Chris Christie: 'These Folks Have Not Lost Their Resolve to Want to Commit Jihad and to Hurt and Kill Americans'

Unlike the cowardly Eric Holder, New Jersey Governor Chris Christie isn't afraid to tell an obvious truth. We having enemies living among us who want us dead.
A detailed 17-page criminal complaint lays out a chilling story of two homegrown American jihadists who taught themselves to prepare for battle and steeled themselves with the teachings and videos of radical clerics who preach via the internet.

Authorities allege Alessa and Almonte trained for combat by playing paint ball, lifting weights, traveling to the Mideast and saving thousands of dollars for a second journey they hoped would end with them in the ranks of Somalia’s al Shabaab, designated by the U.S. as a terrorist group in 2008.

Alessa and Almonte, both U.S. citizens, are scheduled to appear today in federal court in Newark on charges of conspiring to commit acts of terror outside of the United States. Their plotting, officials were quick to say, is a reminder of the threat posed by would-be terrorists both at home and abroad.

"We live in difficult times. We live in times that we know — and I hope we haven’t forgotten — there are people out there who want to do harm to us," Gov. Chris Christie, a former U.S. attorney, told reporters yesterday. "It’s almost nine years since 9/11. These folks have not lost their resolve to want to commit jihad and to hurt and kill Americans."

Like the five men convicted of plotting to attack Fort Dix in 2007, Alessa and Almonte were undone after being infiltrated by an undercover operative who authorities said secretly recorded them talking about their violent aspirations. And like the Fort Dix defendants, they were allegedly inspired by the sermons of Anwar al-Awlaki, an eloquent American-born Muslim cleric who uses the Internet to recruit converts to extremism.

Is Thailand The Next Front In The Jihadi War?

Events are taking place in Thailand that very well may make it a prime target in the ongoing Jihadi Wars to be the next front. A lot of people may have heard at least a passing mention of the recent violent outbreaks between the group called the Red Shirts and the current Thai government. What has been under reported, and has slipped off the radar screen is the reporting of the Muslim surge in what the press has euphemistically called "restive southern Thailand". One needs to only put that phrase in the search engine of their choice to be greeted with a number of stories on this subject.

Here is where the two stories dove tail. The Red Shirts are primarily from the northern part of Thailand, and are the supporters of the former president of Thailand.
UDD is known for its support for the former premier Thaksin and the former two pro-Thaksin administrations led by Samak and Somchai. When the pro-Thaksin ruling People's Power Party (PPP) was dissolved by Thailand's Constitution Court in December 2008, and Abhisit Vejjajiva of the minority Democrat Party was elected prime minister later, the red-shirts turned up in force to hold rallies again.

It was not that long ago that Thaksin went to work to clamp down on the Muslim uprising in southern Thailand.
Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra’s swift response, including full-scale bilateral coordination efforts with bordering countries (Malaysia and Indonesia) amplifies the government’s precarious position of eliminating terrorism in a Muslim-dominated region. While necessary to sustain peace and order, acknowledging the presence and activity of Islamic separatists groups may prove more of a hindrance to Bangkok’s efforts, further widening the existing gap between the already discontented Muslim population and government authorities. Meanwhile, local community leaders have warned that such heavy-handed action could drive away future tourism and foreign investment opportunities to the area.

What we have here is the type of opportunity that jihadist love to exploit, and that is a weakness in the central government. In this case they have a built in enemy whom they already have grievances with, to further excuse any violent acts on their part. With the acquiescence of the western world to always try to somehow assign blame to the radical Islamists by ignoring the real reason they act they way they act, and instead try to chalk it up to economic or social ills, the jihadists are free to laugh in face of the very people they are about to target.

Of course our illustrious state department can not be bothered to take time from their international apology tour and nobody in this administration has the courage to actually confront an enemy or even take sides in a debate, unless the target is Fox News or the Tea Party, and is no doubt blithely going about it business oblivious to what is happening and instead concentrating on those radicals in Arizona.

