'You’re an Actor, Act. Don’t Talk About Politics or Religion'

Safe to say Julia Roberts gets it. Unfortunately too many of her Hollywood brethren have never figured that out. It's political season, which means it's time for celebutards to say really stupid things.
As August winds to a close, midterm elections are just around the corner, and the debate on who will bring home the bacon in November is heating up – in Hollywood, that is.

“The Tea Party is going to split the Republican vote,” songstress Sheryl Crow predicted to Fox sister publication The Australian this week. “Which can only be good for the Democrats. That has to be the hope. Either that, or we all move to Canada.”
Is there anything more childish than the ritualistic declaration you're going to pick up and leave the country if you don't get your way?
Crow is on tour to promote her new album, 100 Miles from Memphis. Reviews for the album have been mixed – but Crow has not minced words in giving her own review of the political scene. New song “Say What You Want” takes aim at Sarah Palin: “I saw you ranting on TV today // I heard you tell me to reload // You got a lot of nerve to talk that way // Someone unplug the microphone.”

Crow told The Australian, “It’s risky to do that because you just get slagged off for being preachy. But the morning Sarah Palin came out and said, ‘reload,’ there was no way I wasn’t going to write about that. I did struggle whether to put it on the record or not, because it’s such a hot button.”
Crow, of course, became a national laughingstock over her weird obsession with toilet paper. Being a punchline apparently hasn't curbed her nuttiness.

On the upside, some Hollywood types know better.
One star this week even felt obligated to explain why she doesn’t sound off on hot topics. “I’ve realized something my mother told me 22 years ago,” Julia Roberts said while on tour in Tokyo to promote her new movie "Eat, Pray, Love". “You’re an actor, act. Don’t talk about politics or religion.”

But while the Sean Penns, George Clooneys, and Jon Voights of the world are known as much for their politics as for their art, many Hollywood celebrities still stay out of the political arena – at least publicly.

“Jennifer Aniston has been on every single show this week, but you haven’t heard her talking about Afghanistan. You don’t hear Stallone talking about health care. Give me something of depth, something meaty,” says Grobel. “There’s a glut of celebrities not having opinions and being vapid and dumbing down America with attempts at promoting themselves over and over again. Let them take a note of seriousness once in a while.”
Update: Via Sister Toldjah, apparently Roberts hasn't always practiced what she's now preaching.

'You Talk Like a White Girl'

America's newest supermodel regales the children. While her idiot husband was yukking it up with Jay Leno and making jokes about the Special Olympics, Mrs. Biceps was whooping it up with some celebrities.
First Lady Michelle Obama visited a high school here Thursday, talking about her start in life on Chicago's South Side--never stepped foot at the University of Chicago because it "had nothing" to do with her-- and how she was told "you talk like a white girl" while growing up.

Mrs. Obama's visit was one of several her office coordinated on Thursday--drawing in female role models, including some celebrities-- as part of her National Women's History Month outreach to girls, to her new city, and her drive to make the White House more accessible.

Surprising 13 students at Southeast Washington's Anacostia High School,

She told them it's National Women's History Month, her background, her upbringing on the South Side of Chicago, working class family. She said she lived near the University of Chicago, but never set foot inside when she was growing up. "It was a fancy college, it had nothing to do with me."

Other high-profile women were dispatche to similiar events at other schools in the district and its Maryland and Virginia suburbs, incuding, Sheryl Crow, Dominique Dawes, Alicia Keys, Debbie Allen, Penny Pritzker and Maggie Daley, wife of Chicago Mayor Daley.

The students were very interested in Mrs. Obama's life and lifestyle.

A student asked her who does her makeup. She said, "I do my own makeup," except for special occasions, according to the pool report.

The pool report continued, "She was asked about her clothes. She made a kind of "what, this old thing?" gesture. "This is just a little jacket and pants," she said. Of course, she looked fabulous. She was dressed in a black ensemble - black jacket, with skinny black belt, big black flower up to one side. Black skinny pants. Black patent flats. Hair down."

".......She told the kids, don't worry about what your friends say, or teachers who don't think you can do something. "Work hard, do your best."

She said: "I wanted an A, I wanted to be the person who had the right answers. People said, you talk like a white girl - I don't know what that means."

Mrs. Clinton: I Risked My Life With Sinbad

The Pantsuit is really getting desperate.

Now we're hearing about harrowing tales of heroism while flying around as First Lady.
Ever since Barack Obama suggested Hillary Clinton's eight years as first lady were a glorified tea party a few days back, she's looked for an opening to strike back.

On Saturday night in Dubuque she pounced, arguing she risked her life on White House missions in the 1990s, including a hair-raising flight into Bosnia that ended in a "corkscrew" landing and a sprint off the tarmac to dodge snipers.

"I don't remember anyone offering me tea," she quipped.

The dictum around the Oval Office in the '90s, she added, was: "If a place was too dangerous, too poor or too small, send the first lady."

It turns out that Clinton wasn't quite flying solo into harm's way that day.

She was, in fact, leading a goodwill entourage that included baggy-pants funnyman Sinbad, singer Sheryl Crow and Clinton's daughter, Chelsea, then 15, according to an account of the March 1995 trip in her autobiography "Living History."
Guffaws all around with this one.

Truly pathetic.

Suitably Flip: First Lady Hillary Risked Her Life For Her Country

Gateway Pundit: Superhero Hillary's Got Experience...

Sister Toldjah: It’s a bird, it’s a plane, it’s SuperHill!

Maybe this is why Chelsea isn't talking.

UPDATE: Now she's politicizing New Year's.

A new beginning, huh?

