Joe Klein: Palin and Beck Are Seditious or Something

Mind-bending stupidity courtesy of Obama lapdog Joe Klein and some nitwit from New York magazine, who chimes in to add Rush Limbaugh to the list of seditious conspirators for using the word regime. Chris Matthews doesn't bother to point out he and his MSNBC co-hosts used that word plenty of times during the Bush administration, so I guess they're also guilty of sedition.

Obviously it's keen insight like this that has established Joe Klein as a go to source for political insight. The folks at Time must be thrilled they're getting their money's worth. Seemingly everyone on the planet knows Obama and the Democrats were viciously gangster-slapped Thursday, but Joe Klein, ace reporter, knows better, and he didn't even see it.

A scary talent, this one.

Shame on me. I was elsewhere yesterday and missed the health care summit. I'm catching up now, and the tea leaves seem to indicate that Obama came out well ahead of the Republicans. How do I know that? From Matt Drudge, of course. I mean, Drudge's takeaway from the summit is that the President talked a lot--actually, the President, the Congressional Democrats and Republicans each spoke an equal amount--the Times of London found it boring and the networks turned to other programming.

Reading between the lines, you can conclude that the Republicans had nothing very interesting, or clever, to say (and were never able to get the President's goat). And that the President was his usual, unflappable, well-informed self. You can also conclude that not much progress was made at the summit, as Karen reports here--but that's a huge surprise, right?

Does Klein even have a DVR? Maybe he ought to, you know, actually watch and see what happened before looking like a complete buffoon.

No offense to Matt Drudge, but there are other sources of information out there that offer a wide array of opinion. Yet this hack peruses a couple of sites, checks out a few headlines and comes to a conclusion diametrically opposed to virtually 100% of the opinion makers out there.

Is there anyone at Time wondering why this clown is drawing a paycheck?

Ferret-Faced Freak: Fox News is Seditious

The amusing thing about this unhinged rant is the moron actually takes the White House to task for the quagmire that is The War on Fox News.

Let me be precise here: Fox News peddles a fair amount of hateful crap. Some of it borders on sedition. Much of it is flat out untrue.

But I don't understand why the White House would give such poisonous helium balloons as Glenn Beck and Sean Hannity the opportunity for still greater spasms of self-inflation by declaring war on Fox.

If the problem is that stories bloated far beyond their actual importance--ACORN's corruption, Van Jones's radical past--are in danger of leaching out of the Fox hothouse into the general media, then perhaps the Administration should be a bit more diligent about whom it hires and whom it funds.

If the problem is broader--that Fox News spreads seditious lies to its demographic sliver of an audience--the Administration should probably be stoic: the wingnuts will always be with us. The best antidote to their garbage is elegant, intelligent governance. The next-best antidote is occasional engagement: I thought Obama came away from his O'Reilly and Chris Wallace interviews much the better for it. (Though you don't want to sit down with a thug like Hannity or a weirdo like Beck.)

Yes, he'd rather sit down with a thug like Keith Olbermann.

Klein, naturally, provides zero evidence of "flat out untrue stories from Fox and pathetically tries to downplay the ACORN scandal. He dismissed the "radical past" of Van Jones while conveniently overlooking his radical current. Claiming Fox has a sliver of an audience is preposterous based on their ratings, which continue to increase and promise to skyrocket the longer Obama is bogged down in his un-winnable war against Fox.

As bad as Obama and his thugs have been acting, even they haven't gone so far as to call Fox seditious.

Media Bailout Picks Up Steam: More Reporters Hired by Democrats

Considering the sorry state of the mainstream media, is it any wonder these "journalists" are bailing out and making the lateral move to go work for Democrats? They've been stealing money from their employers by shilling for Democrats all these years so it's only logical they go work for their pals.

On Monday we noted that the Chicago Tribune's Jill Zuckman took a job in the Obama administration, which Michelle Malkin noted was at least the fourth reporter to join up with the Hopenchange bandwagon.

Well now the Politico notes another reporter has signed on with failed presidential candidate John Kerry.

On Tuesday, Cox’s Scott Shepard joined Sen. John Kerry’s office as a speechwriter, becoming the second journalist this year to take a job under the Massachusetts Democrat. Investigative reporter Doug Frantz is now chief investigator under the Kerry-helmed Senate Foreign Relations Committee.

A week before Zuckman announced that she’s headed for Obama’s Transportation Department, her Tribune colleague Peter Gosselin signed on as speechwriter for Obama’s treasury secretary, Tim Geithner.

In December, Jay Carney relinquished his perch as Time’s Washington bureau chief to become Vice President Joe Biden’s communications director. Warren Bass left the Washington Post’s Outlook section to write speeches and advise Dr. Susan Rice at the United Nations. Daniel W. Reilly left Politico to become communications director for Rep. Ed Markey (D-Mass.) Linda Douglass left the National Journal for the Obama campaign back in May, and is expected to become assistant secretary for public affairs in the department of Health and Human Services.

On Monday, Pew’s Project for Excellence in Journalism published a report on “The New Washington Press Corps,” grim statistics confirming the high rate at which regional newspapers are shuttering their D.C. bureaus while niche and foreign outlets grow.

Of the journalists flocking to government jobs, Pew Project Director Tom Rosenstiel says: “There’s no mystery here, and I don’t think the key to this is ideological as much as economic. The newspaper industry, in Washington in particular, is suffering mightily.”