Maybe nothing will happen. Maybe all out civil war will erupt. The worst case scenario is that the two different factions of the Thai government go at each other while the jihadist sit by moving their base of operations further northward, unnoticed and stand ready to swoop in at an opportune time. And of course taking the world by surprise, yet again.

More Islamic Candidates For Family of the Year

These contestants hail from Pakistan. She is a 13 year year old girl who shirked her duties, as desired by her brother, and refused to join her 9 year old sister in paradise. Mom is a devout "moderate" Muslim woman living up to the Muslim standards of feminism.

If the previous story of a family burying a girl alive for socializing with boys wasn't enough.

Man of Unidentified Religious Persuasion Dragged Off Flight to Detroit Screaming 'I Want to Kill All the Jews'

I'm going way out on a limb here and declaring him a Muslim. Just doing my part to help connect the dots. I realize between all of Obama's golf rounds and his counter-terror chief's skiing the two of them may not be able to make any connection.
An Ohio man who became loud and disruptive aboard a flight from Miami to Detroit -- at one point telling those around him he ``wanted to kill all the Jews'' -- was removed from the airplane before takeoff and arrested late Wednesday.

The man in custody is identified as Mansor Mohammad Asad, 43, who authorities say posed no potential security threat.

Miami-Dade police say he caused enough of a ``disturbance'' that the pilot had to return to the jet-bridge. When Asad was taken off the plane to be interviewed by police, he threatened officers, made racial comments and charged an officer, authorities said. He was Tasered twice.

Asad was charged with threats against a public servant, disorderly conduct and resisting an officer without violence to his person.

The action taken by officials on the Delta Airlines flight comes at a time of heightened security at U.S. airports following the foiled terrorist attempt by a Nigerian to blow up an airplane on Christmas Day.

FBI spokeswoman Judy Orihuela said the bureau was notified and concluded it was a local police matter. Also on Wednesday, military jets escorted a Hawaii-bound flight back to the Portland, Ore., airport due to a disruptive passenger. There was no known link to terrorism in that case, the FBI said.
Except for the possibility of a dry run, of course. But hey, we don't want to offend anyone by making such an assertion.

Naturally, the excuses have already started.
Asad's son, Mickey Asad, who was not traveling with his father, told The Miami Herald his father has bipolar disorder. He told the Associated Press the elder Asad had been in and out of mental institutions when he was younger.

``It's not what it's made out to be,'' Mickey Asad told The Herald. ``I don't know, someone had to have pushed his buttons. I don't know, I couldn't explain honestly. Of course he's not a terrorist.''
Yeah, and neither is the Ft. Hood killer.

In and out of mental institutions? Hmmm.
According to Miami-Dade police reports, here's what happened:

The plane was taxiing when a flight attendant alerted the captain of a passenger ``talking in a loud tone of voice and stating that he is Palestinian and that he wanted to kill all the Jews.''

As the flight attendant tried to give instructions before taking off, Asad, who was in seat 14-A, was loud once again. He was drinking a beer, apparently from the first class cabin where his daughter was seated.

At points Asad was speaking in a foreign language, thought to be Arabic.
Let me guess: Did he mention Allah?
He made several derogatory statements about Jews, the report said.

He was taken off the plane and searched, police said. While they tried to search him, he berated officers and made racist comments.

According to the arrest affidavit, Asad said: `` `I'm not afraid of you cops. I've gotten in fights with cops in Ohio and broke their arms in three places. I've broken skulls too!' ''

He then prayed and chanted, before telling a cop to ``Go back to Africa, you white racist cop!''

When is the 12/25 Commission Convening?

Seems to me it's fair to say we had more warning about the Holiday Christmas Bomber than we did about 9/11, don't you think?

US authorities have known for months that the al Qaeda-linked Nigerian who tried to blow up a passenger jet before it landed in Detroit had terrorist ties -- and his own father even alerted them to his extremist behavior, it was revealed yesterday.
Recall 36 days prior to 9/11, the alleged smoking gun memo was supposed to have tipped everyone off? For that everyone from the FBI Director to Secretary of State to the President was deemed accountable.

