. The new generation of extremists, he believed, would be less skilled and would likely pose less of a threat than the network responsible for the Sept. 11 attacks.

Dr. Sageman said he saw no reason to revise that judgment today. The plots of the last year should be carefully analyzed and the findings used to improve counterterrorism, not turned into fuel for thoughtless anti-Muslim panic and discrimination, he said.

“If we overreact and upset 1.5 billion Muslims,” Dr. Sageman said, referring to the global total, “then we’ll have a lot bigger problem on our hands.”

Three top Obama administration officials in the fight against terror said Wednesday that the al-Qaida threat to the United States has grown more complex in the past year and underscores the challenges of pinpointing and blocking terrorist plots.

In remarks to the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee Wednesday, Michael Leiter, director of the national counterterrorism center, said al-Qaida in Pakistan is at one of its weakest points organizationally.

Nonetheless, said Leiter, the terrorist group remains a capable and determined enemy that has proven its resilience over time.

"Groups affiliated with al-Qaida are now actively targeting the United States and looking to use Americans or Westerners who are able to remain undetected by heightened security measures," said FBI Director Robert Mueller.

Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano said al-Qaida has inspired an array of terrorist groups.

"We are all seeing more diverse activity" by a more diverse collection of groups, said Napolitano.

"The threat is still all too real," committee chairman Joe Lieberman, I-Conn., said as the start of the hearing.

If I didn't know better I'd suggest they're instilling fear int he public just six weeks before an election.

Wasn't that the mantra every election cycle during the Bush years any time terrorism was mentioned?

Dem Congressman Aided Man With Links to Al Qaeda

Democrats tend to get their panties all up in a bunch when people declare they and Islamic terrorists pose a threat to the nation. Then when one of their own is busted aiding Muslims with ties to Osama bin Laden they talk about discrimination or something.

US Rep. Gregory Meeks scolded immigration officials for questioning a Muslim scholar whose nonprofits have been linked to financing terrorism.

The Queens Democrat contacted federal agencies -- finally appealing to then-Homeland Security Secretary Michael Chertoff -- asking why Anwar Hajjaj faced "unwarranted scrutiny" when he returned to the United States from trips abroad through JFK Airport.

Meeks described Hajjaj as a "highly regarded" professor of Islamic studies who leads Friday Muslim prayers at the Capitol.

Meeks said Hajjaj was "a pioneer in distance-based learning of Islam" through the American Open University in Virginia, according to a copy of the Sept. 30, 2006, letter to Chertoff, which was obtained by The Post under a Freedom of Information Act request.

But The Post has learned Hajjaj also headed the Taibah International Aid Association, a charity that has been accused of funding Osama bin Laden and al Qaeda. The group was co-founded by Abdullah A. bin Laden, Osama bin Laden's nephew, who has been investigated for his ties to groups that have funded al Qaeda and Hamas.

Hajjaj is also director of another Virginia-based nonprofit, the World Assembly of Muslim Youth International, or WAMY. It was also founded by bin Laden's nephew and said to support al Qaeda. The group's 2005 federal tax form, the most recent available, is signed by Hajjaj, who is listed as director.

Steven Emerson, executive director of the Investigative Project on Terrorism, said WAMY has been a financial and ideological supporter of Islamic terrorist organizations. A WAMY publication lists people who have attacked Israelis as "heroes of Palestine" and referred to Jews as "humanity's enemies," according to a 2003 affidavit by a customs special agent.

Both organizations are named as defendants in several ongoing civil lawsuits filed on behalf of families of 9/11 victims.

A 2004 complaint filed in one of the suits alleges that although Taibah "purports to be a humanitarian organization, the Taibah International Aid Association furthers the aims and materially supports Osama bin Laden and al Qaeda."

Hajjaj is not specifically named as a defendant in the suit, but the complaint does say Taibah's directors and officers, including Hajjaj, are material sponsors and co-conspirators of al Qaeda and international terrorism.

The complaint says WAMY, founded in Saudi Arabia in 1972, has been identified by the FBI as a suspected terrorist organization since 1996.

