House GOP tells Dems to party on...without us

The Republican members of the House walked out of the capitol in a dispute with the Dems over the FISA (Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act). At issue is voting to continue the program. It is scheduled to expire Friday at midnight unless it is approved. The Dems have decided that it is more important to honor former representative Tom Lantos, grill baseball players, scrutinize football teams, and to continue their Don Quixote act of issuing contempt citations for two former White House aides Harriet Miers and Josh Bolten.

So while the enemies of this country wait in breathless anticipation that the Dems win to provide them even the smallest window of opportunity for them to slip something past us, the Dems continue to show all Americans that your lives are nothing more then something else to be used as a tool to make their grandiose gestures of servitude to the MoveOn crowd who now control their party.

Try to imagine this Congress with a Democrat president. Hug your children, for if the Dems have their way the comment about acting like you need to show them love because you don't ever know what is going to happen will become all too frighteningly real.

Comments on Democrat debate in IA

Okay I watched it so you don't have to and here are my takeaways. First off everything that you consider mean, evil or bad can be directly tied to the war in Iraq, from Medicare to farm subsidies. Once again they tried to one up each other on who could get out of Iraq the fastest. They tried to bash Bush, I feel sorry for them when they find out he isn't on the ballot this time. So here are basic responses to the key questions put to them. Oh don't be silly there wasn't nothing about radical Islamists or illegal immigration. They also did a lot of pandering to the teachers union.
First general policy statements.

Biden End war now, abandon Bush policy on prisoners, health insurance for all, and pre school education

Richardson, - all troops out in year no residual troops left, universal health care, something on energy and slap on current policies handling prisoners and the Patriot Act

Dodd - Change discourse in politics, robust diplomacy in ME, health care and energy, form committee

Edwards - End the war, close Gitmo, fight for health care reform, call on Americans to take America back and oh yeah corporate greed

Clinton - End war, end era of cowboy diplomacy, rescind executive orders, end Bush’s war on science.

Here we go. Lame question time
New Years Resolution

Hillary - Exercise and campaign harder

Edwards - No resolution, pleading about hungry children, begging for health care and daddy's losing jobs

Dodd - Want to see country regain "moral authority"

Richardson - Lose weight, end congress and president dysfunctional relationship

Biden - Remember when things were bad

Obama - Better husband and father

Oh yeah and just because I can here is a new video clip from FredStates showing Fred's greatest hits from yesterday.

Rep Pete Stark stops by Dailykos to say thanks

Representative Peter Stark, after making his outrageous remarks on the floor of the House yesterday during the debate leading up to the vote to sustain the SCHIP veto, found time to stop by a progressive far left hate site and express his thanks for their words of support.

Yes it is the same site run by a guy who in response to the murder of some contractors in Fallujah who were then hung from the bridge leading to the city said "Screw 'em"

Every death should be on the front page (2.70 / 40)
Let the people see what war is like. This isn't an Xbox game. There are real repercussions to Bush's folly.

That said, I feel nothing over the death of merceneries. They aren't in Iraq because of orders, or because they are there trying to help the people make Iraq a better place. They are there to wage war for profit. Screw them.

The same guy who promoted the campaign of Ned Lamont to unseat Joseph Lieberman in CT.

The same guy who held a convention in Chicago in which every current person running for the Democrat presidential nomination saw fit to visit.

The very epitome of the "New" Democrat Party.