Well, in this case we had six months warning. Why was nothing done?
Several key details came to light yesterday:

* Al Qaeda operatives in Yemen sewed into Abdulmutallab's underwear a condom filled with three ounces of a nitroglycerin-like compound after he spent a month training with the terror organization, sources told ABC News.

"One flight attendant asked him what he had had in his pocket, and he replied, 'Explosive device,' " according to the Justice Department.

* Abdulmutallab was added to the 550,000 suspects on a watch list kept by the US National Counterterrorism Center in November and had been on government radar for months. Yet there wasn't enough negative information about him to put him on the no-fly list.

* His father, Alhaji Umaru Mutallab, a prominent Nigerian banker who retired recently, reportedly contacted the US Embassy there about six months ago to inform authorities about his son's increasingly extreme behavior.

* Michigan Rep. Peter Hoekstra, the senior Republican on the House Intelligence Committee, said he believes Abdulmutallab is linked to radical US-born Yemeni cleric Anwar al-Aulaqi, a mentor to the US Army psychiatrist who gunned down 13 people at Fort Hood, Texas, last month.

* Abdulmutallab -- who boarded a flight in Nigeria to Amsterdam, and then transferred to Northwest Flight 253 to Detroit -- did not go through full-body scans at either airport, and it's unclear how he was screened as a transferring passenger in Amsterdam.
Ironic how our fearless commander-in-chief spent the day after this near man-caused disaster golfing. But we're not supposed to even notice.
In his Farenheit 9/11, filmmaker Michael Moore juxtaposes images and words of a terrorist attack in Israel with President Bush's first words about the incident, spoken to a press pool on a golf course, with him leaning casually against a tree. Today, as the nation's law enforcement agencies respond to an attempted terrorist attack on U.S. soil, as the cable news channels and news websites pull in reinforcements to cover the incident from all angles, President Obama has been silent.

In fact, he's been golfing. He received a counterterrorism briefing early this morning, Hawaii time, and moments later, left for the gym. The president's vacation activities might have become the subject of a fierce partisan fight -- but really, the only carping is coming from the usual suspects on the right.
Yeah, we're just carping.

Leave poor Obama alone!

Recall the caterwauling from the left that these terrorists are led down their path only out of despair and poverty? Well, so much for that canard.
The son of a prominent Nigerian banker, who allegedly attempted to blow up a transatlantic flight over America, was barred from returning to Britain earlier this year.

Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab, 23, graduated from a university in London last year but his visa request was refused in May when he attempted to apply for a new course at a bogus college.

Abdulmutallab, described as a devout Muslim, was charged on Saturday with trying to destroy the plane flying from Amsterdam to Detroit on Christmas Day and placing a destructive device in the plane. He had attempted to ignite explosives after shouting about Afghanistan.Bomb materials had apparently been sewn into his underwear, an authoritative American report said.
I'm surprised they even used the "M-word" in this report.

Is it just me or would Bush have been blamed has this attack been successful? Meanwhile, repatriating all those Yemenis from Club Gitmo doesn't seem like such a good idea now, does it?

'Alleged' Christmas Day Terrorist is Charged

I added the quotes around alleged just for effect. Seriously, I believe it's safe to say this is the actual terrorist. But it's become so ingrained with the media to pretend to be objective with these acts of terror we're just supposed to play make believe. Search for alleged terrorist and you'll see what I mean. More here on the alleged terrorist.
The Justice Department charged the alleged Christmas Day terrorist with attempting to destroy an airplane.

The Justice Department said 23-year-old Nigerian Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab had a device containing a high explosive attached to his body. The government said that as the flight neared Detroit Metropolitan Airport on Friday, Abdulmutallab set off the device, but it sparked a fire instead of an explosion.

