Why Tipper's Enthusiasm for Al Was Curbed

Maybe Larry David can crack funny about this when Curb Your Enthusiasm returns.

Al Gore's split from wife Tipper after 40 years of marriage was a shock to everyone who thought theirs was the ideal marriage. Now Star can exclusively reveal that the former Vice President was having an affair with Larry David's ex-wife — for the past two years!

In the June 28 issue of Star, on sale Wednesday, we report that Al and Tipper's breakup didn't come as much of a surprise to one Hollywood player — Laurie David. Star has learned that Al has been having an affair with Laurie, who divorced Seinfeld creator and Curb Your Enthusiasm star Larry David in 2007 amidst reports she was cheating with the caretaker of their Martha's Vineyard summer home.

“Al and Laurie went from friends to lovers," an insider tells Star. "It couldn’t be avoided."

Obviously the Manimal magnetism of Manbearpig could not be resisted.

Let's look at it this way: It's better than the gay affair rumor (NTTAWWT) because the visual of that would require years of therapy.

An Inconvenient Tennis Court

Oh, to be one of the beautiful people. Climb up on your soapbox and lecture us all about the environment while also becoming very wealthy (marrying money also helps). Yet when the moral preening ends and you need to expand your lavish estate, suddenly your environmental concerns take a back seat.

SELF-proclaimed environmentalist Laurie David is once again paving over protected wetlands in Martha's Vineyard to make improvements to her Chilmark estate.

The Vineyard Gazette reports that David, ex-wife of "Curb Your Enthusiasm" star Larry David and executive producer of the global-warming documentary "An Inconvenient Truth," was fined $900 Tuesday after receiving a citation from the Chilmark conservation commission.

David was cited for violating the Wetlands Protection Act during the construction of a tennis court on her sprawling Chilmark property, when workers installed boards and stones to construct a path to the court.

But David -- who spent weeks on the road with Sheryl Crow in 2007 during their Stop Global Warming College Tour -- let her contractor, Bart Thorpe, take the fall for the violations. "She's obviously a very busy person, and she trusted the contractor," Thorpe told the Gazette. "I inadvertently made a mistake. It's something she had no knowledge of . . . It's a minor thing."

Maybe it wouldn't be such a major deal on the Vineyard if the supposed eco-obsessed celebrity hadn't been cited for the exact same violation four years ago. In 2005, David constructed a stone fire pit, a barbecue area and a children's theater stage in a wetlands area without a permit.

Because of the repeat offense, Chilmark officials fined David and required her to restore the area.

Oh, the horror. Now she may have to be airlifted into her tennis court in order not to soil her sneakers.

Limousine Libs Gone Wild

Fred Barnes provides an updated account of Karl Rove being harassed by Mrs. Larry David and One-Square.

Nothing more ridiculous than a pair of arrogant, know-nothing libs talking trash to an intellectual superior.

The point of recounting this stunt by two of Hollywood's most prominent limousine liberals--who have accused Rove of rudeness--is to put him in the proper political context. He is the chief target of Democrats, liberals, and the left, and they burn with a desire to see him discredited, fired, and jailed. If all else fails, and it has so far, they'll settle for tainting him as impolite.

A few Democrats have talked of impeaching President Bush, but that idea is a nonstarter. Representative Dennis Kucinich has called for impeaching Vice President Cheney. But with enemies like Kucinich, Cheney doesn't need friends. When the Democratic presidential candidates were polled at a debate in South Carolina last week, they pointedly failed to agree with Kucinich. So that leaves Rove at the top of the Democratic hit list.

Rove is more than a symbol. He is the architect of Bush's election triumphs and an influential player in pushing the president's agenda. He represents Republican success. The Democratic strategy now is to criminalize that success by treating normal political conduct by the Bush administration, spearheaded by Rove, as a series of criminal acts.

This obsession with Rove by the left borders on psychosis. Typically enough, if you can't beat the man fair and square, you have to destroy him personally. The politics of personal destruction has indeed been perfected by the Democrats.

Rove Harassed by Environmental Wackos

Huffington Post simpletons Laurie David and Sheryl Crow decided to ambush Karl Rove at the White House Correspondents' Association dinner.

Global warming was the talking point last night at the White House Correspondents' Association dinner when singer Sheryl Crow and "Inconvenient Truth" producer Laurie David walked over to Table 92 at the Hilton Washington to chat with Karl Rove -- and the resulting exchange was suitably heated.

"I am floored by what I just experienced with Karl Rove," David reports. "I went over to him and said, 'I urge you to take a new look at global warming.' He went zero to 100 with me. . . . I've never had anyone be so rude."

Rove's version: "She came over to insult me and she succeeded."

So these two interrupt the guy at a dinner and proceed to lecture him, and he's being rude?

Typically, they offer up some ghost-written tripe on the hate site.

We asked Mr. Rove if he would consider taking a fresh look at the science of global warming. Much to our dismay, he immediately got combative. And it went downhill from there.

We reminded the senior White House advisor that the US leads the world in global warming pollution and we are doing the least about it. Anger flaring, Mr. Rove immediately regurgitated the official Administration position on global warming which is that the US spends more on researching the causes than any other country.

As usual, plenty of incoherent comments follow. Here's just a sample.

Laurie and Sheryl, I hate to inject paranoia into your wonderful efforts, but if Karl Rove were personally enraged at me, I would be watching my back big time.

This is a man who was bringing corrupt things to pass for years in Texas when all he had to work with was one single corrupt FBI agent. Now he has unimaginable resources at his disposal. In many ways he's running the whole show.

So many of the worst scum-bag things that have happened in Washington since 2000 have Rove's stench about them, from the lie on days 1-20 about the Clinton people having vandalized the White house on the way out, to the disappearance / death of Chandra Levy, to the politicization of the justice department. I could name 100 more.

We have to get this guy's dirty hands out of our government!
