Reconquista Starts In Arizona

A noted racist group which operates under the umbrella name of La Raza, "The Race" is currently hard at work organizing a boycott of Arizona. La Raza is made up of several other organizations, most of which have avowed racist agendas and because they are wrapping themselves in self indulgent and deluded symbols of the anti illegal immigrant movement have been able to dupe and involve many legitimate organizations into supporting their cause.

People need to become aware of just who this organization is that is promoting the Arizona bashing and they need to quit being so politically correct that they are afraid to identify just what this organization is and what their ultimate goal is.

The late Rep. Charlie Norwood from Georgia wrote an article in 2006 for Human Events which explained just who and what this group is up to. Among the stated goals of one of the organizations under the La Raza umbrella is Movimiento Estudiantil Chicano de Aztlan, or Chicano Student Movement of Aztlan (MEChA) is:

"Chicano is our identity; it defines who we are as people. It rejects the notion that we...should assimilate into the Anglo-American melting pot...Aztlan was the legendary homeland of the Aztecas ... It became synonymous with the vast territories of the Southwest, brutally stolen from a Mexican people marginalized and betrayed by the hostile custodians of the Manifest Destiny."

Substitute the word white in their motto and see what sort of reaction you would get. Their two sentence motto is:

For La Raza todo. Fuera de La Raza nada."

It means: "For The Race everything. Outside The Race, nothing."

The ultimate objective of this group is something they call the Reconquista, the Reconquest. They believe that the southwestern portions of the United States were stolen from them and they are dedicated to reclaiming it.

This group now sees a prime opportunity to advance their agenda and they are doing it by labeling their opponents as the very thing they publicly proclaim themselves to be. Legitimate organizations might want to slow down jumping on the bandwagon and spend a little more time identifying the players in this drama.

Too many uninformed and ill informed citizens are being swept along for the ride, to no small degree because of the lack of journalistic principles. Evidence of this lack of courage can be found in the article I linked to above from the Washington Post where they describe La Raza as simply the largest Hispanic civil rights group in the country, just like CAIR is a supposed civil rights organization for Muslims.

You also don't need to look very deep to find out the influence of the real muscle on the liberal side, SEIU.

"We take no pleasure in calling for a boycott, but we feel there is no alternative," said Eliseo Medina, executive vice president of the Service Employees International Union. "Any adverse impacts in the short term are outweighed by the long-term benefits of stamping out discrimination."

It seems lately that the only thing the SEIU does is organizes protests, whether it is on Wall St. or the health insurance industry. When it comes to crippling this country economically, you find SEIU.

For those who only see anything and everything labeled American as being evil, they will certainly find themselves at home with the La Raza crowd, and just like other similar organizations such as ACORN and CAIR, they have been able to fly under the radar and obtain credibility due to the lack of moral courage of the media and elected officials.

There has never been any doubt in my mind from day one that all of this outrage over Arizona simply enforcing the law has more to do with the fact that they actually intend to do something about illegal immigration and not just pay lip service to the problem, like so many politicians have done, so they could sleep at night and have a warm fuzzy feeling, never for once believing anybody would have the courage to actually take action.

I wish those in the sports world who are feeling pressure from these goons would take a few minutes to find out who the players are, and for the business community, you are being manipulated by the same organizations who at the drop of a hat will be on your doorstep making demands of you.

Wealthy Left Bankroll Pro-Immigration Groups

It's a regular who's who of far-left groups helping fund and promote the disastrous amnesty bill, and a review of the donors listed in an online exclusive in the Washington Times today should send shivers down the backs of anyone interested in protecting this country from hordes of illegal invaders. Those interested in controlling immigration and the borders are relying on small donations from grassroots activists and are facing an uphill battle.

Wealthy philanthropic foundations are helping bankroll the pro-immigration movement, while groups advocating for tighter control of U.S. borders say they take a more grassroots approach to raising money.

The Ford Foundation, the Carnegie Corporation and Democratic activist George Soros, among other liberal funders, have donated millions of dollars to pro-immigration groups, as the Senate continues its debate on a contentious bill that would overhaul the nation's immigration policy.

Three of the nation's biggest and most influential pro-immigration groups -- the National Immigration Forum, the Mexican American Legal Defense and Educational Fund, or MALDEF, and the National Council of La Raza, or NCLR -- collectively received more than $3.25 million from Ford Foundation since 2005.

The three advocacy groups generally support the proposed Senate bill -- with some modifications -- that would give the estimated 12 million to 20 million illegal aliens in the U.S. a path to citizenship. The bill also would allow aliens here to be bring close family members into the county.

But groups supporting stronger immigration policy and tighter border control say they rely more on small donations from individuals than large foundations.

Numbers USA, which says it has 366,000 members, saw its membership grow 50 percent since Jan. 1, and 18 percent in May, spokeswoman Caroline Espinosa said. Two-thirds of the group's financial support comes from private individuals, with the average donation being $40.

It's not as if the right isn't represented in funding, but the amounts are dwarfed by the other side.

The conservative Scaife Foundations of Pittsburgh gave FAIR -- one of the biggest immigration-control nonprofit groups -- $775,000 between 2003 and 2005. The foundations during the same time period also gave $420,000 to Center for Immigration Studies and $100,000 to the Numbers USA Education and Research Foundation -- groups also that advocate tighter border control and restricting the flow of immigrants.

Meanwhile, a group of Republicans today published this op-ed in the Dallas Morning News, which was met with appropriate derision by Ramesh Ponnuru at NRO.

The op-ed would also be more persuasive if it demonstrated any familiarity with the bill itself. "[T]he package is built around a set of enforcement benchmarks that must be met before a single guest worker is hired or illegal immigrant legalized." This is simply untrue, and the White House has been careful to avoid making that claim in its own recent releases. The bill gives illegal immigrants legal status before any of these "enforcement benchmarks" are met. That is a central critique of this bill, and the op-ed not only doesn't address it; it pretends the bill doesn't have this feature.

This amnesty bill is hugely unpopular and tonight during the Republican debate, it needs to be made clear which sides the candidates are on.