According to an affidavit filed in federal court in Detroit, a preliminary analysis of the device shows it contained PETN, also known as pentaerythritol.
The same substance used by "shoe bomber" Richard Reid.

If at first they don't succeed, they'll keep trying. See World Trade Center, for example. We'd rather twist ourselves into knots playing nice nice with these maniacs, hoping some day they'll love us. You know, Hopenchange and all that yummy stuff.

How's that working out?

Merry Christmas, Paki Style

When Mr. Wonderful gets back from Hawaii, maybe his Teleprompter can deliver another speech to the "Muslim world" and remind them that "tolerance" goes both ways. Maybe send a special shout-out to his peeps in Pakistan.
No Christmas decorations brighten the tent camp sheltering Christians left homeless by the worst violence against minorities in Pakistan this year. Instead, there is a pervasive sense of fear.

The Christians have received cell phone text messages warning them to expect a “special Christmas present,” they say, and are terrified of their tents being torched or their church services being bombed.

“Last year, I celebrated Christmas full of joy,” said Irfan Masih, cradling his young son among the canvas shelters and open ditches of the camp. But now, he said, “The fear that we may again be attacked is in our hearts.

“They are threatening us, [saying], 'We will again attack you and will not let you out of homes. We will burn you inside this time,' ” Masih said.

It was the fires that most traumatized Gojra’s Christian Colony, a neighborhood in the heart of this Punjabi city about 220 miles southwest of Islamabad. In early August, hundreds of Muslims rampaged through the dirt streets, looting and torching homes as panicked residents tried to flee and thick, black smoke rose into the air.

Eight Christians died — seven of them from one family trapped in a burning home.

“We are going to celebrate Christmas in sorrow because the whole family is hurt by this,” said Almas Hameed, whose father was shot dead during the riots. His wife, two of his children and members of his brother’s family all burned to death.

The attack, which officials said was incited by a banned radical Islamist group Sipah-e-Sahaba Pakistan, followed rumors that Christians had torn pages of a Koran, an act considered sacrilegious by Muslims. The ensuing carnage drew condemnation from the Pope and Pakistan’s prime minister and highlighted how religious extremism has left the country’s minority groups increasingly vulnerable.
When Muslims perpetrate mass murder in this country we're always tut-tutted by the media about a pending "backlash" that nevers occurs. Funny how the media isn't concerned about the "image" of people who are rampaging and causing carnage against innocent Christians.

But Let's Not Read Anything Into This: Ft. Hood Suspect Reportedly Shouted `Allahu Akbar'

Maybe when Barack Obama finds his balls he can give the American people a shout out as to why this happened.
Soldiers who witnessed the shooting rampage at Fort Hood that left 13 people dead reported that the gunman shouted "Allahu Akbar!" before opening fire, the base commander said Friday.

Lt. Gen. Robert Cone said officials had not yet confirmed that the suspected shooter, Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan, made the comment, which is Arabic for "God is great!" before the rampage Thursday, which left 30 people wounded, including the gunman.

An imam from a mosque Hasan regularly attended said Hasan, a lifelong Muslim, was a committed soldier, gave no sign of extremist beliefs and regularly wore his uniform at prayers.
Yes, no sign of extremist beliefs, except for being a Muslim psychopath.

Meanwhile, the terror supporters from CAIR are running scared. Good luck defending this maniac.
"He was making outlandish comments condemning our foreign policy and claimed Muslims had the right to rise up and attack Americans," Col Lee told Fox News.

"He said Muslims should stand up and fight the aggressor and that we should not be in the war in the first place." He said that Maj Hasan said he was "happy" when a US soldier was killed in an attack on a military recruitment centre in Arkansas in June. An American convert to Islam was accused of the shootings.

Col Lee alleged that other officers had told him that Maj Hasan had said "maybe people should strap bombs on themselves and go to Time Square" in New York.
On the upside, at least this psychopath wasn't a wild-eyed conservative teabagger. Then Obama and the left might be spurred into action.