In a decision in the lawsuit made last week, US District Court Judge George Daniels refused to dismiss WAMY as a defendant, saying the allegations against the group are "sufficient to demonstrate that they are knowingly and intentionally providing material support to al Qaeda."

They knowingly have ties to al Qaeda and we have Democrat Congressmen supporting them. But don't question their patriotism or anything.

AQ Leader Charged in NYC Bomb Plot

This monster has been involved in seemingly every plot targeting New York the past couple decades so it's not as if this is shocking news. It does mean he's still out there in need of vaporizing.

Federal authorities are expected to announce criminal charges Wednesday against a senior al Qaeda leader in connection with a plot to bomb the New York City subway system last year, a person familiar with the investigation said.

Adnan G. El Shukrijumah, who remains at large, is expected to be named in a superseding indictment brought in federal court in Brooklyn in connection with the criminal case against Najibullah Zazi, the person said. The U.S. Department of Justice is expected to announce the charges out of Washington later Wednesday, the person said.

Zazi, an Afghan native who worked as an airport shuttle driver in Colorado, admitted in February that he drove to New York last September with explosives and other bomb-making materials, intending to carry out an attack on Manhattan subway lines. While in New York, Zazi said he realized he was being investigated by law enforcement and threw away the explosives. He was arrested a few days later after returning to Colorado.

As part of his plea, Zazi said he traveled to Pakistan in 2008 with the intention of joining the Taliban to fight the U.S. in Afghanistan. While in Pakistan, Zazi said he was recruited by al Qaeda and received weapons and other training there, including explosives training.

Two other men allegedly traveled with Zazi to Pakistan at the time. One of those men, Zarein Ahmedzay, pleaded guilty to conspiracy and providing material support to al Qaeda in April.

According to the new indictment, court filings and plea proceedings in the case, the plot involving Mr. Zazi was organized by Saleh al-Somali, Rashid Rauf, and Mr. Shukrijumah, who were then leaders of Qaeda’s “external operations” program dedicated to terrorist attacks in the United States and other Western countries.

The State Department offered a reward of up to $5 million several years ago for information leading directly to the capture of Mr. Shukrijumah, but he has managed to elude the authorities since the F.B.I. issued an alert for him in 2003.

He was identified as a senior terrorism figure by Khalid Shaikh Mohammed during his intensive interrogation, and officials have said that concern about him as a threat grew with the discovery that he had received flight training in the United States about the same time as the 9/11 hijackers. A bulletin warning that he might try to cross American borders with a Saudi, Canadian or Trinidadian passport was issued in 2003.

Because Mr. Shukrijumah spent so much time in the United States, his familiarity with the language and culture, and thus his ability to move freely, made him the focus of intense concern.

His time in Brooklyn in the late 1980s and early ’90s put him close to the heart of radical Islamic extremism in the United States. At the time, his father, Gulshair el-Shukrijumah, reportedly did translation work for Omar Abdel Rahman, the blind cleric who was linked to the 1993 bombing of the World Trade Center.

'Make a Bomb in the Kitchen of Your Mom'

Al-Qaida launched its first online propaganda magazine in English on Tuesday, a move that could help the terror group recruit inside the U.S. and Europe.

The magazine, called Inspire, is being run by al-Qaida's branch in Yemen, which has been linked to the failed Christmas Day bombing attempt of a U.S.-bound airliner.

The launch suggests that, as al-Qaida's core has been weakened by CIA drone airstrikes, the group hopes to broaden its reach inside the U.S., where officials have seen a spate of homegrown terrorists.

"This new magazine is clearly intended for the aspiring jihadist in the U.S. or U.K. who may be the next Fort Hood murderer or Times Square bomber," Bruce Riedel, a Brookings Institution scholar and former CIA officer, said.

Tuesday's launch did not go smoothly. The magazine was 67 pages long, but all but the first three pages were just garbled computer code, according to SITE Intelligence Group, which monitors jihadist websites and obtained a copy of the magazine.

The table of contents included articles such as "Make a Bomb in the Kitchen of Your Mom," which promised to be "a detailed yet short, easy-to-read manual on how to make a bomb using ingredients found in a kitchen."

"We also call upon and encourage our readers to contribute by sending their articles, comments or suggestions to us," the magazine's introduction read.