So instead of propaganda disguised as news well get propaganda disguised as news releases.

Frantz isn’t alone in downplaying the partisan aspect of his new job. Maybe it’s based on a lifetime of non-partisan conditioning, but many of the reporters who’ve made the leap to government seem hesitant to admit that they’re no longer impartial observers.

“This is a Democratic administration; we’re obviously on that side of the aisle, but I don’t see this as a partisan job at all,” Carney told the Times a couple weeks back.

Carney told the Times that he had “an affinity” with Biden and Obama, but that it didn’t influence his coverage at the newsweekly. Time staffers have told Politico that they could never tell Carney’s politics during the 2008 race.

“I didn’t even know Jay was a Democrat,” Time’s Joe Klein said.

Clueless Joe was apparently the last to know. Memo to Klein: The whole world knew Carney was a Democrat. Are you really that stupid or are you just a bad liar?

Do these people think we're all complete idiots, unable to notice when media hacks are biased? It's so painfully obvious, which is why the media is in such dire straits. Their downfall began long before the economic downturn, so blaming it on the economy is just a weak copout.

The ferret-faced freak is in the final spasms of BDS. So much anger and hatred. Forget the fact that George W. Bush has kept us free from terrorism on our soil since 9/11. One can only imagine how quick this asshole will be to torture terrorists if they dare strike during the upcoming era of Hopenchange.

Since we live in an advanced Western civilization, there needs to be legal justification when we torture people, and the Bush Administration proudly produced it. Memos authorizing the use of "enhanced" techniques were written in the Justice Department's Office of Legal Council. Vice President Dick Cheney and his nefarious aide, David Addington, had a hand in the process. The memos were approved by Bush's legal counsel, Alberto Gonzales. A memo listing specific interrogation techniques that could be used to torture prisoners like Mohammed al-Khatani was passed to Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld. He signed it on Dec. 2, 2002, although he seemed a bit disappointed by the lack of rigor when it came to stress positions: "I stand for 8-10 hours a day," he noted. "Why is standing limited to four hours?"

It would be interesting, just for the fun and justice of it, to subject Rumsfeld to four hours in a stress position — standing stock still with his arms extended, naked, in a cold room after maybe two hours' sleep. But that's not going to happen. Indeed, it seems probable that nothing much is going to happen to the Bush Administration officials who perpetrated what many legal scholars consider to be war crimes. "I would say that there's some theoretical exposure here" to a war-crimes indictment in U.S. federal court, says Gene Fidell, who teaches military justice at Yale Law School. "But I don't think there's much public appetite for that sort of action." There is, I'm told, absolutely no interest on the part of the incoming Obama Administration to pursue indictments against its predecessors. "We're focused on the future," said one of the President-elect's legal advisers. Fidell and others say it is possible, though highly unlikely, that Bush et al. could be arrested overseas — one imagines the Vice President pinched midstream on a fly-fishing trip to Norway — just as Augusto Pinochet, the Chilean dictator, was indicted in Spain and arrested in London for his crimes.

How sad. Get over it, Joe. I know you're upset that Bush, Cheney and Rumsfeld have kept us safe. Perhaps you'll get your wish for more terrorism on our soil now that Obama is president. But you really should seek counseling to help get over your rage.

If you ever needed a textbook example of a biased media hack with his head stuck either up his own ass or girded firmly between Barack Obama's loins, look no further than fawning ferret face Joe Klein. Here we have a dispatch 20 minutes into President-in-Training Barack Obama's inaugural press conference today:

--His answers were crisp and brief. The most expansive was his response to the puppy question. This presages a cool, businesslike presidency. And I should add: His self-identification as a "mutt" was just delightful.

First of all, I just reviewed what Klein watched live. I counted approximately 472 "uhhhhs" from President-in-Training Obama. Didn't exactly come across as crisp and brief.

--No gaffes. Unlike Bill Clinton, who opened the door to the "gays in the military" question in his first press conference, Obama said nothing controversial, so far as I can tell.

Uhhh, really, Joe? Then why did President-in-Training Obama call Nancy Reagan and apologize for a monster gaffe which the entire world, but apparently not you, saw?

--Unlike his immediate predecessor, he seemed completely in control.

So, compared with his predecessor, how did mumbling through a "press conference" with slobbering media hacks like yourself, Joe, make Obama seem completely in control?

You just knew when we got questions about puppies it was all downhill from there. And a groveling, sycophantic press corps didn't let you down. That you have a senior member of the media from Time magazine oblivious to the slur against Nancy Reagan today, not even able to detect the possibility some folks might be offended, says all you need to know about the journalistic reputation of Joe Klein. He was busy laughing along with the assembled elites.

But to Clueless Joe, Barack Obama was crisp, completely in control and made no gaffes.

And people pay any attention to Joe Klein why?

Naturally, this twerp still manages to get in a cheapshot at McCain while taking The Messiah to task for the embarrassing ad where he slanders Rush Limbaugh.

I've given up any hope of McCain running an honest campaign, but if Obama really wants to present an honorable alternative to McCain's non-stop sleaze, he should take down his immigration ad immediately.

Of course this moron overlooks the fact Obama has been running far more negative ads than McCain.