Update: Dan Friedman emails to note the headline in the AP story has changed. Now there's a shocker.

The AP posted this story with this headline and lede on Yahoo! News about two hours ago:

Ft. Hood suspect reportedly shouted `Allahu Akbar' (AP)
AP - Soldiers who witnessed the shooting rampage at Fort Hood that left 13 people dead reported that the gunman shouted "Allahu Akbar!" — an Arabic phrase for "God is great!" — before opening fire, the base commander said Friday.

But now the same links take you to an entirely different story that changes the subject, and the first story's lede is now para #7:

Neighbor: Fort Hood suspect emptied his apartment

Jeff Carlton And Mike Baker, Associated Press Writers

FORT HOOD , Texas – An Army psychiatrist suspected of opening fire on fellow soldiers at Fort Hood cleaned out his apartment in the days before the rampage that left 13 people dead, a neighbor said Friday.

[Sure, it's a "rapidly changing story." Yeah, right. Expect more of the same from the "real news organizations" as/if the mass murderer's Muslim faith emerges as a significant motive. df]

Chickenzzz . . . Comin' Home . . .

This should cause members of the National Lawyers Guild to salivate uncontrollably. I'd expect that PuffHobots and the Kooky Kult of Koslam will go more apeshit than they already are.

Radical cleric Abu Hamza loses extradition appeal

Abu Hamza al-Masri, the radical Muslim cleric, today lost his High Court battle against extradition to the US, where he faces terrorism charges.

Judges rejected his lawyers' submission that the US evidence was “tainted by torture” and therefore inadmissible. They ruled that there was an “unassailable” case against the fundamentalist preacher.

Sir Igor Judge and Mr Justice Sullivan, sitting at the High Court in London, gave his lawyers 14 days to apply for leave to launch a final appeal to the House of Lords against Jacqui Smith's approval of the extradition request.

Abu Hamza, 51, who was born in Egypt, is serving a seven-year jail term for incitement to racial hatred and violence at the top-security Belmarsh prison in southeast London.

Until 2003 he operated from the Finsbury Park Mosque in North London where his radical sermons attracted extremists, including the September 11 conspirator Zacarias Moussaoui and Richard Reid, the failed shoe bomber.

The US authorities want Abu Hamza to stand trial on charges of attempting to set up an al-Qaeda training camp in Oregon and sending money and recruits to assist the Taliban and al-Qaeda

They also allege that he took part in a deadly hostage-taking incident in Yemen in 1998 involving 16 tourists. Three Britons and an Australian were killed in a shootout between Yemeni security forces and the Islamic extremist captors.

If he is eventually extradited to the US after exhausting all avenues of appeal, he could face a total of 11 terrorism charges.

To the embarrassment of the British Government, part of the American prosecution’s case will be built on intelligence gathered by officers in Britain but ruled to be inadmissible in court.

A leading counter-terrorism investigator told The Times that if the secret recordings had been admissible, Abu Hamza would have been prosecuted for his alleged role in the Yemen abductions and deaths in the UK.

He was the first person to be arrested under the streamlined Anglo-American extradition treaty when police raided his home in May 2004. The extradition process was put on hold for his trial in Britain on incitement charges and subsequent attempts to appeal against his convictions.

The House of Lords refused him leave to make further appeals against his convictions leaving the path clear for extradition proceedings.
Heh. Change Abu Hamza al-Asshat can believe in.
Today the High Court judges said they had reached the “clear conclusion that the order made by Judge Workman was properly made, and that the subsequent decision of [Jacqui Smith, Home Secretary] was unassailable”.

Abu Hamza’s lawyers had argued that extradition was unlawful because he would be tried in the US “on the basis of the fruits of torture”. They said there was clear evidence that torture was used on some individuals in the process of gathering the information which led to the US extradition request.

They also contended that it would be “unjust and oppressive” to extradite because of the passage of time and incompatible with Abu Hamza’s human rights. Any further trial should take place in London, they said.