Osama Bin Laden's ex-bodyguard is threatening to boycott his own trial if he has to get a cavity search every time he comes to court.

Al Qaeda operative Ahmed Khalfan Ghailani's lawyers say he has posttraumatic stress disorder because of how he was treated while in CIA custody.

And being stripped brings brings back "vivid memories of the interrogation process that he endured, as well as a real fear that further maltreatment will occur in the present setting," the lawyers argued in court papers.

Ghailani - charged with two East African embassy bombings in 1998 - freaked out last November when he was forced to get naked before a court hearing so officers at the Manhattan federal lockup could visually inspect his rear end.

He told his lawyers he would "no longer voluntarily appear in court" unless the feds promise he won't be "humiliated" again, they wrote.

Ghailani was caught in Pakistan six years after the bombings that killed 200 people, and was held for almost five years in secret CIA prisons before being moved to Guantanamo Bay.

He was transferred to Manhattan last year to stand trial in civilian court.

Of course, our fearless Attorney General will probably use this trial as evidence to support his insane desire to bring the 9/11 monsters to trial in Manhattan.

'I Believe That Real Enemies of This Country are the Ones Who Destroy From Within'

An al Qaeda-controlled city cabby who became a subway bomb plotter went on a tirade of hate yesterday, blaming "Zionist Jews" for "destroying this country from within" during his guilty plea in Brooklyn federal court.

"I believe that real enemies of this country are the ones who destroy from within," railed Zarein Ahmedzay, sporting a short black beard and wrinkled blue prison scrubs over a long-sleeve shirt. "And I believe these are the special group, the Zionist Jews, I believe, who want a permanent shadow government within . . . the United States."

The 25-year-old Queens College dropout chillingly quoted a jihadist call to arms before telling the court how he and his al Qaeda-trained cohorts planned to carry out devastating, simultaneous suicide bombings on Manhattan subway trains.

"Verily, Allah has purchased of the believers their lives and their wealth for the price of paradise, to fight in the way of Allah, to kill and get killed. It is the promise binding him on the truth the Torah, gospel and the Koran," he said.

Ahmedzay was charged with receiving training from terrorist operatives overseas in August 2008, then returning to the United States with cohort Najibullah Zazi -- the main American mastermind who has already pleaded guilty -- as well as an unnamed third person. That man is presumed to be co-defendant Adis Medunjanin.

The three, pals from Flushing HS, plotted with the help of al Qaeda trainers to use homemade acetone and peroxide bombs to blow up subway cars during rush hour to maximize the carnage, the feds have charged.

"They wanted my input because I was familiar with the city -- I was a New York City taxi driver and knew the city very well," said Ahmedzay. "They said the most important thing was to hit well-known structures and to maximize the number of casualties."

Ahmedzay admitted to flying to Afghanistan in the summer of 2008 to join the Taliban to "wage jihad against the US occupation and the corrupt and imposter Karzai government, to overthrow it, and establish the perfect justice of Allah."

But terrorist leaders there "said we would be more useful to them and to the jihad if we returned to New York and conducted operations there," according to Ahmedzay.

Boy, he's really ggoing to find a lot of enemies come May 20.

Smoking Qatari Was Heading to See Al Qaeda Prisoner

He probably just wanted to share a funny story with his buddy from Al Qaeda. Nothing to see here, move along.

A Qatari diplomat was on his way to meet an imprisoned Al Qaeda agent when he touched off a bomb scare by slipping into an airline bathroom for a smoke, officials said Thursday as they announced plans to send the diplomat home.

A State Department official and another person close to the matter say Mohammed Al-Madadi was going to meet Ali Al-Marri in prison. Consular officials frequently visit foreigners held in the United States to make sure they are being treated well.

Al-Marri, a citizen of Qatar, is serving eight years in prison after pleading guilty last year to conspiring to support terrorism. He was arrested after the Sept. 11, 2001 terrorist attacks, accusing him of being a sleeper agent researching poisonous gases and plotting a cyberattack.

The visit with such a high-profile prisoner suggests that Al-Madadi would have been very aware of terrorism concerns when he sneaked into the plane's bathroom for a smoke and, according to authorities, joked about lighting his shoe on fire.

