Pelosi Just Can't Let Loose Her BDS

BDS is a term coined by columnist Charles Krauthammer and stands for Bush Derangement Syndrome. It is the irrational hatred of anything associated with President Bush.

Today on Fox News Sunday she once again hinted that congress may still look into prosecution of some in the Bush administration, at the urging of our favorite personal injury lawyer from Michigan John Conyers.

John Conyers has along history of holding hearings in his role as head of the House Judiciary Committee including the infamous Winter Soldiers II hearings. The only reason Conyers isn't in a state hospital for the mentally insane is because he is an elected official in Washington.

Rep. John Conyers, chairman of the House Judiciary Committee, announced Friday he wants to set up a commission to look into whether the Bush administration broke the law by taking the nation to war against Iraq and instituting aggressive anti-terror initiatives. The Michigan Democrat called for an "independent criminal probe into whether any laws were broken in connection with these activities."

Conyers has been an anti-Iraq war advocate since he first got the memo that he had voted to allow it.

Pelosi of course is handling the pandering to the far left wing nut jobs that comprise the majority of the Democrats so that Barry O doesn't have to get his hands dirty.

"I think you look at each item and see what is a violation of the law and do we even have a right to ignore it," the California Democrat said. "And other things that are maybe time that is spent better looking to the future rather than to the past."

Really Nancy? Then why is it all this week we have been deluged with images of past presidents like Lincoln, Kennedy, Roosevelt. For a party that preaches a lot about looking forward they sure do spend a lot time looking backwards and trying to recapture some self imagined glory.

Is There An Expiration Date on Bush Derangement Syndrome?

We've all seen those moonbat-mobiles adorned with the 1-20-09 bumper stickers, and I firmly hope the affliction known as Bush Derangement Syndrome ceases that day, as the new President of Earth is sworn in and adoring masses freeze their asses off in DC. Alas, I fear we'll never be rid of BDS sufferers. After all, for any of The Messiah's failures, Bush will get the blame.

Today's installment of BDS comes from Peru, where apparently some folks are big fans of leftwing blogs.

PROTESTERS have demanded that US President George W Bush get out of Peru where he is attending an Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit, blaming him for the world economic crisis.

"Bush out," about 1000 demonstrators chanted in the centre of the capital Lima, watched by scores of police in riot gear who made sure they did not move towards the APEC summit venue several kilometres away.

"This crisis didn't come from the Peruvian people. We shouldn't have to pay for it," a union leader told the crowd, which demonstrated peacefully.

Mr Bush, one of 21 leaders of Asia-Pacific economies converging on Lima for the weekend summit, arrived shortly after the protest. He was escorted under tight US Secret Service and Peruvian police security from Lima airport to the army headquarters building housing the APEC meetings.

Friday's anti-Bush protest, organised by Peru's biggest labour union, charged that Mr Bush's decision to wage a costly war in Iraq contributed to the financial and economic crises.

"The International Criminal Court should try him for crimes against humanity, war crimes and crimes of aggression," a big banner next to the main stage for the rally proclaimed.

"Bush - genocide. The Peruvians repudiate your crimes," said another.

"We believe that Bush is responsible for the fall of the financial system," explained Aldo Gil Cristostomo, a 54-year-old mechanic standing near other protesters carrying portraits of Che Guevara.

Aldo, apparently, has never heard of Barney Frank and Chris Dodd.

"The war in Iraq is partly responsible for the fall," he said.

Mr Cristostomo added that, while he had more sympathy for Mr Bush's successor, Barack Obama, he believed the Democrat "is going to maintain the neo-liberal system" championed by the current US president.

Neo-liberal?

Let us all pray once the third Clinton administration rolls around that Bush can ride off to his ranch and raise his middle finger to all these crackpots. He's handled himself with grace and dignity in the face of the most vicious character assault I can recall. History will judge him much better, I believe. His critics, on the other hand, will not be viewed kindly.

Pathetic Leftwing Fringe Group to Spend $8.5 Million Bashing Bush

These nutcases pretend to care so much about the poor and the homeless, so wouldn't it be money better spent if they donated it to charity?

Besides, when you have 99.8% of the media bashing Bush on a daily basis, spending this kind of coin is rather superfluous.

Although, I guess this confirms the fact Bush Derangement Syndrome indeed is a mental illness.

So sad.

A liberal advocacy group plans to spend $8.5 million in a drive to ensure that President Bush's public approval doesn't improve as his days in the White House come to an end.