In rejecting all the arguments, the judges said the suggestion that the US evidence was “tainted by torture” and therefore inadmissible was flawed.

The submission fails to recognise that, unlike evidence obtained directly by torture, the ’fruits of the poisoned tree’ are, in principle, admissible under domestic law, and that in this respect there is no fundamental difference between the approach to such evidence either in this country or in the USA,” they ruled.

They concluded that none of the material relied on by the US authorities “carries anything of the smell of the torture chamber sufficient to require its exclusion in a trial in this country”.

The allegation of torture had also been made “in the most general terms, unsupported by evidence”. It failed to distinguish between evidence “which is the indirect fruits of torture and that which is indirectly obtained as a result of ill-treatment falling short of torture”.

Abu Hamza’s future now depends on the granting of a request to make a final appeal to the House of Lords.

A few comments made by Times Online readers
Good riddance to him and all those hypocrites that follow him under the sanctity of our free nation. Take the Labour government with you and all the demoralising, identity stripping door wide open policies to absolutely anybody that can only take and not give back to our country.

You mean our courts actually got something right !!

Just a shame that the Amerricans wont be able to give him the Death Penalty due to our extradition laws.

Good for the judges. I hope the Americans send him to Guantanamo Bay for a while before trial.

A rational outcome from our creaking "justice" system for once.
Keep your fingers crossed that this decision doesn't get overturned.

But will he get through US Security with those "weapons" ? And what about his finger prints... surely you can't allow anyone in the States without having their DNA on record first?

I wonder why he wants to stay in the UK so badly, since he has spent so much effort decrying it?

French 'Youths' Dreaming of Jihad

They need something to do in between carbeques.
Boubakeur el Hakim traded his Paris neighborhood of boulangeries and halal butcher shops for the insurgent camps of Iraq. When he came home, he told his war stories to other young men on the forgotten edges of French society, allegedly persuading some to follow in his footsteps.

His younger brother did, and died fighting U.S. forces

After years of investigation by French authorities, el Hakim, 24, went on trial this month in a case exposing how the Iraq war has sucked radical youths from Europe to a battlefield where they have learned skills that officials fear may one day be used in domestic terror attacks.

Along with four other young Frenchmen, a Moroccan and an Algerian, el Hakim is accused of funneling French Muslim fighters to Iraq. All the Frenchmen except suspected ringleader Farid Benyettou, 26, have acknowledged going to Iraq or planning to go. All deny inciting others to go.

All seven men are accused of criminal association with a terrorist enterprise, a vague charge that carries a maximum 10-year sentence, though the prosecutor only asked for between three and eight years.

The case is a delicate one in France, which strongly opposed the U.S.- led campaign in Iraq but has long struggled against homegrown terrorism. It also highlights a dilemma in many European nations with growing Muslim populations: Cracking down hard risks alienating or radicalizing moderate Muslims and betraying western ideals of tolerance.

These maggots are all in their 20s, but the AP still call them youths.
Investigators say the alleged network funneled about a dozen French fighters to camps linked to al-Qaida in Iraq head Abu Musab al-Zarqawi, and sought to send more before he was killed in a U.S. airstrike in 2006. At least seven French insurgents have died, some in suicide bombings, police say.

The classified case file could fill a suitcase. It includes transcripts of taped phone conversations; suspects' family trees; extremist Islamic sermons; excerpts from a Web site explaining how to use Kalashnikov rifles; and grainy images of dozens of people questioned in the case.

Since the group was dismantled in 2005, young French Muslims wanting to fight abroad have largely steered clear of such organized cells, according to a senior French police official not authorized to be named publicly because of agency policy. Instead, youths are heading to war zones individually, to better avoid detection.

The key concern for French police is not where the fighters go but what they do when they come back to France, home to Europe's largest Muslim population, nearly 10 percent of its 62 million people.
They riot and light cars on fire, what else?

Here's a real stunner.
The fighters said they traveled through Syria first, taking Arabic lessons and getting basic weapons training.