Besides being redundant, there was a new beginning back in 1993 as well.

In fact, that was the theme of Clinton's first inaugural.
In charge of the events are Mr. Clinton's best fund-raiser and image-makers: Rahm Emanuel, the 32-year-old Clinton campaign finance director, and two close friends of the President-elect, Linda Bloodworth-Thomason and Harry Thomason. They are the husband-wife team that created the television hits "Designing Women" and "Evening Shade," as well as the film biography of Mr. Clinton, "The Man from Hope," shown at the Democratic convention.

Mr. Emanuel said the occasion would emphasize "change, hope, opportunity -- a new beginning and also the reunited states."
There is still lingering evidence. Get a load of this one.

Ooo-fa!

UPDATE II: Happy New Year! Suitably Flip has even more Clinton corruption.
Today, the Clinton campaign is trumpeting an endorsement milestone, as Maria Cantwell (D-WA) became the 10th Senator to throw her weight behind Hillary. A statistic the campaign doesn't mention is that Cantwell is now the 6th Senator with financial backing from Norman Hsu and/or his network of alleged straw donors to endorse Senator Clinton.

Other Hsu-greased Democratic Senators already in the Clinton camp include Dianne Feinstein (CA), Robert Menendez (NJ), Mark Pryor (AR), Debbie Stabenow (MI), and Sheldon Whitehouse (RI). Senator Tom Harkin (D-IA), one of Hsu's most richly funded politicians, has not made a formal endorsement, but his wife Ruth endorsed Clinton in July.

Lance Rebounds From One Square

Lance Armstrong has apparently gotten over Sheryl "One Square" Crow pretty quickly and has been spotted canoodling with stick-figure gazillionaire Ashley Olsen.
ODD couple alert: Ashley Olsen has a new, older man. The 21-year-old twin showed up to the Rose Bar at the Gramercy Park Hotel Monday night with Tory Burch's ex, Lance Armstrong, 36. Our bar spy said, "They came together with a group of friends. Ashley drank red wine, sat on his lap and they were making out all night. They left together around 2 a.m."
As a sign of commitment, she's now wearing a blue bracelet around her waist.

Limousine Libs Gone Wild

Fred Barnes provides an updated account of Karl Rove being harassed by Mrs. Larry David and One-Square.

Nothing more ridiculous than a pair of arrogant, know-nothing libs talking trash to an intellectual superior.
The point of recounting this stunt by two of Hollywood's most prominent limousine liberals--who have accused Rove of rudeness--is to put him in the proper political context. He is the chief target of Democrats, liberals, and the left, and they burn with a desire to see him discredited, fired, and jailed. If all else fails, and it has so far, they'll settle for tainting him as impolite.

A few Democrats have talked of impeaching President Bush, but that idea is a nonstarter. Representative Dennis Kucinich has called for impeaching Vice President Cheney. But with enemies like Kucinich, Cheney doesn't need friends. When the Democratic presidential candidates were polled at a debate in South Carolina last week, they pointedly failed to agree with Kucinich. So that leaves Rove at the top of the Democratic hit list.

Rove is more than a symbol. He is the architect of Bush's election triumphs and an influential player in pushing the president's agenda. He represents Republican success. The Democratic strategy now is to criminalize that success by treating normal political conduct by the Bush administration, spearheaded by Rove, as a series of criminal acts.
This obsession with Rove by the left borders on psychosis. Typically enough, if you can't beat the man fair and square, you have to destroy him personally. The politics of personal destruction has indeed been perfected by the Democrats.

Crow on Hygiene

I expect this idiot to say she was just joking any time now. But seriously, do these environmental nutcases ever realize what laughingstocks they are?

UPDATE: Here's the latest poop. Sure enough, One-Square says it was all a joke. Sure, whatever.

Rove Harassed by Environmental Wackos

Huffington Post simpletons Laurie David and Sheryl Crow decided to ambush Karl Rove at the White House Correspondents' Association dinner.
Global warming was the talking point last night at the White House Correspondents' Association dinner when singer Sheryl Crow and "Inconvenient Truth" producer Laurie David walked over to Table 92 at the Hilton Washington to chat with Karl Rove -- and the resulting exchange was suitably heated.

"I am floored by what I just experienced with Karl Rove," David reports. "I went over to him and said, 'I urge you to take a new look at global warming.' He went zero to 100 with me. . . . I've never had anyone be so rude."

Rove's version: "She came over to insult me and she succeeded."
So these two interrupt the guy at a dinner and proceed to lecture him, and he's being rude?

Typically, they offer up some ghost-written tripe on the hate site.
We asked Mr. Rove if he would consider taking a fresh look at the science of global warming. Much to our dismay, he immediately got combative. And it went downhill from there.

We reminded the senior White House advisor that the US leads the world in global warming pollution and we are doing the least about it. Anger flaring, Mr. Rove immediately regurgitated the official Administration position on global warming which is that the US spends more on researching the causes than any other country.
As usual, plenty of incoherent comments follow. Here's just a sample.
Laurie and Sheryl, I hate to inject paranoia into your wonderful efforts, but if Karl Rove were personally enraged at me, I would be watching my back big time.

This is a man who was bringing corrupt things to pass for years in Texas when all he had to work with was one single corrupt FBI agent. Now he has unimaginable resources at his disposal. In many ways he's running the whole show.

So many of the worst scum-bag things that have happened in Washington since 2000 have Rove's stench about them, from the lie on days 1-20 about the Clinton people having vandalized the White house on the way out, to the disappearance / death of Chandra Levy, to the politicization of the justice department. I could name 100 more.

We have to get this guy's dirty hands out of our government!

Chandra Levy?