Americans United for Change plans to undertake a yearlong campaign, spending the bulk of the money on advertising, to keep public attention on what the group says are the Bush administration's failures, including the war in Iraq, the response to Hurricane Katrina and the current mortgage crisis.

In selling the plan to fundraisers, the group has argued that support for President Reagan was at a low of 42 percent in 1987 but climbed to 63 percent before he left office. "All of a sudden he became a rallying cry for conservatives and their ideology," said Brad Woodhouse, the group's president. "Progressives are still living with that."

The group is a nonprofit corporation that made a splash by airing ads against Bush's plans to overhaul Social Security in 2005. The group has conducted polls and focus groups and is now raising money for their anti-Bush effort. It gave a Power Point presentation last week to representatives of about 30 liberal and labor organizations.

It planned to announce the campaign at a press conference Thursday afternoon during a forum featuring liberal critics of the administration. It also aims to air its first ad before Bush's State of the Union speech on Monday.

Woodhouse said one goal is to make sure Bush does not enjoy a resurgence in public approval toward the end of his presidency that could help Republican congressional candidates and the GOP presidential nominee in this year's elections.

What does this moron Woodhouse propose if Bush's approval increases with hindsight once he leaves office? Considering the disaster another Clinton administration would bestow upon us, it's safe to say Bush will really be looking good in a couple of years.

White House preparing to stage new September 11

A former Reagan official has issued a public warning that the Bush administration is preparing to orchestrate a staged terrorist attack in the United States, transform the country into a dictatorship and launch a war with Iran within a year.

Paul Craig Roberts, a former Assistant Secretary of the Treasury, blasted Thursday a new Executive Order, released July 17, allowing the White House to seize the assets of anyone who interferes with its Iraq policies and giving the government expanded police powers to exercise control in the country.

Roberts, who spoke on the Thom Hartmann radio program, said: "When Bush exercises this authority [under the new Executive Order], there's no check to it. So it really is a form of total, absolute, one-man rule."

Note: Thom Hartmann's radio program is broadcast by that Arbitron rating book-busting radio network -- Air Amerika.

"The American people don't really understand the danger that they face," Roberts said, adding that the so-called neoconservatives intended to use a renewal of the fight against terrorism to rally the American people around the fading Republican Party.

Old-line Republicans like Roberts have become increasingly disenchanted with the neoconservative politics of the Bush administration, which they see as a betrayal of fundamental conservative values.

According to a July 9-11 survey by Ipsos, an international public opinion research company, President Bush and the Republicans can claim a mere 31 percent approval rating for their handling of the Iraq war and 38 percent for their foreign policy in general, including terrorism.

And what's the approval rating for the Congress led by the progressive kommissars Nancy Pelousi, Jacques Murtha and Harriet Reid?

"The administration figures themselves and prominent Republican propagandists ... are preparing us for another 9/11 event or series of events," he said. "You have to count on the fact that if al Qaeda is not going to do it, it is going to be orchestrated."

Sweet. Straight out of the Nazi playbook: The Big Lie Theory. Komrades Lenin & Stalin employed similar tactics, as did their successors.

Roberts suggested that in the absence of a massive popular outcry, only the federal bureaucracy and perhaps the military could put constraints on Bush's current drive for a fully-fledged dictatorship.

"They may have had enough. They may not go along with it," he said.

The radio interview was a follow-up to Robert's latest column, in which he warned that "unless Congress immediately impeaches Bush and Cheney, a year from now the U.S. could be a dictatorial police state at war with Iran."

Roberts, who has been dubbed the "Father of Reaganomics" and has recently gained popularity for his strong opposition to the Bush administration and the Iraq War, regularly contributes articles to Creators Syndicate, an independent distributor of comic strips and syndicated columns for daily newspapers.

What a disappointment! Roberts has these great theories but leaves out how the Jooooos were behind 9/11 and that fire can't melt steel.

Probably thought that if he included those "facts" with the ones cited above, people would think he's just another nut.

BDS Extends to Education

Democrats move to slash Reading First
House Democrats want to put their own stamp on federal education spending by increasing Title I and other programs they favor and slashing Reading First and other priorities set by President Bush.
In the $56 billion fiscal 2008 spending bill for the Department of Education unveiled by the Democrats, No Child Left Behind Act programs would receive a $2 billion increase, with the Title I program for disadvantaged students receiving $1.5 billion of that.
But the $1.03 billion Reading First program—which the Bush administration points to as one of its biggest accomplishments under the NCLB law—would take a cut of $630 million, or 61 percent. What’s more, the administration’s latest proposals for private school vouchers and new mathematics programs would not be funded at all.

