Blue Collar Man of the People Sues Bar for Copyright Infringement

I can't be the only one who's sick of this guy's self-righteous, blue-collar phoniness. He's a guy living in a mansion hosting fundraisers for fatcat Democrats but after all these years he still likes to pretend he a man of the people. Then he pulls some petty nonsense like this.

Bruce Springsteen is showing a midtown bar who's The Boss.

The rocker slapped Connolly's Pub & Restaurant on W. 45th St. with a copyright infringement lawsuit Wednesday.

He claims the bar hosted a band on Aug. 9, 2008, that performed three of Springsteen's hits - and charged customers a cover fee.

Venues that host live performances are supposed to pay an annual licensing fee to the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers, which doles out royalties.

Springsteen had no comment, but ASCAP officials said the point of the action was to protect all songwriters.

"It's not about him as a recording artist," said Vincent Candilora, ASCAP senior vice president for licensing. "In this instance, he's simply a songwriter with rights."

Good grief, people, it's three songs in some little bar. Is this really infringing on your rights when you're filthy rich? I suspect 40 years ago when he was up and coming he played more than a few covers at bars and wasn't paying royalties. What's next, going after garage bands for playing your songs at a keg party where where everyone ponied up a couple bucks for the beer?

"It's absurd for him [Springsteen] to go after a little pub when he's selling records and making dough," Cumia said.

"Bruce doesn't need the $8 a month that he'd get from this band playing at Connolly's."

Stars Come Out to Honor Decrepit Communist

Naturally, the modern-day man of the people, Bruce Springsteen, was on hand to laud this old maggot.

Last night, at the Pete Seeger birthday bash at Madison Square Garden, Bruce Springsteen described the 90-year-old legend best, telling the sold-out house, "Behind his grandfatherly facade lies stubborn, nasty, defiant optimism."

The Boss, who was the unofficial headliner for the all-star musical tribute that featured more than 50 acts, added a personal note to Seeger, saying, "Pete, you outlasted the bastards."

I guess "the bastards" are people who are opposed to Communism.

Naturally, Springsteen made it all about himself.

Certainly, the show itself had a more contemporary, and far more optimistic, tone than it would have had the recent election turned out differently. Many stars evoked the hope of President Obama, including Springsteen, who gave a long and rousing speech at the end recounting his trip to the inauguration with the birthday boy.

Yawn.

I can't be the only one who's tired of Bruce Spingsteen and his lame blue collar schtick. He long ago sold out and became a Democrat Party hack. Naturally, keeping with Democrat family values, he's apparently cheating on a second wife and wrecking families.

A New Jersey man has accused rocker Bruce Springsteen of doing more than "Dancing in the Dark" with his wife - claiming in court papers that the rock 'n' roll legend had an affair with her.

In divorce papers filed on March 27 in Monmouth County, NJ Superior Court and first obtained by Star magazine, businessman Arthur Kelly alleges that Ann, his wife of 17 years, "committed adultery with one Bruce Springsteen ... at various times and places too numerous to mention."

Bruce, 59, has been married to his second wife, backup singer Patti Scialfa, 53 -- with whom he has three children -- also for 17 years.

Star reported that neither The Boss nor Ann Kelly responded to repeated requests for comment.

They fail to mention he was cheating on his previous wife with Scialfa, who apparently was also unavailable for comment.

It's highly unlikely Springsteen would pay any mind to this idiocy and he'll be wise to keep to performing and leave the politics for another day. The NFL has made it clear they'd like halftime and pregame performers stick to music and leave the politics off stage.

The afternoon's penultimate moment again found Springsteen, joined this time by Pete Seeger and a different choir, singing Woody Guthrie's "This Land Is Your Land," a song once viewed as a leftist national anthem that the Boss rightfully referred to as "the greatest song written about our home." The perf was a moment of community with no star turns, a song that worked off of a collective voice of the people onstage and the thousands gathered around the reflecting pool on the Mall. It was the song that did the best job of reinforcing and galvanizing the thoughts that had been expressed throughout the day and the Obama campaign.

Geez, these people are so full of themselves.