Interestingly enough, al-Marri was the subject of one of Barack Obama's first official acts as president. He's got dual citizenship in Qatar and Saudi Arabia and was a legal resident of the United States on 9/11.

Al-Marri, a legal U.S. resident and native of Qatar, was arrested in late 2001 while studying at Bradley University after federal authorities alleged he was tied to organizers of the 2001 attacks. The Bush administration declared al-Marri an "enemy combatant" in late 2001 and held him without charges for more than five years at a Navy jail in South Carolina.

The designation was dropped when he was indicted by a federal grand jury in Illinois. Al-Marri got a bachelor's degree in business management administration from Bradley in 1991, then went to work for a bank in Qatar.

The government said he met with Usama bin Laden in the summer of 2001 and was sent to the U.S. to help Al Qaeda operatives carry out post-Sept. 11, 2001, attacks. Al-Marri obtained a student visa and returned to the U.S. the day before terrorists crashed two hijacked planes into the World Trade Center and the Pentagon.

Chicago Cabbie Linked to al Qaeda

Federal authorities say they've unearthed a Chicago taxi driver's plot to send money to al-Qaida as part of an undercover investigation that involved secretly recording the man in his own cab as recently as two weeks ago.

Raja Lahrasib Khan, a taxi driver who claimed he had ties to Ilyas Kashmiri, an alleged terrorist leader in Pakistan, was arrested Friday.

Khan, 56, a Pakistan native, also allegedly discussed with an associate attacking a stadium in the United States this summer.

Authorities said, though, that there was no imminent danger.

The greatest danger these days, of course, is outraged teabaggers and their "wave" of violence against Democrats.

On March 11, Khan allegedly told an associate that in August, bags containing remote-controlled bombs could be put in several locations at a "large stadium" and then "boom, boom, boom, boom," according to court records.

Authorities say that March 17, Khan accepted $1,000 from an undercover FBI agent who had met with Khan five times. All of the meetings were audio recorded and one was video recorded, according to the charges. The agent posed as someone wanting to send money to a terror leader through Khan, officials say.

Khan was arrested Friday morning by the FBI's Joint Terrorism Task Force while he was working in downtown Chicago.

He was held without bond Friday after he was charged with two counts of attempting to provide material support to a foreign terrorist organization, for allegedly trying to send money overseas to al-Qaida. He was held after federal prosecutors said he was a danger to the community and a flight risk.

He became a naturalized U.S. citizen in 1988.

In the charging documents, authorities say Khan "learned that Kashmiri was working with al-Qaida and that Kashmiri was purportedly receiving orders from al-Qaida's leader, Osama bin Laden."

On the upside, he has no known ties to tea party activists so move along, nothing much to see here.

Al Qaeda Claims Responsibility for Rocket Attack on Israel

Someone remind me why Hillary Clinton says the Palestinians are our partners in peace? They have a strange way of showing their commitment to the "peace process" with Al Qaeda firing rockets into Israel from Gaza.

AN al-Qaeda-inspired militant group, the Ansar al Sunna Brigade, claimed responsibility today for firing a rocket from the Gaza Strip into southern Israel, killing one man.

"This jihadi attack is an answer to Zionist aggression against the Al Aqsa Mosque and holy sites and our people in Jerusalem," the group said in a statement.

An Israeli army spokeswoman confirmed that a rocket slammed into the Netiv Ha'assera kibbutz, a few kilometres from the Gaza border, and killed a foreign worker, adding that it was the third rocket fired at Israel from Gaza since yesterday evening. Local media reports said the man was Thai.

Britain is facing a new Al Qaeda terror threat from suicide ‘body bombers’ with explosives surgically inserted inside them.

Until now, terrorists have attacked airlines, Underground trains and buses by secreting bombs in bags, shoes or underwear to avoid detection.

But an operation by MI5 has uncovered evidence that Al Qaeda is planning a new stage in its terror campaign by inserting ‘surgical bombs’ inside people for the first time.

Security services believe the move has been prompted by the recent introduction at airports of body scanners, which are designed to catch terrorists before they board flights.