It would decline to provide the $325 million the president proposed for private school choice to give such options to students who attend chronically low-performing public schools.
The bill also would not fund math programs for elementary schools and middle schools proposed by Mr. Bush. And it would give only level funding to the $31.9 million Striving Readers program for middle schoolers, far less than the Bush administration request of $100 million.
Rep. Obey said that the bill’s price tag has raised the prospect that President Bush would veto it. [ed.- You just have to love that reason in light of all the pork they tried to put into the military budget for Iraq] But the Appropriations Committee chairman, who also leads the Labor-HHS-Education subcommittee, had significant support from Republicans on the subcommittee to finance the programs Congress sees as a priority.

One other item of note is that all though the article they constantly refer to the President as Mr. Bush.
So who is Rep. Obey? Why he is the guy trying to become the pork barrel king of Washington.

Bloggers are particularly irked by reports that Obey will only add earmarks to House-Senate conference agreements that generally cannot be amended on the floor. In the past, earmarks have been included in the separate House and Senate versions of appropriations bills and the committee reports that accompany them.


So Mr Obey who is part of that party who was going to change that “culture of congress” is reporting for duty and has decided that rather then do something to get rid of the shading spending plans in congress he simply wants to hide them or make it so that you, the taxpayer, has no say in where your money goes. Apparently the main method the Dems wish to use to make sure "No Child is left Behind" is to also make sure no child succeeds.

BDS, Brazilian Style

President Bush went down to Brazil today and sure enough, the usual coterie of leftwing whiners were there to greet him, mouthing the usual pap.

Police clashed Thursday with students, environmentalists and left-leaning Brazilians protesting a visit by President Bush and his push for an ethanol energy alliance with Latin America's largest nation.

Riot police fired tear gas at protesters in Sao Paulo after more than 6,000 people held a largely peaceful march, sending hundreds of demonstrators fleeing and ducking into businesses to avoid the gas.

The fun wasn't just contained to Brazil. They're already warming up in Colombia.

Clashes between police and anti-Bush protesters were also reported in Colombia, where Bush is scheduled to visit on Sunday as part of his five-nation tour to Latin America.

Bush has spoken approvingly of Brazil's ethanol program, which powers eight out of every 10 new Brazilian cars. The proposed accord is meant to help turn ethanol into an internationally traded commodity and to promote sugarcane-based ethanol production in Central America and the Caribbean.

In Sao Paulo, some carried stalks of sugarcane — used to make ethanol — and a banner reading: "For every liter of ethanol produced, 4 liters of fresh water are consumed, monoculture is destroying the nation's greatest asset."

And in the southern city of Porto Alegre, more than 500 people yelled "Get out, imperialist!" as they marched to a Citigroup Inc. bank branch and burned an effigy of Bush.

Fearing that Brazil may clear pristine jungle to increase sugarcane cultivation for ethanol, Greenpeace activists hung a huge banner warning against increased reliance on ethanol as an alternative fuel. They placed the banner on a monument to the 17th century Portuguese explorers who conquered Brazil's Indians in search of gold and gems.

"We know that Bush and the United States are known for exploiting weaker countries into deals that will only benefit themselves without worrying about the environment," said Mariana Schwarz, a 25-year-old publicist.

"Bush and the United States go to war to control oil reserves, and now Bush and his pals are trying to control the production of ethanol in Brazil. And that has to be stopped," said Suzanne Pereira dos Santos, an activist with Brazil's Landless Workers Movement.

No blood for ethanol!

Meanwhile, we also see how much good Bush's pandering to Mexico has done.

And in Mexico City, which Bush is scheduled to visit Tuesday, about two dozen demonstrators gathered in front of the U.S. Embassy chanting slogans against the U.S. project to construct border fences and Bush's visit.

"Why is he coming here? It makes no sense, it's unreasonable, after all he's done," said protest leader Roman Diaz Vazquez, a lawyer. "We don't like him. Why is he coming, after he ordered the construction of the border wall?"

Carmelo Ramriez Reyes showed up for the protest in a devil's mask, carrying a placard reading "My name is George Bush, killer of Mexicans."