It is understood MI5 became aware of the threat after observing increasingly vocal internet ‘chatter’ on Arab websites this year.

The warning comes in the wake of the failed attempt by London-educated Nigerian Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab to blow up an airliner approaching Detroit on Christmas Day.
One security source said: ‘If the terrorists are talking about this, we need to be ready and do all we can to counter the threat.’

A leading source added that male bombers would have the explosive secreted near their appendix or in their buttocks, while females would have the material placed inside their breasts in the same way as figure-enhancing implants.

Experts said the explosive PETN (Pentaerythritol Tetranitrate) would be placed in a plastic sachet inside the bomber’s body before the wound was stitched up like a normal operation incision and allowed to heal.

A shaped charge of 8oz of PETN can penetrate five inches of armour and would easily blow a large hole in an airliner.

Security sources said the explosives would be detonated by the bomber using a hypodermic syringe to inject TATP (Triacetone Triperoxide) through their skin into the explosives sachet.

Yemen President Wants 'Dialogue' With Al Qaeda

This guy sound like a liberal Democrat. Gee, if we're just nice to them they'll lay down their arms and we'll all get along. What could possibly go wrong?

Yemen's president Ali Abdullah Saleh said he is open to dialogue with Al-Qaeda militants, as a top official warned that dozens of foreign jihadists are grouping in a remote part of the impoverished country.

"If Al-Qaeda (militants) lay down their arms, renounce violence and terrorism and return to wisdom, we are prepared to deal with them," Saleh told Abu Dhabi TV in an interview carried by Yemen's Saba news agency on Sunday.

"We are prepared to deal with anyone who renounces violence and terrorism," he said.

Is there anyone on the planet who really believes Al Qaeda wants to "get along" and renounce violence?

Washington has urged Yemen to crack down on Al-Qaeda after the local franchise of Osama bin Laden's network said it was behind a Christmas Day botched bombing on board a US airliner.

Saleh, whose country is also facing a Shiite rebellion in the north and a movement for autonomy in the south, stressed the government will crack down heavily on those who resort to violence.

"They are a threat not only to Yemen but also to international peace and security, particularly Al-Qaeda. They are ignorants, drug dealers and illiterate. They have no relation with Islam," he said

Uh, so why the desire for "dialogue"?

Saleh can be guaranteed of one thing: If he has any "dialogue" with Al Qaeda he'll be signing his own death warrant.

Al Qaeda thugs and drug-dealing Colombian guerillas have formed “an unholy alliance” to traffic cocaine through Africa into Europe, a Drug Enforcement Administration official said.

In an alarming move, the Revolutionary Armed forces of Colombia, or FARC, have enlisted the aid of Muslim terrorists - including Al Qaeda – to smuggle cocaine through increasingly unstable West Africa, as European countries have become more adept at intercepting and disrupting smuggling operations through their ports.

"In the mid- to late-1990s when the Europeans became better at maritime interdiction, off the coasts of Portugal and Spain for example, traffickers started moving their routes southward. So the next progression was to Western Africa," Jay Bergman, the DEA director for the Andean region of South America, told Reuters.

"As suggested by the recent arrest of three alleged Al Qaeda operatives, the expansion of cocaine trafficking through West Africa has provided the venue for an unholy alliance between South American narco-terrorists and Islamic extremists," he said.

The three alleged Qaeda henchmen were arrested in December after plotting to smuggle drugs to raise money for jihad.

One of the suspects was caught bragging on tape that "without him, [Al Qaeda] could not eat."

The three were brought from Africa to New York where they were charged with terrorism-related offenses.

In addition to the Colombian cartels using Africa to reach Europe, Mexican drug gangs are using the same routes to ship raw ingredients for producing methamphetamine.

Airplanes have become the preferred means of trans-continental drug-schlepping, Bergman told Reuters -- with Venezuela emerging as the preferred springboard for these 21st century cocaine cowboys.

US authorities have known for months that the al Qaeda-linked Nigerian who tried to blow up a passenger jet before it landed in Detroit had terrorist ties -- and his own father even alerted them to his extremist behavior, it was revealed yesterday.

Recall 36 days prior to 9/11, the alleged smoking gun memo was supposed to have tipped everyone off? For that everyone from the FBI Director to Secretary of State to the President was deemed accountable.

Well, in this case we had six months warning. Why was nothing done?

Several key details came to light yesterday:

* Al Qaeda operatives in Yemen sewed into Abdulmutallab's underwear a condom filled with three ounces of a nitroglycerin-like compound after he spent a month training with the terror organization, sources told ABC News.

"One flight attendant asked him what he had had in his pocket, and he replied, 'Explosive device,' " according to the Justice Department.

* Abdulmutallab was added to the 550,000 suspects on a watch list kept by the US National Counterterrorism Center in November and had been on government radar for months. Yet there wasn't enough negative information about him to put him on the no-fly list.

* His father, Alhaji Umaru Mutallab, a prominent Nigerian banker who retired recently, reportedly contacted the US Embassy there about six months ago to inform authorities about his son's increasingly extreme behavior.

* Michigan Rep. Peter Hoekstra, the senior Republican on the House Intelligence Committee, said he believes Abdulmutallab is linked to radical US-born Yemeni cleric Anwar al-Aulaqi, a mentor to the US Army psychiatrist who gunned down 13 people at Fort Hood, Texas, last month.

* Abdulmutallab -- who boarded a flight in Nigeria to Amsterdam, and then transferred to Northwest Flight 253 to Detroit -- did not go through full-body scans at either airport, and it's unclear how he was screened as a transferring passenger in Amsterdam.

Ironic how our fearless commander-in-chief spent the day after this near man-caused disaster golfing. But we're not supposed to even notice.

In his Farenheit 9/11, filmmaker Michael Moore juxtaposes images and words of a terrorist attack in Israel with President Bush's first words about the incident, spoken to a press pool on a golf course, with him leaning casually against a tree. Today, as the nation's law enforcement agencies respond to an attempted terrorist attack on U.S. soil, as the cable news channels and news websites pull in reinforcements to cover the incident from all angles, President Obama has been silent.

In fact, he's been golfing. He received a counterterrorism briefing early this morning, Hawaii time, and moments later, left for the gym. The president's vacation activities might have become the subject of a fierce partisan fight -- but really, the only carping is coming from the usual suspects on the right.

Yeah, we're just carping.

Recall the caterwauling from the left that these terrorists are led down their path only out of despair and poverty? Well, so much for that canard.

The son of a prominent Nigerian banker, who allegedly attempted to blow up a transatlantic flight over America, was barred from returning to Britain earlier this year.

Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab, 23, graduated from a university in London last year but his visa request was refused in May when he attempted to apply for a new course at a bogus college.

Abdulmutallab, described as a devout Muslim, was charged on Saturday with trying to destroy the plane flying from Amsterdam to Detroit on Christmas Day and placing a destructive device in the plane. He had attempted to ignite explosives after shouting about Afghanistan.Bomb materials had apparently been sewn into his underwear, an authoritative American report said.

I'm surprised they even used the "M-word" in this report.

Is it just me or would Bush have been blamed has this attack been successful? Meanwhile, repatriating all those Yemenis from Club Gitmo doesn't seem like such a good idea now, does it?

Shocker: Minnesota Mosques Recruiting for Al-Qaeda

Hard to believe these devoutly religious types would be involved in terrorism, isn't it? Next thing you know we'll find out we have terror moles in the military.

Authorities unsealed terrorism-related charges Monday against eight Americans they said recruited young people to fight for an Islamist group in Somalia that is linked to Al Qaeda.

The charges said Somali-American men were promised "true brotherhood" and "fun" and were recruited in Minneapolis mosques to fight for al-Shabaab, which the U.S. accuses of being Al Qaeda's proxy.

Indictments say some attended terrorist training camps where they received instruction in firing small arms and machine guns, and indoctrination in "anti-Ethiopian, anti-American, anti-Israel and anti-Western beliefs," according to a federal affidavit.

FBI Director Robert Mueller has said the case is worrisome because it shows young men raised in the U.S. can be recruited by terrorists overseas.

I think it's time for Obama to apologize to the Muslim world for offending them with these arrests.
